Should I get the Note 4? - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am happy with my Note 3 but want to use my Jump and get the latest phone. I am pretty much ready to get the Note 4 but I am worried about the amount of threads talking about problems. The amount seems to be a lot higher that it was when the Note 3 came out. I realize there will always be problems but I don't want to regret jumping from a perfectly good Note 3 to having problems with the Note 4.
Should I be worried or is it really not as buggy problematic as it seems to be?

Get the Note 4 . It is not buggy and since you have Jump then you dont have to worry about tripping Knox . All these rRoms that are based off stock are amazing and I have zero bugs. By the way I would suggest selling your Note 3 outright . You will get more for it than they will give you for jump most likely . I had the S5 and I was gonna Jump and trade it in but they were only gonna cover $315 . I sold my GS5 for $415 and paid off my device and got an extra $100 compared to what they were giving me . You wont regret getting it .Although the Note 3 is a great phone the Note 4 is more powerful and has 64bit dual channel memory instead of 32bit . Not to mention the screen is amazing and the phone is built out of Metal

Also what threads are you talking about? Problems? I have absouletly no issues with mine. This is the most powerful phone out and not to mention is built awesome and if you use TouchWiz it has quite a few new useful features . The new multi window is awesome. t a floating window you can resize . By far my favorite phone I have eveer owned ( and there have been many many phones)

Been using my note 4 for a couple days. I don't see any bug. However, I suggest you keep your Note 3. My dad is using a Note 3 and honestly I don't see any absolutely must-buy feature of my Note 4. The Note 4 is a better Note 3 and that's it.

The screen alone is worth the upgrade. The screen on note 3 is too dim and doesn't go super low on brightness at night

there are no bugs; anyone reporting that either has a defective phone or they dont know what they are doing..
this is the #1 android phone out now, no question..

Yeah, what threads are you referring to? I see maybe .0001% of people with challenges. And no, the Note 3 has MUCH more problems than the Note 4 at launch.

I'm personally confuse about all these bug you are referring to...you sure you been in the right forum? lol
If you do not want to get it because of all the bugs...I will suggest you look around again, I do not see anything about bugs
As if to upgrade, thats up to you. Note 4 is a better Note 3, all there is to it. Its not like jumping from a Note 2 to a Note 3. Note 4 is how the Note 3 should have been (minus that screen)

Coming from an s5 I am in love with my note 4 to the point where I will just buy the Note line

Buggy wasn't my main point, I said and mainly meant threads about problems. It also isn't the amount of threads but just the overall amount of comments from different people who have said they have problems is what concerned me. Here are some examples of threads but there are also comments within other threads were people are talking about the problem they are having. I am not going to track down everything that I have read since its release.
My main point is just the overall feeling of the quality control maybe not being the best this time around or just getting the feeling that waiting a bit for things to get ironed out might be best. The bad reception thread was the big flag at first and concerned me the most. Some people have said the regretted going to the Note 4 from the Note 3 so that is just why I was asking to see what the current feelings are.
Thanks for the replies!

Like others comment ... You should sell your note 3 you will get more for your device ... But upgrading from the note3 you should the screen is amazing and you will love it ... I personally haven't had no lag from my side ...

Note 4 exceeds all expectations. As a heavy user, I haven't run into any major bugs nor have I had any hw issues. Although I'm a fan of nexus, this was the obvious choice due to all the value samsung had built into this device.
As for upgrading from n3, I wouldn't (unless my name was dwitherell year to year advancements are too insidious for me to justify cost. Which is why I choose to upgrade every other year. Tbh my n2 was still a beast at the time I retired her.

I currently owe $408 on the phone and I am on the original jump plan so I don't have to have half the phone paid off. My original purchase price was only $612 so I am not to deep into my Note 3. The sooner I jump, the better off I will be. I got the phone back at the end of January so I am not upset about the ~ $200 I have into this phone.

