Weird dial tone noise when talking on phone problem - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

For the past couple months I have been experiencing a weird issue when using my note 4. When I'm talking on phone it sounds like someone is pushing a number to dial. But the person I'm talking to can't hear the button being push.

You probably have minute reminder on. Go to settings>applications>call>call alerts>uncheck minute reminder

Finally someone else who has experienced this issue!
I always blamed my mother when she called me from the UK or if I called her. I thought perhaps she pushed a key on her phone by accident, but the occurance is often. Now it could be her, I dont know but since you bring it up..
Either way, it also occured on my previous phone the Note 3.

After Hang Up Twang

I've been meaning to ask this for months, but I keep forgetting. Today I scoured the site, but can't find anyone with the same problem. Either I'm going crazy or I hear a frequency that nobody else can (lol - "Unbreakable").
Basically, right after I hang up a call, my phone lets out a few audible "twangs." That's the only way I can describe it. WHAT IS IT? Some bizarre audio phenomenon like when cell phones get too close to computer speakers?
I know it's not just my phone - I went through 4 RMA Tilts thanks to RLoD issues, and they've all done it.
Either I'm going crazy (or becoming a superhero) or I'm an idiot and this is by design and I'm missing something obvious.
It just means the call was disconnected. It's useful if your call gets dropped, so you don't keep saying "Hello? Hello?" The phone will twang so you know the other person has hung up or otherwise got disconnected.
Yep I find it annoying too. One beep to let me know I've hung up the phone is fine, but the ding ding ding thing is annoying. Sounds like my phone is going to explode.

Thank you. So it turns out:
1) I'm a first-class goob.
2) It still annoys me.
3) It must not work all the time, because when I have calls dropped, sometimes I do find myself saying "hello" for a time. (Or maybe I've just blocked the sound out entirely.)
4) Now that you mention it, sometimes I DO appreciate it that it lets me know I've been disconnected, sometimes. But why does it do it when I just manually hang up? I certainly don't need to know the call's been dropped THEN.
5) MY BOTTOM LINE (eg - my excuse for being a goob): The sound doesn't sound like an on-purpose thing. It sounds random, like a mistake or a glitch. Hence my confusion.

Thank you for justifying my #5, and thank you for trying to make me feel better about being a goob.
Now let's just let this thread fade into the nether-regions of the forum...

[Q] Call problem

Well, sometimes when somebody calls me or I call them I can't hear anything and they can't hear me, so need to reboot, after that all is well for some time...
Anyone has a fix for that, or know how do repair it without reboot??
Thanks
maybe a software is the cause? I remember when I was on HTC, there were times this happen to me - a hard reset solve the problem for me though.
Thanks, I'll try that... Since you are the only one that replied

thanks let me know if you found out something!
some people have reported problems with the noise cancellation. try turning that off.i think the option is available once the call is started. if so, you could try covering the top microphone hole.
I have this issue also. For me I most notice it when I am calling someone over bluetooth. All of the sudden it will just become silent. I hang up and call back with bluetooth turned off and everything is silent. I can tell that the other person answers the phone because of the screen but it's silent and they can't hear me. The only thing that will get my phone working again is a reboot.
I'm on rocketrom v20 btw.

Help!

Right this week something strange has started happening to my phone, I've had it for nearly 3 weeks and I love it!
So I'm on a call to someone and then suddenly I hear a beep and the call has ended, I take my phone away from my ear to see I'm in the settings menu and airplane mode has been enabled! The first time it happened I was like, strange, then the 2nd time I was like weird and now after the fifth/sixth time I'm like WTF is going on!!
Today is happened 3 times in half hour with same person, it's freaking me out!
As I'm a pretty logical thinking person I've come up with three different theories as to why it's happening...
1. Phone has developed a fault, either with sensor or software wise. (possible)
2. There is a shortcut whilst in a call to go to settings, that I didn't know about. (possible)
3. When I'm in a call, somehow and I say again somehow my ear slides the notification bar down, then presses the settings button in top right and then turns phone into airplane mode. Now the last two presses is possible, but the first one really?!? (Not possible)
So as I am in my 28 days exchange period I want to see if theory 2 is possible before I go back to my store and get it exchanged on the basis of theory 1.
Any advice is welcome!

So there isn't a shortcut to settings whilst in call then I assume as no one has commented, will get it exchanged this week then as that can only be the reason.

Phone texting someone other than the person it was supposed to be.

First off I am on AT&T with an AT&T Nexus 6. Second I have encountered a new issue with this phone. I searched and found nothing like it.
Here's what my phone is doing. I received a text from a friend a few days ago. But only the message came in under a different friends name. Example, a one friend "John" said hey man did you see my new truck? I replied yeah it looks pretty nice. I then back arrow out of my stock messenger app and when I do "Johns" name changes to "Todd". Then " Todd sends me back huh?
Same thing when I send a message. I will send it to one person and my phone will change it to another persons name.
I have had this problem stock and on custom roms.
Is anyone else experiencing this sort of issue?
@konaman,
This probably won't help you, but I'm on AT&T with branded N6 and I've never had nor heard of a problem like yours. Not sure what to tell you....
Yeah I haven't either but this is a really big deal, privacy wise. I'm going to sit down tonight and record myself texting until I can get this to happen again. I got a text from a friend named Mike once and we replied to each other several times and the message went to another person at the same time. It is very weird and annoying.
Another annoying problem I have is my phone will hang up on people when I either answer a call or call someone. As soon as I or they begin to speak, click. It hangs right up.
I have never had so many problems as I have had with this phone. I'm about to give up on it.

Verizon Nexus 6 call issue

I have had my nexus for a few months now. I have had this problem over 4 replacement phones and 2 different sim cards. I cant find anything anywere so i figured i would ask the pros. Here goes.
When in a call the person i am talking to will hear a bang or gunshot like sound, then i will be silent for 10-15 seconds. I can hear them talking after this, but they cannot hear me. It is kind of like i am on mute. After those 15 seconds I am able to talk to them again.
I have talked to verizon about this and they put in 2 network tickets and both are resolved with no luck for me. My wife has the same phone and does not have this problem. I have not rooted or played with anything. I did factory reset it without pulling my apps back in and it still did it. I thought maybe an app was trying to hijack the radio.
has anyone heard of this or experienced it before? Motorola just wants to replace the phone again and again. I am at a loss here.
