phone lost IMEI number !

dear all
i have tried everything and i think i bricked my phone.
my phone have no iemi number and the firmware info are :
PDA : I9000JPJPG
Phone : Unknown
CSC : I9000OJPJPF
Odin wont recognize the download mode so i cant flash stock rom
the problem is the phone wont recognize the simcard , everything else is normal.
i have clockworkmod recovery, tried flashing different roms and radios still nothing. it also gives me baseband unkown. what should i do???
the problem is the phone wont recognize the simcard , everything else is normal.
Is that due to you installing a rom that does not have your network
in which case in the settings manually add your Networks details apn etc .
jje
Try see if your clockwordmod has any backups? Usually when doing changes it does make a full system backup..
If so, try restore from there, it should also restore imei
Not forgetting your backed up efs folder can be replaced if you did back it up most ignore that faq .
Mine came back with install of a new rom .

I had the same thing, I had to use the 3 button method and used Odin but remember that you have to have Odin running before you connect your phone to your USB connection and you should also have your phone in Download mode using the 3 button method before connecting it to your USB connection. Otherwise Odin won't recognise it, Also you need to make sure you have the phone drivers on you PC.
I just downloaded a stock firmware from samfirmware.com and that installed brought it back to how it was when I bought it. (Fully functional) and then I tried again with rooting it and lagfixing it. works fine.
The reason why mine died in the first place was because I didn't wait long enough on the first boot after the flash and I had thought it had frozen when it was really still just writing new information to the hardware so remember to be patient on the first boot after the flash.
It seems your phone Modem part is not flashed properly thus you could not retreive the IMEI from this part.
Suggestion:
Try to locate the original ROM which comes with this phone and flash it again and check if this works. From this start from zero
Couldn't you flash the modem via clockworktecovery if odin doesn't work? Much more simple if the missing modem is the problem. Modems can be found via docs thread.

If you are not even getting Odin to connect to your phone, your bootloader must be corrupted. If the phone can get into APX mode, you can flash new bootloader and start off from there.
Connect device to Windows PC and see if Windows would detect the device to start with

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S stuck on boot screen

Hi, i'm noob in Galaxy Flashing so this is my problem:
I have a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 blocked from italian carrier.
Few times ago i tried to enable 3-buttons download/recovery mode installing Aries_P-SBL.tar.md5 with Odin. The installation finished successfully but the download/recovery mode still didn't work.
After some reboots (where the phone worked right), now the phone stucks in the boot screen (the one with Galaxy S GT-I9000 SAMSUNG).
With the JIG i can enter download mode but my computer can't detect the phone (Windows feels my USB connection but Odin does not detect it).
If i connect the phone to the computer in normal mode (not in download mode, so with stuck screen), Kies can detect the phone but says that it can't talk with phone in this way(like if it was in USB Debug mode).
I Hope someone can help me
Restart your computer>>>Go to task manager and close all Kies applications (I usually have 2 Kies running from startup)>>>Start Odin and select all the files>>>Put your phone into download mode and connect>>>It should be detected now.
If it is still not detected, close odin, disconnect phone. Start Kies go to tools and install drivers. Once this is complete. Close Kies and start from the top of this post...restart...
Solution Is HEIMDALL.....
Here Comes your solution:
You can easily back your phone with Heimdall.
It's a flashtool which is more complicated than ODIN.
If interesting, simply PM me and we will do it.
I'm Here...
Well,first go to here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=755265
Second: Download 7-zip PC software & extract your official md5 firmware to obtain several other files.
Third:Search the web for a Heimdall How-To(if you didn't find,I'll provide You links)
Last:You'll flash the firmware via Heimdall & again your peace of mind will be back.
Try to reflash your phone normaly with another Rom, it should work