If you are on the original jump, there is no requirement to pay half off. you can jump once every six month on the original jump. The jump 2 however, requires half to beer payed of in order to jump.
As to upgrading from note 3, while a very serious device, is trumped by note 4 in almost every aspect. The screen on note 3 is garbage.

Well I am one of three people in my office that got the Note 4 and all of us love it and none of us have had any problems. Of course if you go out to forums for any device you will find people with problems.

Most people dont know it . I wasnt talking about the processor . Its knida like a Hybrid. That is why I said in my Post that its memory is dual channel 64bit . I didnt say the processor . Its still a big improvement over the 801

Yeah the original Jump is actually worth it . The new Jump doesnt really have anything to offer at all . If you own the phone for a year you can get more for it selling it yourself rather than getting low balled by Tmobile

Exactly, tmobile realized that with the original jump comsumers were actually getting a good deal so they quickly changed it to jump 2 which iffers nothing.

Upgrading Phone: Note 3 or Note 4?

I am a Sprint customer and currently own a Lg Optimus G. I am ready for an upgrade and am gonna go for a 2 year contract, my question is should I go for the previous Note 3 for only $99 ? Or get the new Note 4 for $299 ? I was also considering the G3 but with the problems I had with the Opimus Im not sure if I want to go back to LG, plus the Note seems to offer a lot of cool features I am interested in. Also is there any new news on the Note Edge? Ive only heard of it not seen it. Thanks for any help.
the note 4 is a great phone just go with the latest and greatest! The edge is coming out on the 14th for ATT and i know that because i work for ATT but idk about the other carriers.
If you can wait another 3 to 4 months with upgrading, the Note 4 will probably drop another 150 in price. Honestly the difference in price between the 3 and 4 is not really justified.
You would not be disappointed with either choice but the Note 4 is definately a noticeably better phone. If you're going to keep it for two years, you're probably better off going for the newer phone if you Can afford it.

For me its not even close. Some say the Note 4 isnt enough of an upgrade over the Note 3, for me its a HUGE upgrade over it. The pen alone is far better on the note 4, but even the multitasking and the screen and the feel of the phone, and the faster Android L and so on and so forth... Id say go for the Note 4. Im currently using the Note 3 while my 4 is in the repairshop and I really miss a lot from the Note 4...

The Note Edge looks interesting, how much will it be?
I am thinking I will go with the newer Note 4 or Edge since I will have it for the next 2 years. It just sucks having to spend the extra $200 for it. Will there be a lot of developement for it? And any other phones (Sprint) that I shoyld take a look at before deciding? As I am still nit fully decided.
Note 4 without question, best phone I've had in years
Consider the Huawei Mate 7, and the Nexus 6. They are closer in regard to screen size, but for me they are merely big phones, lacking what makes the note 4 a great phone; spen, multitasking, the screen etc.

We need development? This phone is pretty close to perfect out of the box, it's the first phone I don't feel like I even have to root.

