No LTE? - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

There has been some LTE where I live for the past month. The only problem is that my phone isn't picking it up I've reset my phone, reset APN settings, made sure LTE was enabled, even went as far as switching out the Sim card. My brother has an LG G Flex that always picks up LTE. Something I did notice yesterday was when I put his Sim card in my phone it picked up LTE , once I reinserted my Sim card it was on LTE. It goes away when I'm talking on the phone or restart it. The rest of the family has other Samsung phones and they don't pick up LTE either. Could this be that the LG and the other Samsung phones are on different LTE bands or something else? Any help is appreciated! ☺

Maybe their modems could be the problem or their proximity distance might not be as good as the LG?

Tmobile N6 on VZW LTE problem.

Hey guys,
Picked up a tmobile N6 today and successfully activated it on VZW. Had to cut my S4 simcard to fit. Everything seems to be working well (other than voice and data at the same time nbd) except LTE speeds are painfully slow. I'm getting a lot of time outs while loading play store, etc.
Any ideas how to fix this issue? I am in an area with a strong LTE signal. WIFI speeds are normal.
Don't tell me this. I just ordered the T-Mobile unlocked version for my Verizon line. I already have a nano Sim because of my current device. Maybe its something to do with the mobile data settings? Have u checked ur settings?
Maybe its your sim card?
I trimmed my Sim card as well and have no issues. I did have the Sim card in before the first power up though. Maybe a factory reset.. Bought mine from Google though.

sounds like your local providers issue today. 1. you are connected to verizon. 2, you are receiving data. so your connection is actually fine. the issue is with your local data speeds. try calling your provider and asking them whats up, if it is not the way your network is normally. they could just be having an issue today.
Update:
Not having the issue anymore. Just had to do a couple restart and the speed issue was resolved. I was thinking maybe a network issue but my wife's S4 wasn't experiencing the same problem.

3G connectivity problem | getting "!" symbol in the network | India

Hi Guys,
I'm using Airtel India network (karnataka)
I'm unable to get 3g connectivity from past 6 days and as we all know 4g is not supported in Nexus 6.
Only 2g is getting connected and surprisingly my sim card is working fine with 3g network with other handsets i checked.
I have tried contacting airtel several times and have not got any response apart from stating that everything is fine at their end.
I just wanna know if this a handset problem or the network issue ?? and how to fix it
Does anybody else facing same issue?
Just to clarify something, the Nexus 6 does have 4G. It displays "LTE" on the signal strength meter when 4G is connected.
What steps have you taken to diagnose the problem? We have no way of knowing whether the handset has gone bad or the network is having problems without some work from you. For instance, have you tried a new SIM? Have you checked your APN? Done a factory reset?
Well my Nexus 6 didnt pick up signal from my sim card. Sim card is working in other phone so visited the service centre and they inserted another sim and the signal was not picked either. Now the phone is in service centre.
Now for the surprise part!!!!
the other phone which i inserted my sim card is a new box piece of MI redmi Note 3 which worked fine until now. Now i'm getting 3G symbol in this phone as well and nothing is getting connected. lost LTE connection and not getting connected.
LTE never worked in my Nexus 6 and was not aware i could use 4g in Nexus 6 since i am using 4G enabled sim and never got LTE connectivity (PS i stay in India).
I'm lost now.
Your SIM could be damaged. It's not common, but SIM cards do fail. I had it happen on another device and lost voice and data until I could get a new SIM. Fortunately for me the SIM didn't damage the equipment, which again isn't common, but possible.
The fact your new device is exhibiting the same symptoms as your Nexus and only doing so after inserting the SIM leads to one inescapable fact: your SIM is damaged. When your Nexus is returned to you, get a new SIM.
Nexus 6 does support LTE in India through 1800 MHz Band, ie Idea and Vodafone.
Airtel is using 2300 MHz which is not supported by the Nexus 6, that's why you are not able to latch on to Airtel LTE.

trying to connect Samsung tab s2 (smt819) to vodafone 4g no joy

Hi there, well I got this new tablet and its pretty good apart from I cant get vodafone 4g to work on it... I got a 4g data plan put the sim in and only got H+ max... when I put the sim in it said due to sim change/new sim will need to update settings but as the device doesnt do it automatically will have to do manually but vodafone doesnt show any settings info on their site when I clicked on the link... spoke with vodafone a few times and so far no luck even though they say the tablet supports 4g and they support the tab... now I swapped my phones sim with the tab sim and at first my phone wouldnt do 4g either till I installed the settings they texted me across (phone supports auto settings) and then the data card got 4g... but the phone card in the tab didnt and did the same message saying get the settings which I cant do as they are not on the vodafone site... anyone have any idea? many thanks
ok so after a lot of searching it appears it might be the fact that the tablet I ordered does not in fact come with b20 (800dd) which is what pretty much all the providers in the UK uses... I think this is hardware and not firmware related (is this correct) so I might have to return it... the tablet was advertised as having the 800 freq range so I either need to deal with H+ or return... ffs just set it all up too...