I don't understand, your download mode works?
Sent from my Galaxy S with ICS 4.0.4 (Italy)
he said download mode works but odin cant detect the phone .
Try reinstalling the samsung usb drivers and/or try from another pc and see if it shows the same thing (meaning nothing) .
Hi,
sorry but i tried all the ways, Odin and Heimdall.
I tried Odin on Windows and Heimdall on MacOSX but always they say
"Failed to detect compatible download-mode device."
I'm sure that phone is in download mode
May i install drivers on OSX with Heimdall?
I have not original samsung USB cable, but i think this is not a problem
Rooted my GT-I9000, and now it has crashed!
First off all my Galaxy I9000 was trying to software update via Kies, and it failed. The it would not start, but i managde to root it with a stock "VOD" rom.. But after a while i wantet to root it back to "Nordic Version"... But i could not do this, because the 3 button combo dont work on my Galaxy I9000 anymore.. :/ So there for i baought a USB JTAG, that puts it into download mode. So far, So good But when it is finished rooting, it fails to mount/unmount a bunch of stuff.. I have a picture of the screen, so that you guys can se what the problem is. I have tryed to root it with the same version that worked before, but it dont work. I have also tryed with som pit files, and so on... I give up, i need help with my Samsung Galaxy S - GT-i9000. Please help me out with this..
Getting Hopeless...?
1)For you to become sure,my Galaxy S Aka I9000 was exactly the same as yours and right now there is nothing wrong with that of course after flashing by HEIMDALL.
2)Remember,if your are going to do anything,Your first and your last key,is your HOPE so be so hopeful and let's start to get over this.
3)Download I9000 USB driver from here and simply install it on WINDOWS OS.
http://hotfile.com/dl/48893334/93383a1/I9000_USB_driver.rar.html
4)Before Using Heimdall, Enter it's folder and you'll see another sub folder called driver and you'll see just ONE executable program, run it and follow these instructions:
(I'll Shortly Provide You A How-to)
5)Enter Heimdall and follow these instructions:

6)Flash firmware
7)Enjoy
8)Press my THX Button.

No one of these method does work for me,
any suggest?? my main problem is that the pc does not detect the phone when it's in download-mode. I know how to flash it, but there is not a program that can talk with it!

Hi, changing computer worked. I tried on OSX and didn't work, on Windows 7 on VMware Fusion and didn't work. After all, i tried on a laptop with Windows XP and it solved my problem. Now i get a mobile network error, with one carrier it works and with another it does not. The mobile network detected is always really low.

[Q] unable to root i9000

Hi...
I'm trying to root my i9000 2.3.6 xxjvu...
I'm using odin and i follow the [HOWTO] but odin stuck on setup connection, for hours...
Is somebody able to help me?
Thank you
which version of Odin are you using? maybe try a different version from the one you are using.
Also make sure KIES is not running & kill any KIES processes.
The 1.85 and the 1.82, i also tried on 1.30, and there is no Kies processus running...
what are you trying to flash?
are you flashing the correct file?
try downloading the file again.
try disabling any antivirus/firewalls
are correct drivers installed?
possibly try a different usb port & usb cable?
I'm trying to root it, with CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVU_2.3.6-v4.3-CWM3RFS
I'll try with another usb cable and port...
Another cable and port don't fix it...
Not sure then.
Usual issues are drivers, usb cable, usb port, kies processes running in background, version of odin.
Have you downloaded cf-root again?
If you can try another pc. If that doesn't work then i'm not sure maybe someone else can help.

Well rooting flashing phone is pretty easy and its easy to find out whats the problem.
Ok when you put in the phone with usb cable and start odin you should see the odin to find your phone.. if it does not its usb driver problem.. I tried to get it working on windows xp and damn its almost impossible to get it working with odin. Using windows 7 it works quite easily. Only once i had to do some driver fighting before odin found my phone..
Just start there and if odin finds your phone it should really work.. You can pm me if I've forgotten this thread and not answering in a day or so. Just tell me whats the problem exacly and what os you are using.
OH AND... if you got a older phone that has not been updated with kies the download mode does not work without the kies update.

Odin stuck on setup connection

Hello, I red a lot of posts about odin stuck in setup connection, But I can't resolve it.
I changed USB port, I run odin ad administrator, I restart PC, I tried it on 2 different pcs and always it is stuck on it...
Also kies doesn't recognize my galaxy ace. The ace is modded with a custom rom and I would like to put the original one but odin doesn't work.
Let me know
Thanks
Which version of ODIN are you using ?
Use v4.38
and are you sure about the procedure of installing stock firmware through ODIN ? BE sure of it with all the cooper file n all.
and Kies won't detect cause your device is rooted.

Can you enter the Download Mode? If yes, then you can solve this by flashing stock rom back using odin. If no, then its hard-bricked and you can consult a Service Center as the last resort. Do post the result. Hope I Helped
No download mode.
Samsung authorized service couldn t do anything.
Is there a way to unbrick it with debrick image or jtag or jig?...
Yes! Go for JTAG(seems complicated but it can help u out).
Btw Samsung care can fix ur phone even if it's out of warranty.