Upgrade from Note 3

Hi I have a Note 3 with me and I got a Note 4 during Cyber monday and I also have a T-Mobile gc for 100 off. Also T-Mobile is buying back my Note 3 for 325. So my cost for the Note 4 is 325 (650-325 Trade in credit) I am confused now as is it worth it to spend the extra money now. Can people who have upgraded from Note 3 to Note 4 comment on this.
A couple of things about me.
Wife has a iphone 6 plus and we take pics with the 6 plus so I can live without a not so gr8 camers.
I dont game at all.
I love the Spen and take notes also browse the web a lot o my phone.
I went from the 3 to 4. The s pen on the 4 is better. I draw etc and it works so much nicer. I also like the upgraded software for the pen.
sent from my GN4 N910T 4.4.4 stock rooted
That's good to know, I don't draw but I like to write with the pen. other than that how is the rest. The writing is really nice on the Note 3 also. Overall how is tue performance of Note 4 805 processor?
Another thing is we are also going to get 64 bit processor Soon- And the Note 5 next year will definitely have 64 bit processor. So I am really confused is it worth while to wait or upgrade and more over my Note 3 is in good condition.
Well all I can say is everything I do feels faster. Chromecast video play better. I do a mix of reading, watching videos, games, drawing, writing and replaced my PC with the note line. The Note 4 only has 2 things I don't like. I don't need QHD, it makes on screen elements a little to small in Ingress. The other is they didn't keep the temperature sensor. Other then those two minor issues I can't find issue with it.
I can't wait to see some custom ROMs over the next few months. I have owned a lot of phones and tablets and by far the Note 4 is my favorite. I do use Nova launcher since I can't stand the limits in TW.
sent from my GN4 N910T 4.4.4 stock rooted
Well I know the s6 was supposed to cone with new chip set but they stopped that. Nobody knows what note 5 will come with. 32 works great so is 64 gonna be better. Who knows. Samsung don't even know yet. They still have no real idea till they fix issues with s6 and then maybe focus on 5.0 for note 4 then get back to building note 5
BAD ASS NOTE 4
It's probably an unpopular opinion to have in this forum, but i'm a little disappointed I spent the money to upgrade. It's not to say the Note 4 isn't a great phone, out of anything out there right now it's an easy pick for me, but it is in no way a significant upgrade from the 3. There are some very slight improvements, the screen for one. The screen on the 3 was already stellar, so it's hard to achieve a major upgrade here. The camera gets slightly more detail, although the photos are noisier and have more sharpening added to them (possibly the reason for the added noise?). The battery life is worse, not by a significant amount, but it is still worse for me. I notice no speed difference at all, if one exists it's too slight for my level of perception. The speaker is worse, maybe not in quality, but in placement. The build is nicer, definitely feels higher quality, but this is perception too, the Note 3 was already proven to be quite tough. I keep my phone in a case, so that's ultimately not much of a benefit to me either. The fingerprint scanner I don't use, tried it and it often required multiple swipes, seems easier to just enter a code. The new white/cyan color scheme is atrocious, and I don't know what the hell they were thinking doing this on a phone with an AMOLED screen. Black backgrounds make MUCH more sense, not just to take advantage of high AMOLED contrast, but to conserve battery power also.
All in all, I regret spending $400 to upgrade, but the Note 4 is still an awesome phone. If I had been upgrading from an S4 or a Note 2, something along those lines, I think I would have a lot less regret about the money spent. Ultimately it depends on how much you want the slight improvements.
I came from an s4. Not a note 3.
But, I can tell you this phone is awesome. It's the "it" phone. And, will be for a long time.
Take the money for the note 3 and take the plunge.
My path has been g1and a wing, g2, s2, s3, s4, note 4.
I wouldn't have considered a note up until now because of the lack of development.
But, now. It's awesome. And, we are so lucky it's not locked down like the other carriers.
PS
We won't hate you because you admitted you have an iPhone.

Thanks for taking time to explain it. I do feel same but I also think by upgrading we will have a newer device and also the warranty is now extended to one more year. Look at this this way say if we were to sell our note 3 end of 2015 we would hardly get anything out of it but by selling note 4 at least we get 300 so our upgrade might be only 25..... That is where I have the whole confusion.
My Note 3 battery barely makes it to the end of the day. I am not rooted and don't want to as I use a lot of soft card for cash back. I definitely don't want to loose that.

I had checked. I upgraded from a note 3 to a note 4 a few weeks back actually. That's why I sold mine on craigs list for funnily enough $325 as T Mobile were offering peanuts.
By the way well worth the upgrade. Think of it a refinement at its best.

Good points, resale and warranty are valid reasons to trade up. My comments really focused on the complaints that I have with the phone as most other people have covered the high points, and of course there are many. It's subjective, obviously, but I don't think anything else out there at the moment surpasses it as a complete package.
I never owned a note 3 before. But I do own a 2012 Note 10.1 which I love very much. This Note 4 is even faster than my tablet and it really is impressive with everything I can do with it.

