I recently purchased a note 4 from t-mobile.The phone was working great until a couple of days ago.The problem is when the phone is on 4G lte network I can't make calls or text.I get no network available. The phone was still on warranty so I exchange for a new one but still same problem. If I change to WCDMA/GSM calls and texts go through.I call them up they told me to stay on WCDMA/GSM for a couple of days and then call back if problem persists.I will like to know what might be the problem. Thanks!

Hey guys, do you know how to disable the service blasts from Airtel??? NOT the promotional SMS's but the ones that say 'You have used 20 MB of your 2004 MB limit'. Please let me know cause whenever those show up, the 3g disconnects for a few secs and those pile up on top of each other if ignored and I have to go through all of them to attend a call. Much appreciated!
Message Issue
I already had a word with airtel customer care regarding the same issue but they don't have any option to turn off those messages for 3G balance deduction. I checked my Note as well I don't think there is any option in it to turn those messages off.
Do let me know if any one gets any luck.
Thanks
Ankush
i hav same issue since 3 yrs
i have had a words with then very early, but same thing i found. No solution.
Basically I am using push services, so hardly i get disconnect except changing to wifi OR service interruption. So getting msg only that time.
Actually I use 2g connection of airtel and have no such issues

Actually if it comes from same number number every time, you could black list it

I got an answer from airtel executive and that used to solve this partially. Airtel exec " sir this is because you are at place were there is access for two towers and either one will be having only 2g network as prior bandwidth, to solve this if you are not using 3g all the time switch off 3g and let the phone 2g mode. This might reduce the number of messages for you" I did so and it worked for me when am in office, when I go home switch back to 3g and this reduced those messages (almost null)

Where I live I have decent LTE signal strength about -85dbm in the house. Currently my phone says LTE, but if I make a phone call the network automatically switches to H, and internet is incredibly slow. When I get off the phone the network will still stay on H but internet browsing speeds will improve.
Restarting the phone does not seem to fix the issue, and it will take hours for it to go back to LTE. The only way I've found I can get it right back to LTE is by calling T-Mobile and having them reset my phone to the cell tower and I will regain full signal.
Can someone explain to me what in gods name is going on. I'm running stock android 5.0.1
Thank you

Nexus 6 does not support Voice over LTE (VoLTE) on T-Mobile network or VoLTE is not in your area. That is why its changing to HSPA speeds when you make the phone call.
The connection to HSPA should go back to LTE after your phone call is done though, even though it isn't doing that for you.
Thank you. But is there any reason when switching to the HSDPA network and on call my service is so miserably slow? Its like being in a 14.4k modem. Takes forever to load something.

Have you tried updating your modem/radio? Verified APN settings? New SIM card?
I have T-Mobile and there's no VoLTE where I live but the speeds are still 20mb/s with H+ while I'm on a call. VoLTE would be nice but I don't think its enabled in any network for the Nexus 6 yet.
Hopefully when N6 gets TMo WiFi Calling, VoLTE support gets added. It would be nice
I updated the radio when I flashed the newest 5.0.1 update. I did the update manually so I know I flashed the updated radio... This was one of the issues I had with the original 5.0.0 software that I was hoping the update would fix.

How do I verify the APN and make sure everything is correct with that?

Hi,
I received this replacement T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 from Asurion yesterday and it is happening that T-Mobile network signals are dropping randomly and most of the time. I did not had this problem with my earlier note 4 which unfortunately I lost. I am not sure if this is hardware problem or some app is causing trouble although all the apps are same which were installed on my last note 4. Should I return this hand set and ask for replacement or there is some solution for this problem?
Thanks
Return
If the device is not rooted return it. If rooted maybe is a problem with baseband.
Did you check the date roaming option in networks. That solved my dropped call problem
Maybe doing work on Towers in your area? I had same issue, ended up being upgrading towers. My signal would randomly drop, go back up then drop again. This went on for several days before it was back to normal. T-Mobile didon't have clue till I demanded to talk to the highest department. Working fantastic now. My data speeds are just sick. Lightning fast. Thank You T-Mobile, Thank You John Legere.
Probably a issue with your APN

Is there a way to make my phone ALWAYS connect to lte whenever there is ANY signal for it without losing calling and text? I know that if you go into *#*#4636#*#* you can force the phone to stay lte, but if I do that I loose calling and texting capabilities.
My problem is my building has lte signal thought, but my phone thinks 3g is better in the first floor so it connects to it... Forcing it to lte with *#*#4636#*#* works for data, but calls and text don't go through at all.

if sprint doesnt have volte, then you can not. im using tmobile, which is using volte, so i enable lte only, and get calls and texts. if no volte, then you wont get calls or texts via lte.

I was thinking more along the lines of telling the phone 3g data doesn't exist or is always worse, so if it sees lte it should grab it but at the same time staying connected to cdma so phone calls work

itll always choose the best signal thats available to it. if it happens to be 3G, then thats what itll be. so no volte on sprint yet?

No volte.
Right the problem is my phone isn't choosing the truly BEST signal. 3g in my first floor gets 0.2-0.6 Mbps whereas my LTE there is 0.5- 1.3 Mbps yet my phone connects to 3g...

that sucks
Same problem here. LTE is 5mb/s and 3G is 200kb/s and my phone wants to switch to 3G constantly
Make sure it isn't set to global. Will handoff even more.
I have Samsung Note 4 N910C Android 5.1.1. I went to service menu by dialing *#2263# and I set it LTE only and my signals are lost. Now can anyone help me. How can I set it to Automatic again.

dial *#*#4636#*#*, select phone info, scroll down and srlwct lte/gsm/cdma.. but anyways, this is a nexus 6 forums, not a samsung note forums.

You do realize that a quicker speed does not mean a better signal reception, right?

right, that's also what the phone thinks, I want the speed not the reception. why would I want reception? I don't do phone calls like a caveman
I do realize the LTE fringes on -120dbm, but the few seconds it loses lte isn't enough to affect browsing, yet my phone thinks it's signal doomsday and switches to 3g
Got my LTE version from AT&T version 2 days ago. Is there anyway to install the samsung caller app to make phone calls other than using hangouts or whatsapp ? Also trying to figure out to keep data but using just 4g instead of LTE to keep data down . On my edge + phone I can put a dialer code in to get to special settings . Anyway doing this ? Thank you! !!!
