Nope. In the future it'll be available with custom ROMs.
Kinda, in developer option click force RTL layout ? only thing I can think of.

That works perfectly thank you. I now might keep the Nexus 6 thanks to that fix. After I installed multi Window and Nova Launcher I am very happy now! Really torn between this and the Note Edge.

Won't need a custom ROM is Xposed ever gets updated to work with Lollipop.

I was totally loving your suggestion about RTL... Until I noticed the notification bar. I can't do it, lol. Thank you, though. You almost made my day. Literally one of the features I'm dying for ROMs to start implementing.

This is probably a dumb question (not a lot of rooting/dev experience here) but how do I get that RTL feature to work. I have a Nexus 6 running Android 5.0, new as can be, and looking to help my normal-sized hands by putting the back button on the right.
By the way, just to give some helpful advice for one-handed use of a phone this size: Nova Launcher, Swiftkey (right-sided mode), and I just ordered the Minisuit Tactic Handstrap Wallet (on Amazon, $8) and it looks like it'll be super thin/flush with phone (or case) and allow me to put my finger(s) through for tethering. Yes, I know that these phones are large and meant to be used that way, but Android is awesome for customization and you can do just as much with the exterior of the phone as well
I just want the option to move the buttons closer together, that would be great
If you change your dpi to 380 it forces the N6 into tablet mode and the buttons are closer together

Does anyone know where in the ROM files we would be able to edit the nav bar so that we can "hardcode" the back button to the right side?

The process took less then 2 minutes from registering to downloading - have it now and about to install.
Looks ok.
I think Thumb Keyboard has a lot more functionality (directional keys, readily accessible punctuations, @ symbol, parentheses, .com key with extras [.net, .org, .etc) when longpressed and all other 'tabbed' symbols just require a longpress, too.
Just MHO.
Here are some screen shots just not a big fan of the full screen text input. Would also like split me keyboard in portrait.

It needs some work still, I was on a closed beta (which I think I can admit), and of course, now use the open beta available on the forum.
But despite the issues with sizing and the alternate keys for symbols and stuff, the predictive text is still like the number one need when typing on a tablet, and it is so much more useful than stock. I don't use split mode atm, because of the key sizes, but I'm hoping I'll like that once they get it worked out.

The common theme seems to be the small buttons are an issue. Hopefully they will make th necessary adjustments.
I'm sure they will, it was among the first comments in the closed beta. I'm using standard layout for now.
Also, nobody can deny... SwiftKey's style on the Xoom is freaking awesome.
So, been wondering for a while. When will the next big "Customized" ROM occur? We've already gotten MIUI and its pretty cool, but wouldn't you want to see something new? Something not based off of iOS or Android in general but still able to to run on Android? Something fresh, new, never before seen? I've no idea what it would look like or how it would run, but maybe you guys do? A "Wish list" if you will, the appearance, how it preforms (keep in mind Hardware limitations of various phones), etc.
I guess I can (dream) start:
-The next potential Cyanogenmod but appears nothing like your standard Android OS
-Running on ICS and JB?
Just bored and I wanna see what some people can come up with. Maybe if a talented developer or a group of them could come together to pull something off? (One can only imagine)

There's a limit to what a developer can do with the Android source code, especially with a biannual release schedule. I'm not sure there will be anything radically different any time soon. If Google switches to one major update a year it might be possible.
I've always thought ParanoidAndroid looked cool but never tried it. It's a tablet hybrid ROM for phone.

If you mean Sony's XCMB it probably won't happen. They aren't exactly fans of outside development.
Something like Windows phone? The UI I mean, its pretty "outside the box" a ROM that's "never before seen" A status bar that is accessible via swiping from the left or right? A Facebook friendly ROM? (Will never happen unless FB releases source code) Let your ideas flow!

Haha, you mentioned a Facebook friendly ROM I think we'll just stick with the crappy app.
yay, my dad got my a 32gb for xmas! anywho I'm really liking it and the responsiveness of AOKP so far! i have to say, i had the most frustrating time rooting it though (i'm no noob to rooting anything btw), never had so much trouble. the rootkits weren't able to adb to my tablet and were giving me problems for about 3 hours. i finally said "**** it" i'll just unlock with fastboot and put twrp on it the manual way (which only took about 3 minutes).
anywho! i've been on jelly bean for a few months now on my sprint sgs3 (4.1.2), so i'm not new to jellybean at all. but, i am new to 4.2.1. is that quick settings pulldown thingy new to 4.2.1 or is that nexus 7 feature that most roms have? i find it quite annoying since i usually use my right thumb to pull down the notification bar, but often find myself not reaching far enough left to avoid pulling down the settings bar. are there ROMs that give us the option of moving those settings widgets back to the notification menu or disabling the quick settings menu? im on AOKP and haven't seen it yet.
im really looking forward to trying out all the different roms that are available!
It's new to 4.2.1. Hope you like it.

Yea, setting up the drivers for it were a *****, had a hard time on two computers at work then used Wug's toolkit and installed the drivers manually. I did have to manually reboot into fastboot to install the drivers and reboot after all the drivers were all installed, but in the end that was the best way I found to do it; had no errors and it did warn that I may have to reboot for all to work correctly.

Hey guys, I got my n6 yesterday and besides a few curious apps not working things have been mostly great.
One thing that is bugging the hell out of me is the power control widget is missing. Anyone know where I can get it to side load? Why would google remove this? Just makes no sense to me.

Google may not have removed it, it may simply not be compatible with the N6 or Lollipop yet. Have you tried Widgetsoid? I'm using it on my stock 5.0 Nexus 5 while I wait for my N6 to ship, and it works just fine. [emoji1]
*Or are you talking about the native power control widget? It's native on the Nexus 5 factory image, so I'm not sure why it wouldn't be on the N6. If it's really not there, I can adb pull the apk for you, and post it so you can try to side load it to /system/apps (pretty sure that's where it goes).
Edit: Nope... I can't find it in any of the /system file paths... I guess you could just try to side load and see what happens, but Google may have cooked it into the SystemUI or something.
Yeah I wanted the native power control widget that's been on my phone for as long as I can remember ?

You can if you goto developer options and check force RTL. The only downside is that it flips everything to a RH laylout.

It's a SystemUI mod. From what I've seen, it isn't too difficult. Only required swapping a couple of lines for me. There's a modded stock 5.0.1 apk in this thread.

Many roms customize the system files to provide you with different features. As a result, replacing them with stock files can get those fcs. I may be able to take a look later tonight to get a working version for you.