Note 4 & Android M

In a couple of days Google will show a preview of Android M ie Android 5.2 which going off rumours is more about memory optimizations & bug fixes & better battery life....we've heard that before!!!! basically what Lollipop should have been from the off.
So the Note 4 as we all know it isn't the greatest smartphone when it comes to getting updates, moreso if your in the UK when we with BTU handsets have to wait until most of the carriers have released updates first before the simfree gets it.
Obviously Android M will be on the Note 5 first at launch, then next the S6 & S6 edge will be next in line to get the update sometime before Christmas.
So what about the Note 4?
Well if the Note 3 is anything to go by then I think we be forgotten well into next year, the Note 3 BTU in the UK still hasn't received Lollipop yet while all of the UK carriers have had it a while now.
I personally think if we see it before the S7 launch next year, then we done well
but I'm not holding my breath tbh.
One of the many reasons why I now regret getting an unlocked Note 4.
I'm waiting for I/O before I make a decision but it's likely I'll be going back to a Nexus or flash Cyanogen.
I'd really like Google to hold the OEMs to account on updates, most are committed to 2 years of updates but if it takes them 12 months to release said update it's likely they'll get away with doing the minimum.
HTC are the only company to commit to a 90 day rollout atm, others should follow suit.

Try Cyanogenmod, if updates really matter to you then you won't regret it, and stock android is amazing

No point in guessing. Get the Nexus 6/Note 5 if you need android M (guessing it'll launch with lollipop and be updated in feb/march to android M). Updating older phones isn't really Samsung's thing, especially when they are busy working on newer handsets.
But the Note 4 isn't a old device it's only just over 6 months old now.
What i think the problem is with the Note series is 2 main reasons.
First they don't sell anywhere near as many as the S series because for alot of people the Note is just to big or to expensive on launch even with contracts.
Secondly because there is more going on within Touchwiz on the Note series ie S pen ect, it takes longer to debug the software before they release it.
The Note 3 is still a powerful & very capable Phablet, but now updates for that are few and far between, I wouldn't be surprised if the Note 3 doesn't get Android M even though it supposed to me more optimized, the likes of the Moto G & Nexus 4 & 5 will get it though.
What it points to if you like Samsung smartphones and want regular updates then don't buy the Note series while they are great on launch they soon forgotten by Samsung while they concentrated on the next big thing in case of the Note 4, the S6 now takes priority & the Note 5 to a certain degree in the Autumn for the first few months at least until the S7 launch next spring.
To me Samsung have a 6 month product cycle with the Note series in regards to regular updates before they put on the back burner somewhat, after that they concentrated more on the S series because even the S4 & S5 got lollipop before the Note 3 & Note 4 did.
Even though I really like my Note 4, I don't think i go down this route again with either the Note 5 or Note 6 depending on when i decide to buy a new phone, it probably be a Nexus next time around.
I am pretty sure that our phone will get android M if it is just a 5.2 release. Samsung may take a while, but eventually they update all their flagships. HTC may be faster but they promise updates for only a couple of smartphones. Even the One Mini 2 wont get lollipop...
I switched from two years with Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 combo to Note 4 a month ago. Even though Nexus 4 has android 5.1.1, it was full of bugs from the start. When you use a nexus you are kinda the beta tester. You get all the updates first, and all the bugs that come with new untested versions. Also Google can and will take months to release a point update to fix big bugs like camera crashes.
As someone already said, if you want nexus experience install Cyanogenmod or similar rom and you wont be far off.
I have BTU's (3 and 4), you just take whatever rom you want from Sammobile and flash with Odin, no need to wait at all. Knox at 0x0, job done. I'm currently on the French Note 4 ROM as it's the newest one out that's official.

I can't agree more with you. I left Samsung when I changed from the Note 2, which was the BEST phone I had ever owned. But it kept getting slower and slower, battery with every update was worse. So I changed to other phones and I really liked the other phones. I came back to the Note 4 thinking "Wow, awesome hardware, and Samsung is doing a great job with updates 2 years later" and I couldn't be more wrong. I'm thinking about just taking the hit and selling my Note 4 and going for the Nexus 6. But I see the Nexus 6 has its own issues. I also thought about the Xperia Z3 as Sony takes pretty good care of their devices in terms of software, and I see that they are also having issues. It seems like Android 5.0.1 is a terrible update for ALL phones. Since the Nexus 6 is on 5.1, and it seems to have fixed most major problems, I'll wait a month or so to see if Samsung fixes anything. If they don't, I'll just send Samsung off and never buy another darn samsung device again!!!

