If it's Droid then it's for CDMA. I don't think it's a good idea to try it on Milestone.
This has been repackaged as a ROM. It will not work on the milestone, under any circumstances.
Could a moderator or the OP perhaps re-title this thread in light of the fact that the update in question will not work on a Milestone?

Question is pertaining specifically with the title. It specifically states "DROID" and the question addresses if this will somehow work due to it being signed by motorola.
Perhaps, it will be helpful if there is a developer who can torn the package not to include the radio which is the only difference of milestone to a droid.

The title of this post seems to suggest that we, the Milestone owners, can accomplish this installation and it would somehow invite us to do so.
Motorola signed the Droid firmware to run on a Droid, not a Milestone. There are additional internal hardware differences beyond the radio, and there are software differences that permeate several components of the OS.

If it were so cut and dried, we'd have custom roms by the butt load.
It isn't
I really wish people would stop assuming that life is simple because almost every other android device has custom roms...
The milestone could have custom roms right now and it wouldn't make a difference, because we couldn't load them.
Here is how to update your motorola droid to android 2.2 froyo FRF84B.

Per your request, title has now been changed.
Moved to general since it isn't related to development.
This will not work on Milestone, it is built for Droid which is CDMA. Droid and Milestone are two different devices, they require completely different ROMs. There is no Froyo ROM for Milestone out there yet, neither official nor leaked.
Please be patient.
Thanks
Does anyone know of a working cyanogenmod ROM for the vivid? On there site its not on the device list yet
Also on a side note, I have unlocked the bootloader and have perm root. Do I need S-off and if so how do I do it?
Be patient. It was just unlocked and developers are getting to work.
Soon there will be awesomeness coming to the development forum.

seriously? it got unlocked yesterday and you think there would already be a CM build?
the only way to get a working Cyanogenmod right now would be for you to build it, because it doesnt exist.
right now there is no S-Off yet
**EDIT**
dont mean to come off like a **** with this post, but a Cyanogenmod release literally doesnt happen overnight....and they wont support it until someone does the work of getting it built and working on the device.
Well since other carriers were unlocked before yesterday I didn't know if someone had already been working on it...
Also this is my first android so just a heads up for any other newbies when I used the HTC dev site to unlock the phone it resets the phone wiping your data

I chatted w/attn1 yesterday and he said if we'd get him a Vivid, he'd build CM7 for it.
Saw a page calling themselves htcvividforum.com that said they could put the inspire cm7 on the vivid, and pointed to this XDA thread for the Inspire 4G: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1226584. I was wondering if anybody had tried that? I have my doubts, being it's a different phone and all.... maybe I am cross eyed and can't read.
The link to the page that claimed this:
www.htcvividforum.com/custom-roms/bbmod-rom-beta-v1-3-3-cm7-nightly-w-treats/msg71185/?
That site is pretty bogus. It's a clone of http://www.htcinspireforum.com, which, if you go to it, shows identical posts with "vivid" swapped for "inspire". I wouldn't try flashing an ace build to your Vivid.
the ACE and the HOLIDAY are not even close to having the same hardware.....i agree with kxhawkins, the site is bull****
the first clue to the exact link that you posted:

Wow, fast replies, thanks. I wasn't brave enough. I've read your warnings, etc, so I knew something was up!
Well, back to waiting patiently for cm9. "C'mon ice ceeam!!!"

I didn't even think to check the date on that other site. Good to know for future endeavors.

Did anyone tried this?
Actually here is the hope:
When my JB on XT925 something went wrong, I was able to go back to ICS 4.0.4 with the utility 1.10.
However, it will install the Verizon version of 4.0.4 on your phone, so if you are with another provider, it will say that your SIM card does not mach the current network (Verizon).
But, it will let you update to JB of your choice & install the CWM-SuperSU-v0.99 (for root) on your XT925 .
So, as a the last resort reason, you can use it on XT925.

I would try the to delete getvar from the Atrix HD ICS sdf but I'm saving up for another Honda Accord.... Being unable to root makes this phone useless but I'm not ready to give up on it just yet. I might say fu ck it and try after my daughter goes to sleep tonight.
I bricked my phone :highfive: but only after I tried to flash the Verizon Motorola Droid RAZR HD VZW_XT926_4.0.4-7.7.1Q-144_VQW_S3-34-25_CFC files. I knew what was gonna happen. I was hoping for a miracle.
RSD LITE only says "Dqhsusb_dload"
I think I'm gonna get a Galaxy S3 now.

Not a bad choice.
Lots of development going on for the S3 no matter which carrier you're on.
My S3 is great, but my note 2 just blows everything else right out of the water (if you can handle a 5.5" screen).

Why is that, I asked the RAZR HD guys and they said they can go back to ICS just fine from JB and we cant? Maybe we can find the difference in the FXZ and edit it ?

As i write here i am working on it, i am taking a look at the XML file and i am requesting external help to see if we can get it to work, so we can finally have a way to get root access for the people on JB, ill post later any update on the matter.
when I have time and solve my "storage problem" maybe I post a guide how I re obtain root on JB...
still I dont feel very confortable with this phone, just 3 custom ROMs, and the forums are very quiet just asking the same question
I think I'm gonna buy an HTC One X or S3 mini

I await your results eagerly Sir. Becoming unrooted due to my own error was painful. I'm dying to regain root. And if I can't root I at least want the ap fastboot screen to stop appearing each reset. What exactly is different from you're new method and the old rsd methods that have you remove getvar?

well, if you use it as a phone to make actual real voice calls, Motorola is just better than the others.
Some people are ok with the JB update but for myself with a lapdock, ICS was more suited for my needs; I would go back to ICS in a heartbeat.
(I'm even close to sell the Atrix HD and get a new one, just not to update it to JB.)

Trilogger, no luck?
I need the JB OTA AT&T Zip file from someone who is rooted and is in ICS and hasnt updated, ASAP, awaiting reply, i am trying to make a script to go back TO ICS from JB and i need a couple of files from the OTA zip.
The DROID RAZR HD XT926 CAN go back to ICS as the secure version did NOT increase in the Jellybean update.
On the Atrix HD, it has increased for the official Jellybean.

Xt926 is a dev version.. But the second post shows a guy who reverted jb to ics with a xt925!
I finally got my AHD rooted and unlocked, and I've seen people mention a thread about installing CWM manually and another for enabling LTE on various ROMs, but I can't, for the life of me, find those threads. Could someone point me in the right direction?
Also, I've already tried Batakang (not Rises) and Joker and neither found any signal on AT&T.
I see the AOSPizza and Batakang Rises (should) get signal on AT&T but I'm not sure.
Thanks, in advance, for the help!
They both should get signal problem. The thread for the razr to Atrix fix is.

When you say unlocked, do you mean SIM unlocked? If so, how did you go about doing that?
Thanks!
I'm sure he meant bootloader unlocked. There's no method we know of other then asking third party sites.

Yes, I meant Bootloader unlocked.
I looked in the thread you linked above and it doesn't have anything relevant to me. I don't (think) I have a problem getting LTE or wifi, just connecting to AT&T. I looked under Settings-More...-Mobile Networks, and the APN section is greyed out so I can't add AT&T info. Currently using AOSPizza, hoping to use it as a daily driver.
I searched for the answer, and I found a few threads where people were working on it, but I never found anything definitive.
So does anyone know how to run Paranoid Android on this phone?
People are still working on porting it but one of the closest things you can get is probably the PAC man rom if I am not mistaken.
