[Q] home button fault after OTA update - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

HI all
I recently updated to 4.2.3 from stock 4.1.2? I believe, and I have been having a problem with the home button rapidly being pressed on its own, it usually when im on the internet or downloading. ive read this is a problem when the phone is looking for a network mode?
the phone was fine before the update.
now being on 4.2.3 with S-On, I don't know what to do. I have a red htc one which is on any network and the only thing I could possibly think of is to downgrade back to stock that the phone came with? ive had a look around and cant find an answer, with the one ive seen having to use a mouse through otg as touch screen will not work because of being S-On?
anyway any help would be appreciated if anyone has previously had this problem before and found a fix

[Q] HELP - Home Button not working after flasing

Hi everyone,
After flashing my Galaxy i9000 with various firmwares and finally finding one that was ok for my phone, I found out that my Home Key no longer works, and the Back Key acts as my home key.
This is really unfortunate, since I can´t even use Android Recovery Mode, since I need the Home Key to confirm my selection.
Also, I´m sure it´s not a hardware issue. My phone is 3 days old, and it works fine with other firmwares.
I´ve searched the forum for hours with no luck, so any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks a lot.

You obviously flashed captivate/vibrant firmware.
Or wrong theme oe battery icon
I don´t think it´s a captivate/vibrant firmware. I donwloaded I9000XWJG1 and still have the home button problem.

[Q] Black screen, phone unresponsive

Hi,
I have a I9000 on TMobile in the UK. Not rooted, just been upgraded to ICS with the official firmware.
Ever since then I've been randomly getting a black screen - i.e. phone doesn't respond to any of the buttons to turn the screen on. Only way to get the phone to work again is a battery pull. Haven't installed any apps from prior to ICS, and prior to ICS I didn't have this problem.
I'm guessing no one's going to have a simple answer to this (although it would be great if anyone does, I've searched and haven't found anything) - but any tips on trying to identify what the cause is? Could it be a bad app maybe?
I tried logcat but didn't really understand it (!) and I wasn't sure if it would record what happened before a battery pull anyway.
Any tips to help get the bottom of this would be much appreciated
Many thanks
Andrew

Apologies./

Hey guys!
I got an HTC Hero a few days ago, i wanted to update the software but during the process when it was installing bootloader, it said error, then the phone turned off, and no reaction to anything since then.
Is there a solution for my problem?
Please help me if you know how to solve this!
Thanx!

Can you boot to recovery? Hold home + power on. What about fastboot? Volume up + home + power on?
There is an ruu around here somewhere if you need it
Sent by Logo the turtle
Here is the .5 rru,
rom.zip (rename to HERCIMG.zip to flash in hboot
and here is the .exe
HTC Sprint Hero MR 2.27.651.5.exe
compleated howetsi
As i said: "no reaction since then", i tried everything, no sound, no turning on, no recovery, not even a little vibration, nothing. It's like when the battery is absolutely dead, but it's fully charged, and brand new...
And one more thing, since the "accident", when i plug in the charger, the LED does not light, so i guess its not getting charged
Sounds like you might have ran an gsm ruu, can you post the link to were you got the ruu from? Or which ruu did you run?
#Root-Hack_Mod*Always\=LTE
The problem is much more bigger
So i gave the Hero to a guy who has a riff box, and he tried to fix it (he tried for a week, 2 or 3 times a day), but he couldn't even connect to the phone via the riff box, and he said when the usb cable is connected, the motherboard and the battery gets hot very soon.
Anybody got an idea what could be the problem?

possibly bricked HTC 626G+

hey guys!
Unfortunately last night my rooted HTC 626 got a OTC update and after installing it the phone will not start back up. I tried some of the methods mentioned in the other threads but it still not turning on.
I tried connecting to the computer and trying to use the hard key reset, neither had no effects whatsoever, only the red light turns on at this point.
Does this mean my phone is Bricked ? and if so is there anyway to fix this?
I've only had it for like 2 months and I cant afford a new phone!! :crying:
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance!!

I have a similar problem but with HTC 620G dual sim.
I can't even find RUU for HTC 620G but the RUUs I've tried don't even seem to detect the phone.

Wifi stuck trying to turn on.

Has anyone ever encountered this problem? I tried restarting the tablet and powering off completely. Nothing has worked. The last time it happened i deleted some random 3rd party apps and it magically switched on. But i havent downloaded anything new and my tablet is very close to original. It is the 9.7 inch us cellular version. I want to check for an update but without wifi, i cant do much. Thanks in advance for any pointers.
Had this problem with the 8 inch version. Shutting off the Samsung power saving app resolved ot for me. Look at my post history, it should be a recent thread that I started where I documented what to turn off. YMMV.
Thanks for the suggestion. The wifi magically was on again today. The only thing i had done was took the sim card out, rebooted and left it sit. Wifi did not come on initially so i dont know how long it took but hopefully it keeps working
Well it quit working again after rooting and flashing a custom rom. Ive read the wifi chip could have a bad solder. Anyone else have any input?

I would flash back to complete stock before making any assumptions.
WiFi is highly dependent on the device firmware.