Awesome, thanks. And this can be flashed without tripping NOX to my DBT device?
Not sure what a DBT is but my note 4 has had 4 ROMS so far, EE, unbranded X2 and the SFR and I just checked in download mode knox is 0x0.
Plenty of guides out there. As far as I know flashing official ROMs is fine, it's when you have to root to install proper custom firmware the knox trips.

Oh now don't expect miracles with the SFR ROM. It seems a little better with regard to battery so far 4 days in.

DBT is the German unlocked model haha.
How's your battery life?
And if I might ask, do you have:
-lag when pressing multitasking button?
-lag when reviewing picture recently taken?
My 2 cents is, just because there is a new Android version doesn't make lollipop rubbish and it certainly doesn't make the note 4 a bad phone. If the note 4 got the new android a week after it was launched, the forum would then be full of threads saying how bad battery life was and how buggy the software was and "i'm going back to lollipop".
This happens every time a new Android version comes out, with all phones, without fail.
It is human nature to want what you haven't got.

The battery life isn't too bad - off charger at 6am, an hour's screen time and a few calls today in an area with very poor signal (countryside) and I'm on 77%. Graph says 2 days left at current rates. Hasn't been as good as that previously but I was running Nova launcher with the entire home screen full of widgets. I'm back on a more plain TW home screen with just a couple of widgets.
Edit: I have got rid of the multitask lag via this tip: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-verizon/help/fix-lag-delay-hitting-multitasking-t2939700 and I don't really think there's a noticeable lag from camera to gallery.
every Android phone has some sort of defect or issue nowadays. Apparently theres some battery swelling issue on the N6 and whatnot, among others..Every other vendor gets poor updates, Nexus 9 was slower to update than samsung devices and that device SUCKS (i own one, and its the worst tablet ive ever seen).
Sadly, if you want that feeling that the manufacturer cares about your device and will update it/own issues...Apple is the only route...Ill probably get the 6s or 6plusS this year, AOSP camera apps arent as good as the OEM ones, but using TW roms is cancer.

I suppose in every batch there are some bad batches. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, which runs FASTER than my Note 4. This just isn't right. I can multitask like a champ with that tablet, and so much more stable and reliable...
I'm somewhat disappointed with my Sammy phone (Note 4)... But i'll give it some time and see if Sammy can fix some of these issues. If not, then I'm done with Samsung. I had the G3 and it was an awesome phone, too, until Lollipop ruined the experience with lags and battery issues. Why do these OEMs update if they know they're having issues? Samsung MUST know about these issues, and yet, they still release new ROMS that don't fix them.

Personally I think snap camera is better than the TW stock camera, way more options to fine tune.
I doubt that the Note 5 will ship with M, Its the Dev release that has come out only just now... the Note 5 is likely to drop around November so thats 5 months.
Seems a little too quick for Samsung.

Agreed, Android M will be released around the time that the Note 5 will be released, so no way Samsung will have it on their Note 5 already. They need at least 2 months to adapt it.

Samsung really are going downhill, lack of support for the Note 4 now this, if you want a Phablet this year better to wait for the Moto X style or the Nexus both 5.7" and both will get superb support.

