[Q] Will Galaxy Note get an uptade to 4.2.2 ?

I read some news on the internet and saw that our device will get an uptade to 4.2.2... I also saw this news on sammobile. But i couldnt be sure and need to ask somebody knows anything about that.. Btw i am new here..

There are rumors of course, but don't tink we will get more uptades anytime soon. It is a 2011 plone, not that suprising.

May be an update in 2014 after the s3 and note2 gets 4.4! maybe!

I wouldn't expect it from Samsung. They have launched dozens of other phone models since they released Note 1, and from the lack of quality on 4.1 update, even if they release a 4.2 update, it would be better to stick to something else

Thanks a lot for answering guys .. i search it for 2 days and i know that our device will get an uptade in april or may.. it will be 4.3 or 4.2.. i am not sure but the person who is talking about it is very sure hope that it comes true.

Do you have a source that ATT was not "satisfied enough to approve it"? I was under the impression that they were just taking their sweet time with it, not that they were already in the approval/dissaproval stage.

My guess is they also want to patch the stagefright exploit since they need to push a big update anyways what's the point of releasing 5.1.1 then releasing a patch a few days later.

Problem with Samsung pay India

I have a Note 5 920C duos bought in Qatar with UAE version.. i am using this in India ( without root )and recently recieved the Nougat update but i am unable to use samsung pay.. I get an error saying Invalid Sim and that it failed to read phone number from sim card.. any solutions.. can i get an apk or framework specific for that region.. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

found a fix. first register yourself for early access on samsung uae website. once you get a confirmation in your mail download the apk file given in above thread and try to open if it fails then install ust factory reset your phone and then download the apk

I was in the same situation. Think I ended up with a grey import.
I found and then applied using Odin an unlocked Samsung ROM for the UK (Service provider Software now says XEU,XEU/XEU,XSG).
Since applied I've had one OTA update.
So yes, it might be worth looking into this approach for yourself.

I've already downloaded the firmware, but I'm a bit worried about it..
Why did u flash an UK rom?

All I can say is it worked for me.
I was stuck with a security patch from Feb 19, it's now Oct 19 with whatever feature updates Samsung added.

Yeah but, before using Odin, your phone's firmare was for the UK? Or did u decide to install a different region firmware?

The phones origional region code was XSG, It did come to me with XEU,XEU/XEU,XSG as the region code. Provider is SAOMC.
I wonder if my problem was a baseband / firmware mismatch.
But I really don't know.

I understand, so you use your note 9 in the uk, this is why u flashed an UK Rom.

Yes, sorry, I'm in the UK.
If you go to the software information / service provider software version and look at the right most three character code on the third line of information in that section, you should get the origional country code.
But you have a very recent firmware & security patch, unless somethings not working I'd leave it for now.

It's very likely my note was sold and previously used in the UK.

Iis service work? I mean network calls etc? Here if some imei on blacklist,you cant use for calls msg and other services from carrier...
I think if you have now firmware for UK, just download last one with samfirwm and flash with odin.
3-4 months, my sister have problem with j7 pro, it updated to andoird 9, but phone says last version is android 7(not even android 8)...so we just download firmware and flash trough odin...all is fine now

I flash pretty much all software updates now as it's clear Samsung isn't going to update on time. Based on my experience as long as you have an OXM Model and use HOME_CSC it shouldn't matter and your product code won't change.

I have a similar situation with a N960U. Wouldn't get software updates, was originally an AT&T phone. Flashed with a carrier unlocked firmware (TFW, in the states) & now it's a N960U1, & gets all updates.
Also has allowed me to use a CDMA network, because it just gets better service where I live (as opposed to GSM, as it was from purchase date) & effectively debloated it as well. Already enough samsung bloat, the AT&T bloat on top was just too much.

I tried everything already, there is no solution to this. U will have to use it with SK telecom bloatware. Best solution is to hide bloatware apps in app drawer.

Ok. Need one more info.
I bought this used S21 ultra yesterday in afternoon and it's from LG U+ carrier. Last night around 12 it started showing limited service. I tried restarting and all nothing helped finally i did factory reset and sim started working again.
Did you face any such issue or do you know why I am facing this issue. Is it any kind of network lock or something I am really scared.

No such issue in my unit, but i felt while checking 4g speed with jo sim, it gave more ping and lesser speed on multiple occasions than my older Indian mi11x mobile but not a major concern. Main problem is battery drainage, the exynos is not battery friendly.

I had one before and I tried to flash other roms with a patched Odin. It didn't work... There is a custom kernel.that works on the device tho.

Yeah, I also tried to search a lot. Its very unfortunate that in SM-G998U variant this can be done and with korean we can't even flash non branded rom.

I assure you we have checked everything as of now no solution..i can't even change csc.
Only way is to root and then try to change csc.

I have found a way but I guess need to wait for combination firmware.

I have changed the csc from KTC to KOO but still network speed is too low on JIO, no LTE CA and i guess we wont be able to use 5G.
