[Q] LGMobile Phone Software Update Tool Install freezes

I've downloaded from www.lg.com a software "LGMobile Phone Software Update Tool Install" and running always freezes with approx. 10% of progress-bar. (in each windows xp, vista and 7)
How long must i gonna waiting?
Same thing happened to me today.
I got it to work by rebooting my computer.
However it was not worth the effort. The tool informed that an update was available but then after a couple of other steps then it then informed me that my phone LGP990 (Optimus 2X) was not supported by the update tool
Jake
same here...
update tool
Same problem here.
I had the same problems using the program when connected to the internet through a proxy server. It seems that you need a direct internet connection to start the program.
Anybody knows why the on the phone "check for updates" menu is giving id check errors or not running at all??
I wasnt able to update the phone The update freezed, and I got the message to unplug my phone and take out my battery I tried it several times with no luck Finally I changed the cable, and the phone updated fine The cable I used first was a brand new original cable I think there is something factory wrong with the cable and the charging unit It doesnt seem to charge the battery as it should do either I am taking it bacj to the store today for repair My LG O2x is running 2.2.2 like a dream now

LG Mobile Update Tool
Guys, I had a bad experience with the LG Mobile Update Tool. My recommendation is DO NOT USE IT. Here's why:
I recently got 2 Optimus P500 for me and my gf, experimented on my phone updating to 2.2.2 using this tool. Everything went fine until it got stuck at 50% or something and the phone's screen on Emergency Mode. Luckily after removing my battery and turning on the phone, it booted fine and I checked the software version and it updated, that was my 1st scare.
Now, after convincing my gf to update her phone as well (she witnessed my 1st scare), I start doing the same thing with her phone, it downloads the update blablabla when it is supossed to start flashing it got stuck at 4% and it lost connection to the phone. The phone was in Emergency Mode as well so I proceed to remove the battery, it boots, I check the software version it was 2.2.1 (same version it had) so I decided to retry (BAD DECISION). I plug the phone back, and hit Retry, it starts updating, then again it gets stuck on 4% and loses connection. The phone's screen in Emergency Mode, I remove the battery again and no luck. Now it just boots straight into Emergency Mode and my PC won't recognize it.
Now, I'm not an expert on these phones but there's the KDZ tool which you can find somewhere in this forum and use that. Find the latest .kdz for your phone and flash it yourself without using the Mobile Update Tool, I should've done that myself after the 1st scare.
My optimus P990 got stuck while using update tool...can't get it runnig again. Please wait while upgrading.....for four days now. :-(
I am wondering if I made the right choice switching to LG instead of SEx10!
i was facing the same problem, then i switched the cable onto another USB ports of my PC... suddenly it worked... but if i knew it's not worth it, i wouldn't have it done...
sucks, now i have to re-install all of my apps and restore my datas...
LG firmware upgrade 4% emergency mode problem
I agree -- if you are considering upgrading your LG P500 Optimus One firmware, then I would suggest that if you are happy with the way your phone is working then it's not worth the risk of the problems that it could cause you.
In my case, like a previous post, I was going through the process of installing my first firmware upgrade for my Optimus phone -- it also stopped at 4% and there was another window in the background saying that the USB connection had failed (even though it was still connected). The phone was showing a yellow screen saying it was in "emergency mode". I had previously decided to do the upgrade after scanning the internet for any possible problems that people had with their LG firmware upgrades, and had read about the "emergency mode", but trusted the software to do it's job, so I was surprised that this was also happening to my phone. Luckily, after taking out the battery and restarting the phone, it booted up to my usual screen and I hadn't lost any data. It is not as responsive as it was before, sometimes apps don't respond, so something may have been written to the phone, though I don't want to go through the process like before and have problems occurring.
Therefore, my advice is to NOT upgrade firmware using the LG software until they can improve it and not have everyone facing these kinds of problems.
I tried to update my phone with the official software. Halfway through, it said it lost connection with the phone, and then after following the instructions, and taking out the battery and trying again, it said that the phone did not require updating. Unfortunately, it would turn on, being stuck at "Software Upgrading. . . ", so I had to use nvflash to sort it out. The LG update software is flakey, and I wouldn't risk using it!
so how to by pass the hanged phone now?
i encountered yesterday.
I also have freezes too often with software and i reported about it to LG and they just said "try with another computer"...
If my computer can't ****ing handle that **** bit soft then no other computer can i would say...
But thats LG and their taughts... bad devs!
i have the same problem, install freezes at 10% so so...
but had somebody deleted all the LG registry entries to try reinstall it????
i'll take a look at it
possible fix
I tried something and it started updating again. You should try to go to the "Customer Support" tab on the LGMobile Support Tool and click on "Recovery Phone." Now look on your phone for the IEMI # and enter that in the IEMI field, then hit check. It should start the update process again. Hope this works.
Stupid LG
To make it work use Windows XP or windows 7, then put the phone in upgrade mode (turn off, press volume + button and plug into usb) then hit retry on the ****ing tool

