returning rooted/safe strapped s5 to stock - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

Hi,
I have an s5 that i rooted and installed safe strap with the kool kit rom a while ago.
I will be changing phones and need it to be as close as possible to where it was when stock. Do you know of any way to remove safe strap and root? I still have the original backup of the phone, would that help?

Soft Brick after Wipe in Safe Strap

I am new to the note 3 and did a full wipe in the 'advance options'...Coming from the s4 that was standard and it apparently soft bricks the phone here.
I am able to get to download mode. It just hangs on the Samsung screen.
Do we have the odin files for 4.4.2? I was on N900 I think. (Literally just got the phone so cant remember)
See if you boot into recovery by holding power, home and down key. If so download a custom rom on your computer and put on a sd card and try to install that way. Otherwise try to odin back to stock. Good luck

Yeah i can get into the stock recovery. But how will i be able to install a custom rom through there? Im looking for the stock Odin files for NC2 but I dont think they have been leaked. Thinking about trying this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2703006&page=1

He said he's on 4.4.2, so he most likely has the A3 bootloader. You cannot restore back to MJ5 once you're on the A3 bootloader.
Looks like the only way is going to be Best Buy

im guessing carl1961 fix should be good for the ones stuck on a3 bl's but not sure. if you softbrick again after that then a reflash of nc2 is the way to go.

Let me guess. You wiped your stock slot clean then rebooted? LOL
You need to get with @carl1961 and he'll get ya back and running. Don't even think about the "restore to mj5" thread. You have the locked bootloader and it wouldn't work for you.

Ill try that if BB fails. I just want stock NC2 so i can root and safestrap away...
Cant believe I soft bricked a phone lol. This is like my 6th droid and ive never bricked b4.
At least im on MLG now. I bet BB can update it to NC2. I tried to sideload the update but it expects MLD.

I have no idea. I was attributing it to the fact i did a full wipe in advance. I cheeked all expect micro SD then flashed Dynamic Kat and the theme. Then it wouldn't get past the Samsung Logo screen.
Maybe it was an MD5 mismatch...

First, we're you useing Safeway? And are you sure you didn't have "wipe sd" checked.? Sounds like you need to do a full restore. Follow the instruction to a "t" and you should be fine.

you cant use the restore to mj5 method, different bootloaders. your best bet is bestbuy to reflash the official until somebody figures a method.

I was able to create aRom Slot and bit up fine as i am in Rom slot 1 right now. I am running Dynamic Kat 4.0. Since creating the slot my phone won't restart, fast reboot, or reboot in safestrap using the options from the reboot menu. I can use the power off option and then turn the phone back on to get to safestrap. Is this a slot issue maybe, or a Rom issue. I never had a problem in stock slot.
Thanks in advance.
No longer can flash?
Went to install the latest Dynamic Kat. Won't flash. I know its rooted and SS is installed.
But when I try to flash any zip file I get the same response.
Returned to ND3 stock. ReRooted, SS etc. No change.
Refuses to flash any zip file from ext sd or internal.
Any ideas?

Even with the new Super SU 2.16 or 2.17,Rom slot 1 has issues. Roms will boot. But personal experience has shown me dpi issues, launcher issues etc. Rom slot 1 seems to be a good place to store a backup. But if your wanting the Rom to perform properly, Stock Slot is where you need to run it from. Just my experience. [emoji106]

Thanks....... KLTEATT-ND3-3.75-B03 was he only one I could find, a couple of members indicated that it would work on the G870A.
I'm rooted and wanted to try some alternate apps & possibly a custom ROM, I know just enough about android OS to be a danger to my device.

It is for the AT&T G900A yes he'll lose it all unless data is transfered to ex sd card make sure things like music and stuff is transfered first and use something like a Gmail account to back up other data. Or Titanium Backup that'll work as well.
All my stuff is on Dropbox and Gmail plus my ex sd card.

[Q] want to unroot using mac

is this possible? i absolutely love this phone and have no use in keeping the root phone is really fast and smooth stays at a constant 1.2-1.4 free ram i am just looking to get a clean start and picking up the knowledge pretty fast and also deleted a package from ti backup that i want back lol totally noob move so if anyone can help i would really appreciate it
thanks in advance
I would just wipe out SuperSU in Titanium Backup. Or run a Windows VM, and flash to stock with Odin if your daring enough.
thank for the reply will a restore from smartswitch work as well?

Been a while since I messed with the phone. I forgot how to do everything. How would I revert my phone to stock? Had it since the beginning, rooted it hoping for more support. Just want to go MM and call it a day. Thanks.

I am not 100% positive, but I believe you can just use odin to flash a previous stock rom and then upgrade ota to marshmellow

Yes, just flash the full wipe firmware using Odin, then OTA update to MM
