I read this article http://www.sammobile.com/2014/06/25...egrate-knox-into-androids-next-major-release/ way back and was wondering if Google realy added part of Knox feature in lollipop. I've the Nexus 10 while my wife the nexus 5 both with lollipop but I can't see anything that resembles knox on both.

Could the automatic encryption that it's been doing be a result of this partnership?

Just curious, I saw the knox app om all international and Tmobile versions but I cant find it on my att version. BY Knox I mean the secure profile switcher.
Update 1 :
Koars215 received a correspondence from Samsung:
"after days on days of speaking with att and samsung... corporate finally spilled the beans lol this is coming from samsung mouth the agent told me that att push the device for purchased and did not look over the software in full before putting it on the shelf. They said the reason we can see the knox app in the installation manager is because by default it should be. Also its something that cant be found on its samsung app market place.
END RESULT: Samsung said within the next 1-2 weeks it will push a software update for At&t and t-mobile(i had no clue t-mobile was having the same issue)"
Update 2:
Get the knoxstub.apk from note 3 international and placed it in system after being rooted and now knox is working perfect. Tnx to cburnett
Update 3:
Knoxstub is attached. Tested and it works :good: Tnx to cburnett for the file.
Just open the apk and install normally and let it do its thing.
Exactly I can't find it either.

You would think it should be installed with an icon on the first page also!! considering how much Samsung is proud of it

I've searched high and low but can not figure out how to access/install/enable knox. I also see it running in application manager.

Me neither. It's strange
To activate it go to Security>Device Administrators.
Word to the wise, if you care about Root or Bootloader Unlock; becareful. No one really knows what Knox changes hardware wise, IF it even changes anything hardware wise and software wise.
Unfortunately there's no way for us on AT&T N3 to disable it completely. But so far, it's not running on mine.
How do you use Knox on the att version? How do I get credentials for it

Still it doesn't show up after I activate it.
Same here checking knox in administrators does nothing. Could it be that I'm using the sim from my note 2 and not the one that was in the box?

I'm using the SIM from my S4 and can't do anything with it either

Guys Knox is not an app. It's a security protocol that keeps your information private and also your activity. Anything done in Knox, stays in Knox. Once it's activated it's on and monitors your security.
Here's some more information on how it works.... http://www.samsung.com/global/business/mobile/solution/security/samsung-knox
At&t Note III...& At&t G Pro
mine don't work either
@Jammol your wrong on the the other company's such as sprint there is an/a app on the home screen that allows you to place things inside the container and also Knox have its own store with supported apps. I was on the phone with Samsung advanced tech support and they were scratching their head on why it isn't installed on the device but it is found in the installation manager
I said its not an app because I don't classify it as one. Yes its a container, an environment, an app.
At&t Note III...& At&t G Pro

All variants have this Knox app that switches environments, but not at&t and thats what we are asking: Where is it?

I will keep you guys updated this will be round 2 with advance tech support (samsung+att)... My guess is if others are having this problem that they will end up pushing a update that fixes this problem. My buddy got the Note 3 for sprint and i saw that its visible from the home screen and had to download the knox store onto the note 3. When i later got my note 3 from att that was the first app i looked for and i wasn't available.

I can't totally agree with that. Simply activating it as an administrator does nothing.

SO, j ust got the kit kat update. The new dialer, however, only searches for contacts I already have and does not bring up any local places/businesses search results. Anyone else having this issue?? Location is most certainly on!
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
Some people are saying that the bringing up places and businesses may be a Nexus 5 exclusive for now, just like we didn't get the GEL either. I'm not 100% sure myself

What is the closest ROM I can get to stock Android on my Note 3 SM-N900A. Not 9005 or any other variant of the Note 3. I mean specifically the N900A. I really am thinking about selling this phone to get an LG G2 or Nexus 5 because I cannot stand touchwiz at all

The Nexus line has no SD card slot and the G2 is laggy and slow compared to this phone and there is the GPS battery drain issue on the G2 as well. You are better off with the N3 than a G2. There is another thread here about that and most confirm what i just said.
If you don't like TW, then you have no need for this phone. The new features on this device is heavily reliant on TW. You may be happier with an G2 or N5.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I know the features are dependent on TW but I like having 90GB of storage and a 10,000mAh battery. I don't care if I void the warrenty. I just want stock Android on this phone

You might be better off trying to get something like an unlocked tmo N3. That way your accessories don't go to waste.

So there's a method of rooting the stock Note 3 without tripping Knox => http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...-to-root-nf4-knox-0x0-effortless-nf4-t2846142
Wondering if there's been a way yet for the Note 4 for this to happen?
Thanks.

That thread has been around since August. I would venture to say if there was a way, we would have it here. It's unfortunate, but it really doesn't cause nearly as many issues as people think it would. There have been plenty of members to make warranty claims and return their devices to T-Mobile and a word hasn't been said. Most workers at T-Mobile probably don't even know to look for it; they have so many phones they deal with on a daily basis that checking for knox being tripped isn't on their priority list.
I'm using it on ATT though and bought off contract.

I can't speak for the AT&T version, however I don't believe anyone has found a way to root without tripping knox. It kind of became accepted that to root you'll trip it.
Cool. I did that on my old Note e

I have read that there are Tmobile Note 4 with Rent A Center firmware installed and people are able to install "normal " Tmobile firmware without tripping Knox. That would mean that there is a way to keep Knox at 0 and install modified firmware. I just wonder if that requires special equipment to flash those phones to RAC modification or simply people didn't discover "trick" yet?

I've been waiting for this too but looks like no one is working on it
And it seems like after rooting, we must flash a custom rom or else some of the features will not work.
I hope to be getting a job in a couple of months, and would love to use my note 4 there. But not sure if they will let me use a phone with Knox tripped.
Rent a center is considered as... Sort of a provider. They have an agreement with Samsung which enables them to install custom firmware, which if it is similar to their laptops, allows them to "lock" the device if their RIDICULOUSLY expensive payments are not made. Its fraud insurance in a way.
I am not sure how you would go about getting around knox. But I wouldn't hold my breath. Its looking like it might be a little while...
Sent from my SM-N910W8 using Tapatalk 4
My friend bought his note 4 with rent a center it does have a firmware different than tmobile, my friend updated using kies and it installed all of the tmobile bloat and basically the stock rom, with knox already Tripp when he bought it
Curious to hear peoples thoughts that have rooted their devices, but lost the Samsung Pay feature.
does not matter to me,
