are there any games similar to Scorched Earth (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scorched_Earth_(video_game)) for android??
I remember getting hella lot of fun back in 90s with it
Haha, man I'd love this too, I remember networking all our computers to play multiplayer in school... the nostalgia factor alone would make it worth 99 cents to me!

Did you even try to actually find it yourself? Because if you search "Scorched Earth" in the Market, Armored Strike is the first result....

God I wish there was a proper port with networked multiplayer
Barrage
There's a page for a port at sourceforge but it appears to be dead and the files are gone. Too bad, the apps out there are OK but even the paid versions don't match the original. I wasted so much time on that game as a kid, I'd love to do it again.
There's a great new Android game in the market called Hungry MonstR. It's a very well put together game with a lot of replayablity and it has a level of polish similar to Angry Birds.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.blowfishstudios.games.hungrymonstr
looks fun, but it also looks like it is better played on a tablet.
Hi there. I'm one of the developers of Hungry MonstR.
Just wanted to let you know the game has been modified to work best with both phones and tablets. The Monsters are scaled up for the smaller devices so they are easier to grab.
Most game testing was done on Nexus One and iPhone 3GS and we think the game is enjoyable on all capable devices. It's easiest to play with 2 thumbs on the phone compared to the tablet.
Hope you enjoy the game!
Cheers,
Blowfish Studios.
THanks for the heads up, I'll download it later today before work.
Now um I'm just wondering if I can meet Nichole

Not sure why it would, this isn't a "free apps" only section.
I'll be purchasing it later to try it out, thanks dev.

Whoa there, no pirating is going on here.
It's a topic on an app for android, with a valid market link, and a simple discussion.
It's even posted in the right section.
Edit: lol
Lol... I don't see anything wrong with this thread...
Anyways, I will definitly check into it pretty soon. Is there a lite/ad version for phones or do we just gotta like what we see in the video? Either way, I love games with polish that run nice and smoothly, and it looks good... so I'm sure I'll be trying it.

I thought I read that on here. My bad.
Looks like some of us at Blowfish Studios might be in LA this year for E3 Expo
No plans at the moment for a lite/ad version as we feel its very cheap as it is. Plus we have had very limited success with ads on the iOS platform. Still we understand that the Android platform may be different and we will keep our eyes on the market.
One thing we will do is release a free app that determines if a persons device is capable of running our games. At the moment we are using hardware filtering, but I believe that is cutting out some devices which could actually work with the games.
Cheers
Dragon Ball Z, a animation series which is for me the best animation series ever.
This thread is for all Dragon Ball Z lovers like me.

That's like saying "Hey, I made a thread just for (insert game title here). It doesn't need to go in the game thread." It doesn't work that way though.

Just because you think your thread is special doesn't make it special. As other people told you already we have an anime thread. If you want to discuss the topic then go there.
So the first episode of Gotham has aired and there has been time for Monday Night Football fans to catch up on their DVR recording of it.
What do you think?
Hopefully we can discuss the character development versus that of Smallville, how pissed we get when they change things from Earth 616 origins, all the signs of Bruce's dedication to becoming Batman, the ongoing plots....wherever you all want this thread to go.
I will start...Edward Nigma working for the police department in Forensics? WTH?
Wasn't Cobblepot from a rich family?
Selina saw the Waynes murdered?
Overall I think it was a good opener and has the potential to be as good or better than Smallville.
OT from the OT..how did you guys like the Absorbing Man in Agents of Shield?
While overall it was a great start, I was disappointed by the rapid intro of many villains. It almost felt like they shot their load all at once and now the series will need to live up to the pilot.
If they turn Bruce into Batman within this series, nt sure how it wold be. I only hope it doesn't turn into a Smallville. To many timelines were crossed and Smallville became to distorted.
It's interesting when faced by what we know and what is created today. Agents of S.H.I.L.D is another. I do like it.. somewhat. In this show, I want some of the Avengers to make an appearance.
I think Gotham has potential.

Ooops...SPOILER ALERT!!! Sorry!
TS that is one thing definitely different than Smallville, was the introduction of many of the main players....but I think it is done for a reason..as they are probably going to be a big part of the entire series. I think they may follow a similar formula as Smallville (FOX ripping off other shows success formula...NEVER...LOL) and that we will not see the Caped Crusader in cape until the series finale 10 years from now. There are many other characters we will see I am sure...Harvey Dent, Victor Fries, Ras Al Ghul, Basil Karlo....and was that the Joker on the stage entertaining Fish? 3 origins presented themselves of him...one where he was a failed comedian, another where he was the Red Hood, and another of just a murderous criminal. But his real name never known.
I say we ban the OP for such a joke of a thread

I would go more with Poison Ivy as Batgirl was supposed to be James Gordon's daughter and about Robin's age.

Yeah... Like most of the comicdom I am not happy with them changing the relationship between Johnny and Sue Storm making Johnny adopted so he can be played by a black actor. To date they have been able to seamlessly change characters race in the movies but to rewrite a family relationship?
In the comics they have matched Nick Fury being black by presenting him as Nick Fury's son. Hawkeye jokingly calls him Nick Fury 2.0.
Thread Necro ftw!
I watched Smallville all 10 seasons. I made it to about episode 5, season one of Gotham.
So yeah.
And I generally love any and all superhero stuff. TV shows, cartoons, movies. Anything. I'm very forgiving, even fantastic 4 movies I find the positives in. Lol

There was absolutely no positive in that last debacle of a movie called The Fantastic Four!
I don't know if anyone has posted about this yet but i just updates to lollypop and somehow found a game like flappy bird but with an android.
When you go into settings and click about tablet and click where it says android 5.0.1 when you click it several times a lollipop comes up and if you keep clicking the lollipop it changes color. If you click and hold on it, a game pops up like flappy bird but with an android.
I didn't play it for more than a few seconds but here's a screenshot...

it's all good...I had no idea. I almost never come on any of the forums anymore and had no idea lollipop was even coming out. What's the reason behind the game...any idea? I never played flappy bird for more than about 10 seconds and don't plan on playing the android version either....I'm just not a gamer anymore.

Everyone? Really, EVERYONE?
If you already know about something, good for you. There is no need to be a jerk about it.
Sorry but the famous version easter egg is not worth to make a thread.
And that post was not he trying to be a jerk.
I didn't knew that (still running 5.0). Just hope it isn't the main CHANGE from 5
'Nobody can know everything... at the same time.'
Sometimes people discover stuff, independently... And maybe it is already known amongst the experts...
But it might not be...
Suppose somebody 'discovers' some new method of rooting, or of unbricking a device or some other paradigm changing approach to Android... and they won't post their findings because...
"Oh, the experts on XDA will probably know about this already... so I won't post"
...then what ???
---
Much as I love XDA, I do find some of the intellectual arrogance from some members quite nauseating, and utterly inimical to the spirit of XDA... which is, sharing, discovery and exploration.
Maybe this thread about the Flappy Birds Easter Egg is trivial... but the OP discovered it himself, and was surprised, gladdened and happy about it... And thought it worth sharing here on XDA, with members and guests who perhaps may not be aware of it.
I seriously don't understand why some people have a problem with that.
---
The only problem I have with the Flappy Birds Easter Egg... Is how to make any damn progress in it!!! Seriously, I cannot get past the first obstacle... no matter how many times I try.

search.....search.....search.....THEN make a new thread if you can't find anything about. If people would follow this simple rule, then half the forums would be dead
I didn't know about it and wish I never read this thread as I suck at the game. High score after 20 tries was 1 lol. Don't let some of the people get you down as I for one am glad you posted it.
