Help! my son ruined my LG Optimus 4X HD - LG Optimus 4X HD

So he was trying to install the "latest android" but he only managed to ruin the phone, it doesn't turn on, it just stays at the LG logo screen with some red text on the top left corner that says: " [LGE_SECURITY] ERROR: boot image signature Critical Failure: unable to start kernel. Unrecoverable bootloader: error (0x00000002)." He says he saw a tutorial on this board that explained how to "unlock and jailbreak" the phone so that he could install anything on it, problem is he didn't follow the instructions properly he forgot to "unlock the bootloader" whatever that means and now the phone won't start, any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi,
I have a feeling he may have flashed a lollypop image not made for that device. If so, a service center may be the only way to fix the device hopefully.
I will have your thread moved to your device section for other opinions.... Here,
> LG Optimus 4X HD > Optimus 4X HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!

There is some kind of lg protection in bootloader, it says same thing if you flash custom recovery (I think in your case kernel) without unlocking bootloader. (it happend to me when I was unlocking my phone)
Anyway you can easily fix it by flashing stock rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069723
Just advice for you if you try to flash it - there is a step in that tut where you put out battery - I wasn't able to power on my O4x without battery (of course connected to pc), so I did it with battery in phone. Just power off your mobile and hold volume down button and connect to your pc.

Softely Unbrick XT890 Razr i - Really Unbrick the Zombie

Well do not think that this thread is one among others. It's my experience when i messed up with my Razri. I wish I had this before, so I'm sharing it with you !
Every has his experience and a way to do it, so this is mine
First I searched everywhere, as you already did, the technique is globally the same but one important thing was missing and I had to get my Razri ON, it's an "Intel" !
I tried this app to install the needed drivers and to flash firmware, and I tried also this
Just let me explain what i had before the "softbrick" just to assure you that your Razri is not dead and it's up to you to bring it up from the dead and you can do that
I softbricked it by rooting my JB android with ICS, I messed up, in you case might be different but you are here cause we all had the same problem
Well, if your Razri Motorola XT890 cannot boot (or keeps rebooting with no end), charging the battery is [im]possible. Below is a quick how-to
RSD Lite detects the Razri as a "MEDFIELD" device. You can use RSD Lite to flash your phone whith a new Android Image [JB here, for "JB 4.1.2" I choose "CFC_9.8.2I-50_SMI-26_S7_USASMIJBRTEU.xml.zip"] but this is doable only after getting to the fastboot menu
1. Install EXE drivers for the "MEDFIELD" device
2. Run BAT file and follow the instructions inside
3. You might restart you Razri
You need to use the wright ifwi & dnx file, so I included those for JB (and not for ICS and if you did you will get "Service code corrupt" error but don't worry you have just to get the good version of ifwi&dnx for your android version)
Just to say, for everyone who has this trouble, and thinks that his Razri is dead, good new It is not, but remember that to make this work that fastboot menu is in there, somewhere just use the right combination, no matter what you have on the screen (Bootloader Unlocked screen or nothing at all just a black screen)
This is a little How-To:
Power botton+Volume Down botton at the same time
Wait until the screen flashes or the green led light to flash the immediately release the Power button while keeping the Volume down pushed (do not release ever) until the fastboot menu appears
Good Luck

Hi
do you have any solution for "service required code corrupt" plz
thanx
If you've tried to root your JB Motorola RAZR I with the ICS root-method don't worry. The ICS-root-method flash a unsave boot image, which is for the ICS firmware. That's why the RAZR with JB have problems to boot.
To make everything working again, you need:
- RAZR I PC driver
- fastboot (PC program)
- the right boot image for your JB version. (e.g. retail.EU) (download the right version from firmware-thread and search for a file "boot.img" )
If you have everything prepared do the following things:
- start your RAZR I (make sure, that it doesn't boot into bootloop)
- connect your RAZR I to your PC
- on PC start a command line/terminal and (for windows users) navigate in the directory with the fastboot.exe and make sure that the boot.img file is in the same directory
(Linux users navigate into the directory with the boot.img)
- type: fastboot flash boot boot.img
- wait until it's done
- reboot the device by typing: fastboot reboot
And that's it. Your personal data won't be touched, everything is like it was before.