[Q] LG Optimus 4x HD issues - help appreciated

Hi. I hope someone can help me with this one.
I have a lovely LG Optimus 4x HD, on the 3 network in the UK. Got it just under a year ago, never had any problems before.
Yesterday, the network connection disappeared and the handset said SIM not present. Googled it. Found the issue may be something to do with IMEI having deleted itself, checked settings and sure enough it said IMEI unknown, network unknown, etc.
Phone core functionality was still present at this stage, able to get online using wi-fi, etc.
Downloaded LG Suite and LG Mobile Tools to PC in an attempt to fix, ran it and it said an update was required. I ran the update. Update died at 10% or thereabouts each time and instructs me to uplug, remove battery, and try again. No matter how many times I do this, it always hangs at 10%. Phone now stuck on S/W Update screen. Will not enter Recovery mode. On removing battery and powering up again, LG logo flashes up for about half a second with none of the usual switch-on vibration before reverting to S/W Update screen. Removing battery for 15 minutes before trying to switch on again makes no difference - straight to S/W Update screen. Upgrade Repair option in LG Mobile tools makes no difference, automatically tries to run through upgrade and hangs at 10%.
I have files on the phone I would like to preserve. PC no longer recognises phone as a file storage device, only as LG USB Modem. LG Mobile Tools can "see" the device when connected via USB.
Rang LG tech support this morning. Advised to send it in for repair. However I need my phone for emergency contact for family reasons. I'm hoping against hope that there's something I can do myself at home to "unblock" this S/W Update screen "loop" or whatever it is, so I can at least get the phone into Recovery mode or something.
Has anyone come across this fault with this handset before and heard of a resolution? Handset is mainstream model, not modded, cracked, hacked or rooted in any way. Can anyone think of anything I can try today to get my beloved handset back on track or should I just wait for the repair guys? Thanks in advance.
Try downloading a KDZ and flash using fastboot commands.

HTC m7 died - no red LED

Hi there,
i just want to know who had the same experience as i had.
We're talking about an HTC m7ul, CyanogenMod, Unlocked
I was trying "Dubstep Hero" as the phone suddenly freezed, even the sound was stuck.
Then it turn off without any warning.
First i tried to reboot it normally, nothing happend.
I guess, the battery should have had about 40%.
Next Chance i thougt would be to reboot into the Bootloader / Recovery (VolUp+Pwr).
Nothing happend. Then i tried to charge the Phone, no red LED came on.
I let the phone on the stock power adapter over night and gave it another try.
Still no reaction.
After that my last attempt to get it back to life with attaching it to my computer.
Nothing was recognized, "lsusb" wasn't able to find anything attached, which could be some kind of phone.
I also tried the variant with pressing buttons for several minutes, without success.
The Phone was about 365 days and 2 hours old.
Here in Germany there is a warranty of 2 years so i returned the phone where "Saturn" will send it to HTC or some other authorized Service Partner.
Hoping that it will be back soon and i don't have any issues about the custom ROM or stuff like that.
btw...
I tried to get an OnePlus One from Coolicool.com. Don't ever buy anything there.
I still got nothing, my only luck is that i paid with paypal.
They even have not shipped it since 3 weeks! Support promised, shipping has already been done...
Next Tuesday i will try to get my Money back.
Finally my Question to u:
Have u or Have u Had the same problems / issues?
Did your Phone came back to life?
What have you done to bring it back to life?
Sorry for my english, it's not that great
Hope you figure out, how things are meant to be..

ZVB stuck in bootloop?

Two nights ago I was on my way to the airport and my phone froze then shut off. No big deal, it does that sometimes. However, when I turned it back on, it would load up the LG "Life's Good" screen and then restart, over and over.
I loaded into recovery mode and did a factory reset, and cleared the cache. After that, it would go past the LG screen to the "Android is updating Apps" screen and count up the apps until a certain point (9/45 usually) then shut off completely.
I didn't have access to a computer for the past two days so I couldn't try anything else. This morning I used LGUP to upgrade the phone to ZVB (what I was already running). The update went through successfully, at least on the computer, but now the phone is stuck on the "Life's Good" screen again, this time it isn't rebooting, just stuck on that screen with the blue LED going on and off repeatedly.
Any ideas what might be wrong? Did I screw something up by factory resetting, or by using LGUP? Please help.

Sounds like tbe famous boot loop issue. Its a hardware problem known issue. Theres a thread on the general section about it. Take it to sprint or call lg. Should be repaired for free.
I agree with TheMadScientist420. This is the same thing that happened to me. Was rooted on ZV5, went to unplug from charging and the screen didn't turn on. Pulled the battery and it would loop at the LG screen. Never got the upgrading apps message.
Cleared cache to no avail. Then factory reset with the same issue. I opened a call with them on 06/09. Shipped it to their Texas service center on 06/10 from PA. They received it on 06/14 and repaired it on 06/17 . It was shipped to me on 06/20 and I received it on 06/23 so you're looking at a 2 week turnaround on your phone.

bootloader loop - motherboard fail - replacement phone?

this morning, put a photo on the phone and it went into restart by itself and looped the bootloader.
tried various things, reboot to TWRP with hw buttons. Got there a couple times.
Rebooted to system. Phone woke as normal. Then went back to bootloop immediately.
Tried without SD and SIM.
Same thing. Reinstalled SIM. Same thing.
Inevitably, I end up in a bootloop.
Did some searching and find there is a known issue with serials 505-507 and LG has replaced many phones.
Anyone have this experience?
Did you get a free of charge from LG or T-Mob or ?
well, Time will tell. Had an online chat with LG and it's on it's way back to Texas. Round trip supposedly 9 days.
it's back. so far so good. 20p. Unlocked and rooted as usual and back to the debloated stock 20p that MicroMod777 puy together
