later she kept charging it but nothing happed for 3 hours the screen says it is downloading, pleasehelp
Could you add a screen capture pc? Since the problem may be that error on the PC, in that case could be due to use USB cable, or pc USB port. Meyor problem seems not.
I suffered that mistake for months, and was one fault of the USB cable, giving minimal disconnections that cut the same facility, although the mobile waits, never end for that reason, because you need the complete installation from the pc, then when you restart the phone and the pc would not problems.

Help! My tilt freezes up suddenly and then reacts extremely slow to any inputs. I will push a button on the touch screen and it takes the phone about 3-4 seconds to react to the input. Any ideas on what may be wrong and how to go about fixing them? Also, the phone has problems every month or so about going into the 4 color screen when booting up and not starting properly (not sure if this has anything to do with it...very annoying!!). Usually happens though when the battery is drained. Any help would be excellent!
if by USB you mean the computer's USB port, is ActiveSync syncing when the tilt slows down? because I believe that's normal when ActiveSync is actively working in the background...
USB meaning plugged into my laptop...
...and active sync is not even recognizing my device. Everything i do on my phone is delayed a couple of seconds. When i unplug it from the computer through the USB cable everything runs at normal speed.
Another Problem
I tried a hard reset through clear storage (copied all of my contacts to the sim card since my phone was not syncing) and when the phone booted back up it started in the infamous 4 color screen (anyone know what the actual name for this screen is?) and won't turn back on properly!

I got a similar issue with my Kaiser. Pluged it via sync cable to my laptop/PC, and it would freeze both sides (PC and Kaiser). It is definitely a mini-usb issue, a pin is bend, creating a bad contact. If I slightly move the plug in the mini usb, it will eventually come to life. If the cable moves to the right again, it will freeze again. This isn't happening with a wall/car charger however.
Could be you're facing the same problem. Did you recently damage the mini-usb (by inserting the stylus inside instatd of the soft-reset button, like most of the people lol).
Thanx!
Now that i examine it, the USB is slightly damaged on the inside..will try a different one...
Will try when phone actually boots up properly.....
Still Freezing
Got my phone to finally boot up (after numerous attempts) and I used a brand new USB cable and it still is going reaalllllllyyy sloooooooowwww. It also won't sink with my computer. Anyone, please HELP!

Actually, I didn't mean that the cable was damaged, but the mini-usb plug from the Tilt itself. Have you tried holding the cable while pluged right or left and see if tht Tilt reacts normally ?
That didn't seem to make any difference either. When I plug it into a regular charger it works normally.
New Discovery!
My headphones now do not work either. To recap, connect phone through USB to my computer, the phone moves as fast as my grandmother but though it still charges the battery. My regular phone charger works fine and the phone moves as fast as Micheal Phelps. Though my head phones perform sexually like my grandfather, they don't work at all.
I don't get it!
This may be the most unreliable phone I have ever experienced in my entire life. Now the head phones work after I put them in very slowly but when I take them back out of the mini USB port the regular speakers do not play and sound. When I plug the head phones back in I hear the sound through the ear buds. On a more disturbing note, I guess my grandfather is taking cialis. My mini USB port is just messed up!
Hi all,
I had posted this in the noob section first but got no response
To clear things up, I HAVE searched the forums for this issue & i did find the Topics However it seems whichever solution i try doesn't work.
The Problem: My Sex1i always loads the tricolor screen where it says no image file found.
The only way i get it to load the Win OS is if i either plug in the usb cable or any electric charger cable be it my car charger or wall socket.
Here's what i have tried to resolve it.
1. I have performed a hardSPL following the instructions on this forum.
2. I then update my ROM to the [100% CLEAN WM6.5][2010-01-12] Xperia UnOff Series - Infinite & Xperia X1.5 found on this forum too
3. I have also update my Radio & my camera to the latest roms found on this forum too (Not that they related to the problem anyway)
4. I have tried turning off Active & connecting to MTTY.exe everthing goes as instructed BUT when i connect to MTTY.exe i get a command prompt-like Named [CLIENT] & no matter what i type it just keeps repeating [CLIENT].
So i honestly need assistance with the MTTY.exe program cuz i cant proceed from there.
5. I have tried Soft & Hard Resetting My SeX1i but no joy
My Tricolor screen reads:
KOVS110
SPL-0.72.0LiNex
MicroP1-787
MicroP2-707
Please assist me in case i have missed out on anything.
Thanks in Advance

I just tried that out, No Joy
Mine also switches on as long as its plugged in to a PC or into the charger, However if i switch my SeX1 on without the cable I still get the tri-color screen
On thing to note though is whenever i plug my phone into a PC, I get the "USB Not Recognized" Balloon first but the storage card device does show up in My Computer

