Facebook/android.process.acore Issue! - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Every time I install Facebook and first login, I start getting the "android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly" error pop-up. Any app that uses contacted (Gmail, Phone, etc.) immediately shuts down when this pop-up appears, so I can no longer send email or make phone calls until I uninstall Facebook.
I've read other threads online about deleting cache/memory for "Contact Storage", I've formatted the cache partition in recovery, done several of the other remedies other than factory resetting at this this point with no luck.
I have a T-Mobile purchased Nexus 6, 32GB running on my VZW account with SIM card from my Droid Maxx.
Is anyone else seeing this? Any suggestions?

Moto Voice Problems

My Moto Voice seems to be playing up. I've only properly noticed it today.
Here's how it goes when the device is sleeping.
Me: What's up Moto X
Voice: beep
Me: Send text to wife
Voice: Ok. What's your message?
Me: hello
Voice: Ok sending. Say or type a pin.
Me: 1234
Screen says 'message sent' but it doesn't send the message!!
Same problem when I ask it to set a timer!
I'm seeing the same problem on a Samsung SG3. There is a recently introduced bug in the recent Search update. This was reported on Android Central. Article here.
I'm glad to see it formally reported, I have been searching the heck out of it and coming up with nothing. I've reinstalled GNL, Search & Hangouts to no avail.
In my case, when using Voice Command for a text, I get a "no SMS app installed" error, despite having Hangouts as my default message app.
I'm hoping they get this sorted quickly. My phone has had this bug for the past week or two.
It's not your brand new phone acting up, it's Search software bugs.
Right I changed my launch phrase to something else and now I can set a timer. but sending a message still not working. I'm running the stock Messaging app. Anyone else experiencing this??
Messaging still not working when using Moto Voice. I've note opened a support case with Motorola. I've made sure Messaging is the default app, used different launch phrases, tried restarting my phone.
Anyone else experiencing this?
My voice command text messaging is back. I recieved a Gmail update the other day, probably serendipity. I tried voice command texting today & it worked! I can also set an alarm via voice command, but not the countdown timer. The alarm is used for all timer sets now. Go figure, maybe server side on Google's part.
Motorola advised me to restart in safe mode and try again but no luck.
Now they're advising me to do a factory reset of the phone but I'm reluctant to do this as I'll lose ALL my settings and apps. Will try and make some time tonight or tomorrow to perform this. Will need to make a list of all my apps and folders I've created.
Still no go? That kind of stinks. They're just telling you the standards, factory reset, etc. Your apps should come flying back as you log back into your Google account after a factory reset. It's just time consuming to factory reset.
Moto Voice just released an update a little while ago. Give that a try.
I've managed to fix the issue after narrowing it down.
It was only not working when texting my wife. It worked for others.
I deleted her number from Contacts app and created it again and now it's working perfectly.
The Moto Voice update didn't make a difference as I tried that. Didn't bother with a factory reset in the end as it just takes too long and pointless.
Hopefully this helps others who get the same issue.