It's probably beacause tou updated your Formware with the wrong version, try this out:
You need to use the wright ifwi & dnx file, so I included those for JB (and not for ICS and if you did you will get "Service code corrupt" error but don't worry you have just to get the good version of ifwi&dnx for your android version) ==> You can get it from de XML file form sbf.droid-developers.org/smi/list.php it depends in which android version you were befor, in my case i took "CFC_9.8.2I-50_SMI-26_S7_USASMIJBRTEU.xml.zip"
So you have to Unzip it and there you'll find the ifwi & dnx files
Nice

[Q] Phone stuck on LG screen "Now Ready!"

Hello guys!
As you can read in the title i have a problem with my phone being stuck at the LG bootscreen with a little text in the top right hand corner saying "Now Ready!". On the PC fastboot recognizes the device (fastboot devices), but when I try to flash anything on it (boot/recovery) it says, that the bootloader is locked. The bootloader of my phone is definitely not locked, otherwise I could not have flashed CWM Touch Recovery and custom ROMs.
Before this happened (in this order)
- I had Paranoid Android 3.99 Android 4.3 for p880 installed
- I wanted to try and install MultiRom v12 for p880
- I made a complete backup of all data (so data is not my problem)
- I wiped EVERYTHING (system, boot, recovery) using "fastboot erase [partition]"
I can't even get to the S/W Upgrade screen to reset the firmware to v20B anymore. Recovery is also gone and I can't flash a new one.
Oh, and by the way: ADB doesn't recognize my phone either so I can't do "adb shell".
Help is very appreciated!

If your PC recognizes the phone, you should be able to start Kdz Firmware update tool, even without putting your device in f/w upgrade mode..connect it to your pc via sub cable, try to hard reboot it long-pressing power button, then:
1) try to reboot it while pressing down volume key;
2) if nothing happens, try to reboot normally, then start Kdz Fw update tool, and try to see if update starts..it should work, I think..

You didn't unlock a bootloader but you've installed custom recovery.
Use a KDZ to flash stock ROM.

thats the problem now. 3 months ago that i wanted to unlock the bootloader , i just typed : adb drivers and got them. now if u search for adb drivers u will find a million posts that say nothing, because no one searches. since 3 months ive seen at least more 20 posts about unlocking the bootloader......... anyway. go download android sdk , the 32 bit version even if u r on windows x64. install , run, update it. u will get the drivers right. after that u can easily unlock the bootloader and install team win recovery or cyanogen recovery. use the all in one toolkit of afro. thats all.

If you flashed an aboot.bin or abootb.bin then you've really screwed up. Take or send to the nearest LG Service Center. There is no flashing of anything required to unlock the bootloader on the LG-D415. Only enabling fastboot and issuing the oem unlock command is required to unlock the LG-D415.

Help with soft bricked L90

Let me start by saying I am not a developer and have never even rooted a phone. A google search led me to this forum, and I hope someone here may be able to help me. I am not familiar with some of the terminology, but I am an engineer, so I can understand the concepts.
My L90 D415 died last night and is stuck with the following text on the screen:
[10800] fastboot_init()
[10900] USB init ept @ 0xffd8000
[10920] udc_start()
I downloaded the USB driver from the LG website, and the phone shows up in Device Manager as Marshall London Bootloader Interface.
I got several more lines on the screen when I plugged and unplugged the USB cable, including "fastboot: oops!" I'm guessing that's not good.
I have no clue what to do next. TIA for any help with this.
D415 is a PITA to unbrick. As it shows fastboot you may be able to flash TWRP custom recovery to flash a custom ROM. But first try to start the phone in download mode to flash stock KDZ, it's explained in another thread.
If you can't then probably your phone's partition table is messed up, join other threads where people are trying to unbrick it.
