I have had all except for the new one.
Dropped it in the toilet about six months ago, and haven't messed with it until last week. Works perfectly.
It's currently rooted with some unknown rom, and I would like to update everything to whatever is the most stable while not using a lot of resources.
How can I go about updating my Android system to this? I have SafeStrap (I think?) installed. As it asks me about it every time I boot.
Here's what's listed in the "About Device" column of my Settings

does anyone know how to fix the network on the hero. My 3g is not working , i tried to uncheck and check it on the settings menu. I had also re-installed the rom i was using and still cant get it to work. if anyone can help me please. message me..
Thank you
What ROM is it because some of the ROM do have issues.
Did u add any tweaks or kernels to ur ROM?
Did u get 3g on previous ROMs?if so which ones?
What prl and baseband are u using?
I can also suggest trying other ROMs.... but I cannot suggest until I know what ur current ROM is.
Thx

im using this Rom. [ROM] aospMod | AOSP 2.2.1 (Froyo). here is the link.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=782320
well everything was working fine. its just happen two days ago...well thanks for the help. and no i havent added new kernels..its all basic how the rom is.
thanks
Flash back to ur backup of the stock ROM to test it.
If u don't have that backup then flash a "sense" ROM like liquid sense or nfx. This is if u call sprint for help the dialer codes they will have u input will work since dialer codes only work on the "sense" ROM.
Once u get it working on the sense ROM, make sure u do a backup of it and save a copy on ur computer as well for emergency purposes.
Now u can reflash the ROM u had or any other one h want.

i would also call sprint and make sure its not something on there side its pretty rare that a rom would cause full data loss.

Before calling sprint, do as Bierce suggested and update profile and prl. It may solve your problem.

After you download a stock sense Rom ( like nfx), go to about phone in settings. and then system updates or whatever its called and start updating. Did you ever do an update while running stock? Same thing.
You think Meth is bad? Try being a flash whore with a Gingerbread habit and a legacy device! It ain't pretty.
I'm going to assume you got this working again, but if you're still having issues, you can get your MSL code using this guide (actually pretty easy)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6607745&postcount=1
Then, once you are on a sense rom, go to dialer and type ##786#. This should take you to a menu. When on that menu (if not prompted right away), press menu and select reset. Enter your MSL code as the password and commit. This will "Factory Reset" your phone. May well get the data back up after the hand's free activation processes again.
Hi all.
I have Samsung galaxy s i9000 (GT-I9000).
I'm currently using pilotX rom. IBut it has a lot of problems.
So I want to try darky's rom.
What is the most stable one?
What kernel should I use?
Is there a step by step guide for installation?
Thanks,
FeL.

This one is good. and stable. Dont try to restore applications if you have a backup. Better install from the beginning..

It doesnt mean that ... you can try to restore, but if you are facing any problem after restoring, like fc, random boot or lag then you have to worry about the restore. Normally for better performance use a fresh install (it is only my experience). If you are flashing the same version then no problem you can restore the application.

Totally disagree as 10.2 RE backs up all previous data on your SD, How ever it is recommended to use titanium back up for your apps

You can restore from a backup just not a nand one from another rom use titanium backup and save all your apps (system data from CM7 etc will cause problems if you try and restore it) then restore once darkyRom has been flashed.
titanium backup has the nice feature of creating an update zip to flash in CWM after install
Hi, I am also in the same situation. I have been using PilotX for around a month now, but I am still not satisfied with my phone's performance. So I am considering installing Darky.
Did you succeed installing it? The main things I am trying to figure out now are:
1. Do I will need to install a special modem to make it work with Pelephone's network in Israel (my original phone used baseband I9000TJJJP3 if that says anything; with PilotX I now have I9000TUBJV6).
2. Since I am now on a different custom ROM, should I go back to my provider's stock ROM before proceeding with install, or does it not matter?
3. Any extra things to install for Hebrew support? (I don't need Hebrew menus, just properly rendering right-to-left in emails and messages).
I should probably start my own thread with questions (or read up some more about it first), but if you've gone through it now maybe you have tips.
Thanks

Hi.
Sorry for the late answer.
1.I got Pelephone also. No need for special modem.
2. Just follow the manual.
3. You will need an rtl fix that you can find easily, and install hebrew layout for your keyboard.
Felix.

Hi everyone
I've Rooted device
every time starting Kies i got notified to upgrade
Current firmware : PDA:LPD / PHONE:LPT / CSC:LP7 (XSG)
Latest firmware : PDA:LR8 / PHONE:LRK / CSC:LR8 (XSG)
is it safe to upgrade to latest version not affecting rooting
please advice
thx
It's safe using lies but you will loose root and will have to re root again.
It if you want you can download the latest software using sammobile.com and flash it using mobile odin. It can retain root using certain settings.

Make sure you are on a safe kernel when on stock ics roms
Kies updates to or while on ics have known to cause bricks. As nokiamodeln91 says, make sure you're on a safe kernel.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
No, don't do it. I have done that things once and I felt so stupid cause the entire system flipped. A golden rule is, once you get your things from xda
, stick to xda and if you want samsung updates also stick to stock roms.
When I first got my note I had this problem but found some fix to stop it. Now i upgraded and now have a rom on it and I am having this problem all over again. I have factory reset my phone 3 times and I am still getting it. I was hopping we had a sticky on about this but I am not able to fix a fix. Would anyone be able to tell me how to fix this.
Thanks in advance.
Hmm, I would wipe again, then flash a stock rom and try to go from there
Well I have wiped 2 times. I'm rooted with nc2. I'm using undroids rim which is stock. I will see if I can get a 100% stock rom though.
I will try to find you a leaked stock ROM [emoji4]

When i got my note 3 in april i had this problem but found some way to fix it. I then updated to 4.4 and after having problem with google maps force closing on me all the time when trying to use it I though I should do a factory reset.
After the reset I started to have this problem again. I then though maybe if i rooted and then got a good rom I might be able to fix it.
I just tried by doing a factory reset from stock recover and will see if that helps.
Thanks for the links of the rom.
If you're looking for a great ROM that's customizable go with DynamicKat 4.1, Im currently running DynamicKat 4.1 with the Orange GPE theme. I get great battery life and very fast and smooth. Also I would recommend them AllianceROM as well. It's just as customizable.
Here is the links for both ROMS
Alliance ROM:

Looks like DynamicKat is a nc2 build. I might just have to try that out. Thanks for the info
No problem my friend [emoji4]
Well I installed the DynamicKat rom and I still get the screen freeze. Whats funny is when it happens I can still use the stylist but just not my finder. I wish I could remember what I did before to make the problem go away. Maybe I just have to keep resetting my phone till I get it right. I hope there is a fix for this. Make me not want to get another samsung phone and this is my 4th one.
Hmm it might be hardware related and not software.. But im unsure myself, maybe do some research on google and see if anyone else has had this problem
DK 4.1, GPE Orange, Xposed, xgel, and other great extras
Hi,
I bought a J1 Mini (SM-105Y) as a stopgap cheapo phone last year when my long-suffering Galaxy Note IV decided to finally throw in the towel.
The thing is crazy slow with stock Droid. Is there any sense in even trying to put a custom ROM on it, or will this be more trouble than it's worth? I've gotten TWRP working, but can't seem to find any mainstream-ish custom OS that works with this phone. Or should I just leave well enough alone and keep it around as a backup phone?
Thanks for any suggestions.
Hi
@johnsalomon
How did you get TWRP running? I've got a SM-J105Y but I can't get it to work
can confirm v2.8.5.0 running on my sm-j105y
be aware versions can be hit or miss
