[Q] Can I archive or mark read emails throug Gear2? - Samsung Gear 2 Neo

Hi there,
I'm using a pebble now, but I want to buy a Gear 2 Neo. My question is that can I archive or mark read emails in Gear 2 neo smartwatch? I've heared that it has got an update, which disables this function... Is that true?
Can I use any extra apps to archive emails?

Pls give me Full Screen Notifications!!!

Went from pebble to gear now to sony smartwatch 2.
I have simple needs. Why when a email notification comes in, I get a pretty icon, sender, subject and poss 1 line of text and a lot of black space.
I don't want to then go to the notifications, and click on the email to see it. On the sony it uses the full screen to show all of the message, then goes away. If I want to see it again, I can go to the email app....
The gear is so much better, but I get 100's of emails a day and a 2 line notification sucks
Anyone ???
You only get to see whatever notification is available in the notification drop down on the phone
Some firmware and gear manager combinations don't give any email body with Exchange
If that's the case, is there a email client that will show email as they come in???? It's so nice to see the text of a msg while driving without having to fumble around....
I know it may come but k9 and touchdown have a extension for the sony that does it
In galaxy gear app under notifications there is a tick box for preview message, but it still gives you very little
Until Samsung release an sdk, no
You can install custom rom (null_) along with gapps and email client that can access internet via Bluetooth tethering
On the stock e-mail client on my N3 used with Exchange I get 14 lines of text, more when there aren't images in the original e-mail and the stupid "images are not supported" banner takes up the equivalent of two lines of text.

tether your gear with your phone, place a gmail widget on your homescreen. that way you will have instant access to your mails..
Will they release a sdk and more so we can all get alot more?

i don't count for it anymore. maybe when new gear is released..

So you are saying you get 14 lines of text on the Galaxy Gear???
I'm on null 15 (waiting for null 20 before I update) and I don't get much of any email text. I use maildroid and have it set to push notifications from maildroid to my gear, but I don't even get text, just the option to see the email on the watch. The one thing I would love for a developer (or Samsung) figure out is to get email to push via Bluetooth (not internet tether). I don't need to see pics, just the message text. Unless I'm missing something, as of now there is now way to push and pull emails to the gear from the phone. If there is, someone please chime in on how to do this. BTW, I have 5 separate email accounts (personal and 4 business accounts) all through gmail so I get lots of emails. So I would need a way for all my accounts to be pushed. Again, any insight on how to do this please post. Thanks.

If I root and rom, dont I loose the native apps from the gear like the camera etc?
Look under notifications, and long press it. It will bring up a screen of supported apps it will push
No they are all still there.

Doesnt that kill battery life? I barely get a day on the Note 3 and the Gear

I checked out the Smartwatch 2 the other day and thought the Gear was so much better in just about every way - except for the Gmail notifications! Someone else mentioned using the Gmail widget on the Gear, that might work out good...

I have done this already, but some of those apps notifications aren't pushed, for whatever reason. I'm hoping null 20 will include notiwidget and other tweaks that will allow better notification push, especially with email. I get my calls pushed just fine, with tablet talk my texts are completely pushed, it's just emails, and I get no text for those, only the option to "view on phone". Like I said, I'm sure some of this will be addressed in Null 20 and other tweaks for the Gear in the coming months.

Why did you think the Gear was so much better than the SM2? Curious.... I think by the time there is a SDK for the Gear there will be a Gear 2. I think mine is going back

I just felt the overall package and experience was better on Gear vs SM2. Just seems more refined. I like the gestures, finger swipes. You can do more with Gear as well, SM2 seemed to be all about getting notifications and not much else.
Now I have to admit, I got the Gear for around $200 with that T-Mobile promo a few months ago. So in my mind, I'm comparing two $200 devices side by side... and in that case, getting more bang for the buck with the Gear.
However, despite all thid, I agree - don't think there will be an SDK until Gear 2... which is rumored to be coming out this Spring. So I'm also thinking of selling my Gear and getting the Sony instead, lol. I should be able to at least get back what I paid for the Gear. Even though I like Gear better, having a smartwatch work across multiple, non-Samsung devices is more important to me. I don't always want to have to use my Note just so that I can use the Gear.

Reply to email on Galaxy Gear without tethering???

Hi
I'm sure if this has been covered or not but is there a way to view mails and reply to them using a keyboard on your galaxy gear without the use of bluetooth tethering?
I know there is a fantastic app that allows you to respond to sms messages via a client app and a server app installed on your phone but could something like this be incorporated into listening to your email and the ability to respond to them?
My apologies in advance if this has been answered already but this would make my GG complete.

google hangout?

i had gear fit for few months and loved how I get all the notification from "HANGOUT" and all other chat apps (like Skype).
then I was hoping to answer phone call with gear not just denying the phone call with gear fit.
so I upgrade to gear 2 neo.
but this one can't seems to send "ANY" notifications if I use sms with google hangout.
I tried everything but still no go.
when I finally switch back from hangout to original Samsung sms app, then I get all the notifications along with other apps as well
is there any solution for this? I love google hangout app.
model number SM-R381
software version R381XXU0BNE5
is it because of new firmware?
I don't care replying sms through gear neo I just wanna have this pop up notifications.
with hangout enable, I don't even get vibration notice. I simply don't get any notifications.
I have one other question.
if I root this gear neo, can I delete all apps that I don't want to have?
PS:
if my questions are already went over, please direct me to the right direction please.
thank you in advance.
There is an option in the Gear manager app to adjust notifications.
Go to Notifications
Then Manage notifications
then you can either select all or go through and pick which apps. and make sure you select google hangouts.
In the Gear Manager you can edit the apps that will push their notifications to the Gear however only the stock apps really work. Apps such as hangouts or 3rd party sms apps you can only view the notification but not reply.

[Q] Duplicated Notification Gear 2 Neo

Hi,
I've a Gear 2 Neo and Note 3
When i receive notification from Calendar my notification are duplicated.
There is a solution please ?
I have a similar issue with hangouts. I have had sometimes 5+ notifications from a single message.
Sent from my SM-N900A using Tapatalk
I'm having the same issue with Outlook.
The counter says 1 notification, but when I delete one, a duplicate pops up.
Sometimes I even get two chimes for the same e-mail.
I've seen this same problem posted on other boards, but have yet to find an answer.
Anyone here had any luck?

[Q] Is it possible?

Hey!
I'm currently playing around with a couple of apps on my Note 4 & Gear 2 Neo.
The apps in question are.
Fleksy Messenger and Gear2Social (tried to download WhatsGear too, but installation failed)
My question is, would it be possible to combine these apps together? For instance, have the fleksy messenger app, but instead of sending sms, it could post a status on facebook, or reply to facebook messenger?
I have no idea about coding, or would have a go myself lol.
Hopefully this could be achieved, as It would be amazing for the Gear to get some Social Networking apps.
Thanks!
I'm not familiar with either app you are referring to, but from the sounds of it perhaps you can accomplish what you are describing through IFTTT.
