Hello guys I have shifted to galaxy note from iPhone and note is my first android phone. I have read too many posts and advantages of rooting so I have decided to root my gnote and install ics stunner rom on it. Can anyone suggest me the easiest method to do so as I'm a complete newbie at rooting and I want to play it safe and also suggest me whther or not to root. My kernel version is DDLB2.
Thanks...

Flash pre-rooted stock rom with PC Odin.
Search the dev section for pre-rooted rom thread.

Hey guys, Recently my dad got a Galaxy Note (N7000) and he has been complaining about The Note 2 getting jelly bean and stuff.
I already rooted it for him with Superuser.
I want to install a custom rom for him but I read a lot of topics saying that theres a very high chance on bricking your device using CWM and stuff.
If anyone could post a step by step guide, That would be super-appreciated, Thank you in advance.

Search for liquidsmooth rom and flash it. It's a great rom and very smooth as it's name.
{Helpful, thank me}

He's already rooted and on stock kernel, if he tries to flash a ROM using above CWM.zip or does factory reset on it, he will brick his device.
Best advice is to go Here, download PhilZ-cwm6-DXLR5-OLB-2.7-signed.zip (that's the one that is compatible with his ROM) and put it on external SD card. From there, boot into recovery mode, and flash Philz kernel from external storage. (It's the only one that can be flashed from stock recovery). Then phone will be fully rooted with safe stock kernel and safe CWM recovery. Only then should any attempt be made to flash ROMs from recovery.
Re: CWM.zip READ THIS
Easiest for me is to flash ICS of your choice using Odin. Then flash speedmod-kernel-n7000-ics-k3-13-Odin.tar using Odin. Select PDA in Odin to use this file. Google it up. Double check that the file you get is for ICS N7000 and that it is the Odin version.
The end result will be a rooted ICS that you can safely wipe. It also has Clockworkmod installed. This allows you to flash custom JB roms. You may get a yellow triangle upon reboot. Just buy Triangle Away on Google Play store. Reset the counter using the app.
But flashing philz from stock doesn't result in triangle, raised counter and need for triangle away. Surely easier

If he has to ask what is xxLRG, thr i wont even advice him to flash custom roms.
Sell the Note and get your father a Note2. Chances are, he will complain of so many things "not normal" once in custom rom, etc.

Hey everyone!
I just got my Galaxy Note back from my dad and I wanted to update it with the latest stock firmware or ROM, whichever is the best running for now.
I currently have DDLSC installed on it. Can you guys help me deciding which stock firmware to install on my device?
Also, if I want to install a custom ROM on the phone, which one would you recommend?
Keep using the rom that you are using you can try mods after rooting it from themes and apps section... For custom rom try them to understand... Best rom thread not allowed..

Hello All,
I recently purchased Note 3 and it came with 4.3 jb, lucky I thought it should come preinstalled kk by now.
The device I rooted are kingo root program and successful rooted and ss. The rom I use firenote v9 rom.
I read lot of threads talking about kk. Was upgrading to kk worth it for some rom? The s5 rom has some wakelocks. Wasnt too sure if I go ahead and try it out.
Any recommendations?

The kk roms here are based off of the leak, not the official one just making that clear so try not to update yet to official if you want to keep root and flashing roms. As for recommendations i would suggest you try them all and see which one you like the best. Welcome here dude have fun.

Some of them have the official base. They are not complete as far as official goes, but most of everything under the hood is NC2.

OK so I bricked my first nexus and now I'm on my second one. I now flashed Chroma ROM and I love it, however in the future should I ONLY flash 5.1 AOSP based Roms? I'm trying to not brick my phone like I did my first one. Ant tips will be highly appreciated.