Around £600+ for the 32GB version i would guess.
I'm starting to think Samsung is attempting to bankrupt themselves...
"Marketing reasons". According to Tweakers, the reason is "Because Europeans haven't been using the stylus for years". Their market research team is comprised of morons, it seems.
Either that, or they're postponing it for Europe until the Snapdragon is available...
This is utterly stupid. I honestly hope this fails big time.
Africa 404 not found ...
Note 4 the last of the greats
I think we can now finally say the Note 4 was the last of Samsung's best products.
Its bad enough that the Note 5 has been stripped of major features like MicroSD and IR Blaster, but they then go on to not make it available globally and force the crap S6 Edge+ on us.
I am truly disappointed. I have no idea where to go now from Samsung, maybe to Motorola or Sony, but none of their products match up to the Note 4.
They've amended their statement pretty quickly...
Samsung now says they won't release it in the EU this year, but that they "will look at further opportunities to launch the Galaxy Note 5 in other markets based on individual market situations"
Which makes a tiny bit of sense, because they don't have much to fear from Apple in the EU. Apple's market share is only 12% here.
I'm starting to suspect a Note 5+ to be released alongside the S7 in April, with an S820. Europe's Note devices have always been Snapdragons, with the Exynos models being the models for less advanced markets. Considering the S6+ today, it's not a big leap to expect a Note 5+.

I really don't understand where you get your numbers from. It had 220mah less than a note 4 however has more efficient processor more efficient software and more efficient screen, the note 4 lasts roughly 5 hours SOT with less efficient hw. Yes the note 5 will be a pile of crap but don't try and make out it will be a bigger pile of crap than the note 4, I think android M will make it an absolute beast as well if they focus properly on their new phones. What I don't understand is, will the s6 edge plus be considered a flagship over the edge? And be considered first for updates or will they job it out like the note 4?

Shame that the best features for power users are being removed from the Note 5.... No removable battery, no MIcroSD slot, no IR blaster..... Also shame that it won't be available in Europe.
I wonder what is Samsung thinking?
So, what did we get this year?
1. No SD Card slot.
2. No IR Blaster.
3. No removable battery.
4. Smaller battery.
5. The Note 5 will Not get to Europe.
Good job Samsung, you know how to satisfy your customers.

After 6 months the battery won't hold a charge nearly as well; I have two batteries and the original is clearly a lot worse already (bought my phone i January). With the new battery I get around 7 hours of SoT (see the battery thread), and with the old one I get around 5 1/2. The Note 4 definitely isn't a pile of crap, but samsung are actively trying to make it worse than it is by not releasing updates and making sure we have the latest touchwiz etc. The Note 5 is a complete joke.
Come to Israel Next week they are giving 200 people who sign up a Note 5 with a charging cradle.

940euros? That's insane considering it isn't much of an upgrade from the Note 4. I paid ~530€ for my Note 4 and it came with an external battery (3500mAh).

Anyone jumping ship?

So it's that time of year again when a new and honestly beastly lime of Samsung flagships is announced. The Galaxy S20 line looks legitimately promising but is it enought to give up the Note 9 and S pen though? Or are you gonna wait to see what the Note 20/+/Ultra has to offer a few months down the line.
I wanna see everyone's view on these new phones that ol Sammy has announced. I'm personally on the fence. I want the new tech but I just know the Note line will blow it out of the water later this year so it leaves room for a potential bait and switch lol.
What about you all?
Note line for me. Still have my Original Note1,2,3,4,5,FE,8,9,10...gonna see what Note11(20) has in store. If anything like the S20 I I'm sure it will be a beast.

