I am completely new to flashing ROMS these days because I haven't done it since the original Evo for Sprint. To make it worse I now have a Mac and no access to a windows computer. I'm currently using a 1095 Pure Edition (the T-Mobile compatible one which the update is for) however I can't seem to find any instructions on how to flash on a Mac. If someone can point in the direction of this I would greatly appreciate it as I am beyond confused at this point. Thanks in advance.

I have the Motorola Droid currently running the latest version of Froyo and I am really interested in rooting it. But, unfortunately I have the latest Froyo and I can't root that. Does anybody know how/if I could downgrade the software to the original Froyo release os even 2.1? I have a Mac running Parallels so I'll take PC or Mac suggestions. Please be specific if you wanna help me. I'm new to all of this. Thanks in advance!
This link will walk you through the process.
Root Droid 1 Regardless of OS version
Just to make things clear, you can use that to root the latest Froyo build. It is what I used to root my device as well.
Thanks! Everything looks great but I can't seem to get my device to show up in RSD Lite. Any suggestions?
So now I'm getting the stupid notification to update to 2.3.3. Thing is, right now CM6.1.1 is MUCH smoother than the gingerbreads out there. I'd like to stick with it till CM7 is a full stable release. Also I heard you can edit a file in /system/ to fake your version. Couldn't find the info I needed to change it though. The other thread I looked at, the guy seems to have the same issue and he's on rogers as well (Well FIDO is owned by Rogers, therefore towers are the same here). Problem is I've tried a lot to get rid of it and still no luck, any help is appreciated
Find and flash FOTAKill
Sweet just found it and flashed it! Thanks alot
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
I'm running rooted stock 2.2.2 FRG83G and don't want to install the OTA until there's an easy OneClick-esque root method (the developer is referring to it as gingerbreak). Will FOTAkill work on rooted stock? If so, is all I do open FOTAKill-signed.zip on my computer, extract the FOTAkill.apk, and install it on my phone?
I apologize in advance for the relatively rudimentary question.
I just finished unlocking and rooting my phone. I've installed Titanium Backup and it recognizes the root.
Here is what I'd like to do:
1. Flash ROM's - I rooted my wife's Nook Color a few years ago (just to get Google Play on it for her) and never really messed with it after that. I did do an SD card boot of CM7 but that was really simple. What I'm getting at is I've never really flashed a ROM in Android before and need a step by step guide for this device. If there is such a procedure I can't find it so if anyone has a link or can help out that would be great.
2. Get around my carriers (AT&T) tethering restrictions. I want to be able to use my phone as a WiFi hotspot while traveling with my kids so they can use their iPods to "do their thing" while we are on trips etc. Is this possible without having to pay for it?
3. Get rid of the bloatware on my phone.
Any help (links etc) are greatly appreciated.
You should S-Off your Vivid as well. Its easy and will make the installing custom ROMs easier. Make sure you read AND understand the instructions first. And remember this is not necessary.

Here is all of the current ROMs/Kernels/MODS/etc on XDA. Just browse through and decide whether youd like to use ICS or JB. Try them out.

As far as tethering that is ROM specific. Some do, so dont but you can try this method.

Hope this helps

[MANDATORY INTRODUCTORY SENTENCE DEPLOYED] Okay so as the title states I have an issue with my Sprint HTC One (m7) [MANDATORY INTRODUCTORY SENTENCE Complete].
The issue in question is lack of GPSability after flashing (you guessed it) Cyanogenmod 11 and currently CM12. I have tried multiple ROMs since then and all of them either don't fix the issue or wont install or work at all. So now I'm back to CM12 and everything works terrifically except for GPS...which I need...alot.
Now of all the research I've done on finding a fix for this infuriating problem has led me to believe that the only real way to fix this is to flash to a stock ROM, get a GPS fix/lock/signal/whathaveyou and then wipe and flash back over to your ROM of choice HOWEVER....heh heh I kinda un-acquired my backup, it somehow got erased during some blunder during the initial rooting process and I was dumb enough to not have saved a backup on my pc...oops.
Now I am aware that there are other ways of restoring my device to stock by other means such as RUU processes but I am not able to perform this process as my internet connection on my pc is dependent on my phone itself via tethering.
I also know that some have had luck by flashing new kernels however I have not been able to find one that worked for me.
So I guess what I'm asking is does anyone know of any other way I could restore my phone to stock using methods that don't require my pc to be connected to the internet, know of a place where I can find a flashable stock ROM or simply just fix my GPS issue outright?
I appreciate any assistance anyone can offer. Thank you in advance.

I forgot it was Rumrunner that needed internet conection to work, the RUU simply wouldn't work, again this time was no different. But, BUT, BUUUUUT, thanks to that link I WAS able to get access to answers that eventually solved my problem both primary AND secondary. Was able to get back to stock via a Stock Rooted Rom AND achieved GPS lock with CM12. You have my eternal thanks my friend. Your link opened the road to answers that two months of googling couldn't answer.
Hello! Well as from the title yes I wanna go from android L to android M. I don't have access to a computer currently. So i cant flash through ADB. :-/I'm currently running on Resurrection Remix on my shamu. I flashed benzo 6.0 a few days ago on MULTIROM just to test and all went well. But I wanted to try another 6.0 ROM and it kept failing to flash. Then I realized I needed to flash 6.0 but no PC. I need to flash the 6.0 bootloader and radios if not mistaken? Anyone here can help me get to 6.0 keeping my TWRP with no PC? Sorry if I sound like a mess don't really know how to put this.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks
It seems to me that if you don't have PC handy, you shouldn't be so risky on your phone. Especially with 6.0, which includes bootloader updates, radios, etc. If you tried this on the device only, it seems like you'd have a chance to brick your device. And then how could you recover without a PC?
Unfortunately, I have never read of anyone updating the bootloader without a PC or the modem for that matter sound very risky to me even if technically possible. I have had samsungs that if someone created a flashable modem file you could update that but never a bootloader......

Bootloader and radios from various releases. These are flashable with custom recovery.
Please read the OP, of the linked threads first.