I have an idea, hard reset it while plugging the cable, it will solve the boot up problem
but.. now i can't charge the phone while phone on... i need to switch off the phone before charging...
This looks like same problem I have.
I was recharging my phone as normally, but as I was taking it off the charger after I thought it would be fully recharged, I noticed it hadn't loaded a bit.
I did soft-reset as I thought it would be WinMo glitch and after that it loaded only tri-colour screen. I resetted the phone about 10 times and removed battery and kept resetting. No help.
I had battery out for about 2-3 hours and after that it started normally, but now I had serious problem, it wouldn't recharge battery. I turned off phone and plugged it to charger, I saw that lights started to blink at side and saw that it would recharge normally, and left it for the night.
Morning it had fully recharged. I thought it would be ok at that moment..
Next day I plugged phone to charger again and it did not recharge again.
I started to test chargers for faulty. It wouldn't load from any of my chargers, tested from my computer that was off at time. Tested every USB plug that i could find. Nothing.
My MP3 player charged from every plug and charger, but phone did nothing. I turned on my computer, as Vista was started, I plugged phone and it started to charge! I unplugged it, plugged back, it still loaded.
But now ActiveSync started to bring up errors, saying it could not sync phone and it had problems at desktop(?). Changed phone from ActiveSync to Memorycard, it was acting normally and charging. I thought it was ActiveSync now that was glitching. Never changed it back and got that out of my mind, since I don't sync my phone with my Outlook or vice versa.
I went for a week or two charging my battery from my computer. Testing every once and while from charger, and only noticing it would not charge.
About 2 weeks ago I tested some custom roms from here, as I thought it would help my charging problem. Flashed new WM6.5 custom rom to it, did hard reset. But still it would not charge from charger, only computer.
Flashed back to stock. Next morning I took the phone to shop, where I bought it, for warranty repair, since I have had phone for only for 6 months.
They said it would take 1-3 weeks for repairs and gave me web-tracking code for it. I observed it daily.
Last week I noticed there: "Service delaying, sent for factoryrepair."
I think my phone has fried some chip.
Since then nothing has heard from there, still waiting. Hope they get it fixed fast, since I'm in trouble without my calender!
I wanted to share this all with you because I courage everybody having this problem to take it for repairs. I wouldn't believe they would send it to factoryrepair for having a minor problem.
P.S. sorry about so long text and for any misspelling, english is not my native language.
SE wants us change new phone :S mine is W37 from factory, just 1 year..
did someone solved this problem my sex1 also got this problem..i brought it to cell shop but they just took the usb port from the board itself and now i dont know what to do..the part is still not available..does anyone know the temporary solution i just want to use my phone till the parts arrive..thanks
Hallo,
I have Oct/2010 Galaxy S bought from Germany. I have the 3 button recovery mode enable model. So following are the problems I am facing simultaneously...but first the story how it begins...
The day it started
I was making a video of my girl when she was taking a shower..lol..she caught the phone and tried to snatched it...and in this bloody joke act, the phone fell off in the sink about 1-1.5 feet below. I immediately took it and checked if everything was ok. I found that the home screen was fixed to horizontal display, and wouldn't change even after numerous re-starts or rese/selecting the automatic rotation option.
Problems
1. Stuck Horizontal Display
The phone is 99% time stuck to horizontal display with exception of the call log or dialer option or games which run only in portrait mode. Auto-rotation selection-deselection and horizontal calibration doesn't help at all. *Till 2-3 days back, if the phones battery is exhausted and switches off automatically, and then if the charging USB cable is connected, the phone restarts and turns normal to the normal portrait mode*. And stays like this till the next manual restart. Now, this is also not working anymore. I can play the accelerometer games perfectly, those also which run in portrait mode only. Also, the phone never charges if it is switched off..I mean if you connect charger USB cable/power cable when the phone is switched off...the phone turns on and then start to charge. Before(when all was ok), I had this big battery indicator on screen while at the time of switched-off charging. Also, if a power cable charging method is used...the touch screen behaves like crazy and you cant use it at all. You can't even slide to unlock the screen but all the buttons work completely fine. In case of USB cable charging...everything goes normal and I can use the touch screen and buttons like normal.
2. USB Mode
So the USB cable is charging the cellphone whenever connected to any USB port. When connected to a computer, its the wish of the cellphone if its wants to connect or not. The USB mode is detected by a computer/laptop only when the phone is turned on after a complete battery discharge in a normal portrait mode (read the lines above marked with *). That too I have to reinstall the drivers of the phone on the laptop/pc again. All the other times when phone is only have horizontal display, USB mode of any type...mass storage, kies, music player is not detected.
Some how i have upgraded to recently released 2.3.4 XXJVR from my previous 2.3.3 XXJVK but the problem has not gone. It started while using XXJVK only. I have reset everything...erased the phone/sd card memory but nothing happened and also restoring to the factory reset option.
Anyone who can help!!
Try flashing a FULL rom with 3 files and .pit again
Hope it helps
So two key events happened with my phone - the replacement battery I ordered finally arrived, and I also crawled out from under a rock and flashed the ICS partition and pengus77's CM10.
I was advised to calibrate the replacement battery by charging it from 0 to 100 with the phone powered off. So I streamed a random high res youtube video to drain the battery as fast as possible, then powered off the phone and plugged it into a USB port on my work laptop (a HP Elitebook running Windows 7 Enterprise x64).
The phone started charging (battery animation screen appeared) - and then my laptop started to install drivers. A few minutes later, I got a windows BSOD - yes the blue screen of death, not the black screen on android.
I initially thought something else caused the BSOD, so I left the phone plugged into my laptop and rebooted. As soon as my laptop got past the "starting windows" screen, it BSODed again. Didn't even get to the "Please wait..." screen.
Tried to reboot again - BSOD before getting to the "Please wait..." screen. Finally I suspected my phone was the culprit, so I unplugged it. Another reboot - it successfully got to the "Please wait..." screen, and then I plugged in the phone (still off), triggering a BSOD in under 10 seconds, before I could even get the field to input my password.
Rebooted with the phone plugged in but powered on this time, and my laptop fully booted all the way, no BSODs. But if I powered off the phone and plugged it in, BSOD! Looks like I'll have to wait till I get home to my AC charger before I can calibrate this battery
This is quite strange - I never had any problems like this on the old GB partition, if I were to plug in my phone to the laptop with the phone powered off.
Has anyone else experienced such an issue before? If it helps, my work laptop is a corporate machine so I don't have admin access over many of its functions (though I can still install and uninstall programs like normal), and it's loaded to the brim with corporate bloatware, and it's possible these properties contributed to the BSOD.
Charging(forming) new battery via usb is never recommended to be honest
Most usb device don't provide enough power or stable voltages like charger designed for our phone
I personally never liked charging via usb(most usb hub's dont work properly also if they need to provide current to hungry device(our phone example)..
I have no prob's with that options and also using custom battery 1700mah...
I have no sod's on win but have read that people had problems and sods sometimes with usb charging...
It's hard to pinpoint exactly where problem lies, could be your low power usb on motherboard crashing your win or something else..
Hmm that sounds likely. I'm back home anyways and will use my AC charger to condition the battery.
I remember that on the old CM10 nightlies (before the call bug was fixed), the USB charger always BSODed my phone...
... an easy solution would be to start using a real operating system on your computer instead of windows