I'm intrigued with just about any new midrange to flagship phone that comes out.
However, I usually steer clear of the S lineup for a few reasons.
1) No S-Pen. I rarely use it, but, it's nice to have when you want/need it. The price difference between the top of the line S series & the Note is negligible considering you get the S-Pen & usually some newer hardware/software features.
2) I don't particularly care for the curves on the S series, preferring the boxier look of the Note.
3) The hole punch. Yeah, you can (probably) hide it, just as you can on the Note 10, but, that kinda sux that you sacrifice screen real estate for a cleaner look. The fact that all the marketing pix hide it w/dark gradient wallpapers & having a software option to hide it is an admission that it's an awful stopgap before the hidden FFC's are available.
I'd be lying if I said I'm not tempted to get the S20 Ultra. The 5G speeds alone are definitely appreciable, both the Note 10 & OP7T Pro are definitely snappier with it. However, the eye-watering price of $1400-$1600 USD is a hard pill to swallow.
The only way I'll jump ship is if pre-order trade-in offers on the carriers (T-Mobile US here) is a lot better than the $300 that Samsung is offering. Otherwise, I'm hanging on to the Note 9 until the Note 20 arrives, or longer. Mine is running just as well as it did on opening day & battery health is still around the 95% range, kinda hard to trade it in for the measly $210 that T-Mobile is currently offering. (Not particularly interested in bothering with listing it on Swappa & the like, last time I checked, way too many available for sale,it's a buyer's market)
In the meantime, I scratched my itch for new hardware yesterday.
T-Mobile slashed the price of their Pixel 4 lineup:
Pixel 4XL was $899,sale price as of 2/12/20: $499.
Pixel 4 was $799,now 50% off as of 2/12/20: $399.
Got it (4XL) on T-Mobile's JOD, $0 down & free overnight shipping, ETA 2/14/20.
Will use it as a daily driver for the first week or two, long enough to determine if it's a keeper (for a backup/secondary phone) or, send it back during the buyer's remorse grace period.
Is the S20 worth getting?
I wouldn't fault anyone who doesn't want to wait for the next Note to land, but, I'd definitely stay away from the smallest one, as it doesn't have the MM Wave variety of 5G. Yeah, I know 99% of the US doesn't even have it available, present company included, however, @ $1000, no sale here.

Still loving my note 9. I see no reason to upgrade. Note9 still is peak smartphone for me. Note 10 was a step backwards (I don't like notches or holes in my display, and I like my headphone jack).
Note 11 or 20 or whatever likely isn't an upgrade for me either. Note 9 still goes two days on a charge unless I game on it, still fast as when I bought it, and still takes great photos. I'll wait until some of that changes.
My wife and I might be switching to something a little more stock related later this year. Just tired of bloat, crappy support when it comes to issues, and definitely something a lot cheaper. Maybe if Google does things right, I might just get two Pixel 4a/XL or whatever when they eventually come out? Not sure to be honest. OnePlus is now up there with the big guys in pricing so that might not happen. Don't know, but I do know that I will be keeping my Note 9 as a backup.

Nope, kinda pissed that the plain note 10 is smaller than the 9 the 10+ is the same size as the 9 so you pay more for less? I kind my full rounded screen. The notch hole punch, whatever their doing these days. I like having a whole screen. The biggest thing for me is personalization. You look at iPhone and everyone has the same layout and everything. I may skip yet another year in the Note upgrade game, & this is coming from someone who got the Note FE (still have it).
The Note 10+5G (T-Mobile US) is a beast,warts & all.
However, while the 5G speeds are nice,if you have already fast 4G LTE &/or Wi-Fi most of the time, it's a hard sell when you have a perfectly fine Note 9 & that's why I returned mine during the buyer's remorse period.
If the Note 20 is priced much more than the S20 Ultra, I'll probably sit out another upgrade & will continue to do so until my Note 9 battery takes a nosedive....

I'm actually waiting to see what Samsung does with the new note. I just came from IOS to Android and I've always loved the Note series but I couldn't afford the Note 10 + currently so i got the note 9 for like $350 and it's so damn good. By the time Samsung announces the new note I should be financially stable enough to get it on launch day so I'll be patient and continue to use this beast of a phone.
Ladies and gents the Note 9 is the goat! When the 10 came out with the hole punch I was not loving it but I tried the 10+ before I bought the 9 I was using my note 8 which was great but the battery was poor life otherwise note 8 was great. So the note 10+ I bought was having very poor reception and when I was gaming some of my buttons were near the hole punch and it was effecting game performance so I looked at note 9 specs and seen that it's the last note with headphone jack no hole screen and 4000mah battery! Plus when I had finally decided to upgrade from note 8 the 9 had been out a year and a half so the prices were coming down, I bought not 1 but 2 note 9 from Samsung on ebay for 349.99 brand new! I am fully prepared for this to be the last phone I ever use...