[Q] Texts Gone / How To Recover

My Droid 4 crashed on me and when I rebooted it and went to my text messages I received an empty screen with the simple message of "No text messages". The phone deleted ALL of my messages, even my locked/ protected ones, which I NEED. I'm using stock messaging and so far, none of those so called text recovery programs have worked. They don't seem to be able to find the deleted text messages. I've tried contacting Motorola customer service (twice, actually) and they're telling me there is nothing they can do, that once they're deleted, they're gone forever. Which is bull. I know they're stored in there until they're over written and I've had my phone either off or in airplane mode. I should also mention that I do have Backup Assistant plus and it was activated... but after the crash, the shortcut to it in my apps has vanished. The only way I could find it was going in through files and when I tried to connect to it it told me it was unable to. That was the first thing I tried when I saw the missing texts. I tried the next day to connect again, it gave me the same message, tried it again later and it finally connected... only to have reset itself. It was as if I had never used it before, and I have. So, I have no backup and no messages. I'm beyond furious at this point. Does anyone know where the files are stored and can they give me step by step instructions on how to get there so I can get back my locked texts? I don't even care about the other ones, it's the LOCKED ones I need. They were locked for a reason, after all. I've also read that some of the Android phones have a history option when it comes to texts. I would love to know how to access that on the Droid 4, although, something tells me the Droid 4 doesn't have one of those.
To recap:
1) Can anyone give me instructions on going through my phone's files?
2) Is there a history mode on the Droid 4?
3) How do I use that history mode (assuming question two is a "yes")?
4)Any other possible ways of retrieving this data?
5)Does anyone know where on the phone the files are stored?
Edit: I've just attempted to go to android.com/devicemanager to see if there was something I can do from there, but it won't log me in. It just keeps asking for my password.

Unfortunately, (app name) has stopped.

My girlfriend and I just received our Galaxy S6s from T-Mobile. Mine seems to be working fine. When we first set hers up, she kept getting a message that said "Unfortunately, (app name) has stopped." I gave her phone a factory reset. Now, it's happening on the Gmail app whenever she tries to access an email.
She installed the update already. Anyone else have this problem? 64gb Galaxy S6.
EDIT
It's working now. I gave the phone a -second- factory reset, but this time I didn't restore her account. When I opened Gmail this time, I was prompted to install Google Play Services. Perhaps the previous times, the phone was too busy installing other apps and hadn't updated/installed Play Services yet? In any event, everything's fine here, we're all fine, how are you?
Same thing happened with my wife's and it was because of google play services being updated as well.

Problem with SMS

Ok so i figured i would look for help here before ending up at a t-mobile store with my rooted g4.
My issue is as of yesterday my phone stopped being able to send sms. It receives them fine. And can place and receive calls fine. My bill is paid up and my service is A-OK. I have the same results on cellular or wifi calling. Text gets stuck as "sending". Then never sends or fails. Just stays as "sending" even after rebooting.
I'm running the 10n firmware, rooted and debloated. I have not changed any settings or any apps recently at all. It just sorta stopped.
I have tried:
-removing and cleaning my sim card
-clearing cache
-screaming at my phone
-turning off wifi
-canceling all pending texts, rebooting, clearing cache again
All with no luck. Any advice? Ideas? Theories?
I find myself constantly rebooting when this occurs, which is often.
It's the one disappointing problem with this phone.
Have you tried any other text apps, such as textra or handcent, just to see if it's your messaging app?
gonna try Textra next. Seems to be a popular suggestion.
Had this happened to me too. Tried Textra and it got better but still has hiccups
Tried Textra, Chop and a couple others. None as good as the OEM LG app. I think this phone just has wifi issues.

Question Not receiving texts

Hi, I hope someone can help me with this, I searched other threads for also other models of Xiaomi phones but everything I tried is not helping.
Basically, I'm not receiving all texts. I am receiving some (from certain networks), but not receiving the rest, including authentication codes from all services/apps. My phone is up to date software wise (MIUI 14.0.3). My messaging app is Google Messages and that's what was installed as default when I bought the phone. This has been going on for a few days, can't tell how long exactly but I noticed on Friday. Things I've tried so far:
- the standard of rebooting the phone, reinserting sim card, deleting cache in messaging app, putting my simcard into the 2nd slot
- trying a different messaging app,
- checking the smsc number,
- making sure my messaging app has autostart on,
- making sure miui optimisation is on in developer settings (saw it worked for some people - not me unforch)
- contacted my network provider who weren't able to help me troubleshoot this as everything seems fine on their end.
Does anyone else have an idea what could help? I'm trying to avoid doing a factory reset cause if this doesn't work I'll have to log into my apps again and a lot of them require a verification sms to come through to log in and obviously these are not coming through so I'll be stuck
Many thanks