Samsung note 9 N9600 VZW network issue

Hi guys,
My toy is a samsung note N 9600 and its factory unlocked. Last week ported out from T-mobile to keep my original number and facing a wried issue.
The day I ported out from T-mobile, VZW network couldnt be recognized when I tried to activate the VZW sim card. "No network connection." and no call or text can be made. However, after I RESET my device to factory model, it SUCCESSFULLY recognized VZW and LTE function works well. Sounds wried? The story doesnt end here.
Yesterday after I turned off the VZW sim card by accident-- n9600 is a dual sim card which allows you to turn either sim card off-- the network connection lost again, im not talking about LTE connection, but all network service including internet, phone call and text function. Tried a lot to get the connection back but failed. Guess what? RESET, THEN VZW comes back!!! Being driven by curiosity, I turned off the sim card agian, and then, as my expect, no network connection. Ok, rest---works---turning off sim card---no connection---reset……
I am really annoyed by this and have no idea why it is. So if anyone of you have clue of it, plz let me know. Thank you in advance!
Teddy
No one experienced same issue before?

Mi 9 cant activate with LTE on AT&T network?

So I got a Chinese edition phone with band 2, 4, 5, 12, and 17 to fully support both TMobile and ATT network. The Global edition was missing band 17 for ATT so I didnt want to go that route. Been going back and forth with ATT a bit for the past few days since my device came in. The phone shows up and an "unknown device" on their network when we tried adding the IEMI. It will get UMTS (2g) and HSPA+ (3Gish/4G), but will not connect to any LTE or GSM. The phone supports GSM fine, so its strange that it wont do normal cellular connection over that, it will only do cellular over UMTS. The device wont detect as an LTE device and so the sim wont activate LTE on it.
Anyone else with ATT have this issue? And were you able to resolve it somehow?
Or those with TMobile in the US, are you able to activate the phone fine and get full coverage and LTE working?
I messed around with the connection settings in the *#*#4636#*#* menu. Only the "LTE/TD-SCDMA/UMTS" and "LTE/TD-SCDMA/WCDMA" will work properly at all. Both options give me UMTS for cellular, and HSPA+ for data. Of the 4 APNs that ATT uses, only the "ATT Phone" will work at all. The standard LTE APN "NXTGENPHONE" will leave the phone with no data or cellular service. This is related to the phone not being detected as an LTE device and the SIM not activating as such.
I simply put my AT&T sim in my China version and it worked straightaway. I didn't have to do anything else.
I am on Cricket, which leases service from AT&T, so I should know if it works once it comes Tuesday.
Just for perspective, I got a EU version of the Mi 9. Popped in a T-Mobile sim and it worked out of the box. Try the other sim slot. Could be your sim card if not.
Try these codes in Dialer. See if that helps anything.
VoLTE *#*#86583#*#*
VoWIFI *#*#869434#*#*
I was just making an ATT account so no previous activations or sims. So that could be the issue. I will try activating a sim with an old phone and then move the sim over. Or since it is the same hardware as a Galaxy S10, ill see if I can find a store that will activate a sim with a floor model S10 and then let me swap the sim into my Mi 9
Straight talk (ATT sim) lte without issue. no programming necessary , I have the global model though

Where did you guys buy the China version from?
US mobile white SIM from starter kit (T-Mobile) works well with LTE on Chinese model of Mi 9. Black one (Verizon) technically works, registers in the network and enables data, but Verizon refuses the IMEI as non-certified brand of the phone. Trick with activation on the iphone first and switching to xiaomi did not work, service gets cut off, when trying to make a call, it keeps dropping. AT&T based: Cricket and Straight Talk work just fine too.

Thanks for the info.
I was wondering about Verizon, since it support some CDMA bands and support 2 out of 3 of the LTE bands they use (doesnt support B13). Unfortunately I never tried it myself since half the coverage near me uses the band this phone doesnt support on Verizon.
I went and got my ATT account updated to an old Nexus 6 IMEI number and it got LTE on the N6. I then took the sim and put it in my Mi 9 and now the Mi 9 has LTE. So for anyone just getting this phone, you must have an IMEI on your account that is recognized as an LTE phone. If you try to add the IMEI of the Mi9 it is not recognized by ATT and wont provision LTE.
IMEI spoofing does not work with Verizon, as they simply ban the device. They call it “non certified”. Bands are seem ok.

I been purchasing from liaow. Never ran across a issue with them
I've been having the same issue, with a recently-bought (last week arrived) Mi 9 Global on AT&T postpaid. LTE showed up and worked fine day one, now network speeds are dropped down to 3.5G speeds. Anyone else have success with getting LTE on a fresh SIM?