Believe me, I do - I use Linux as my main OS on my home computer, and only boot into Windows for games
However this is a corporate laptop that doesn't actually belong to me and I can't meddle with it like that.
My SM910T was working fine, and suddenly the screen froze for a few seconds, then blanked.
From that point on, the phone has done nothing but a brief vibration.
After a battery pull, starting up with 1) normal power switch 2) download startup 3) recovery startup 4) inserting USB cable
all result in the same: A short delay, a brief buzz from the vibration, which may repeat again every few seconds. The screen remains black.
When connected to a Windows computer with USB, the phone is enumerated. It shows up as these devices:
SAMSUNG_Android SAMSUNG Mobile USB Component,
trtlemo
Port #0004 SAMSUNG Android ADB Interface.
ADB does not work. The command "adb devices" returns the null list (List of devices attached)- it does not see any device attached.
Windows sees the phones internal file system as an MTP drive, and shows the file structure, but the files are not accessible.
ODIN sees there is a phone attached (it says <ID:0/004> Added!!)
What mode or state is the phone in, and what should be done to restore normal operation?
You may simply have a bad battery. Have your tried another?

I don't have another battery, but I can order one. I can't prove that the battery is not bad, but I don't think that is the issue. It runs the phone and is only down to 65 to 75% at the end of a day under normal use. At the time this problem started it was a bit lower, I think about 50%.
Even though the display was black and didn't show the charging logo, I left the phone on the charger with the battery inserted for 8 hours. It still didn't boot normally.
Assuming the phone had a hardware problem, I initiated a warranty replacement process. I wanted to see if any of my existing software tools could wipe the internal data before returning it so I tried a few (as described above). One I hadn't tried was Kies. I connected the phone to USB, and let it settle (USBdeview showed the phone connected and disconnected about 8 times before stabilizing). Then I ran Kies3, and saw the Emergency Recovery on the tools menu. I opened it to see if it would recognize the phone. The phone did not appear in the "list of devices requiring emergency recovery". However, after doing that, the phone booted normally. I don't know what Kies3 does, or if it did anything - maybe it was just a coincidence. But the screen activated, and the phone booted normally. The battery was charged, so it appears that charging does take place even if the system does not boot.
