Yesterday morning, I opened up my Tab S 8.4 to find an unusual looking home screen. There was a large weather card at the top of the screen, my icons were arrayed below it, and the home screen navigations looked different. I swiped over one screen, swiped back, and it was back to normal. Looking online, the screen I saw was the Lollipop home screen. What gives? Anyone else seeing Lollipop behavior on non-Lollopop devices?
Can you post a screenshot or link to a picture?

Unfortunately no. It showed up only once and I haven't been able to make it come back (however much I'd like to).

Maybe Google Now somehow glitched out with the homescreen
. Wrong thread!

Hi:
I am brand new to Captivate (from a Tilt 2), so am exploring Android. So far I am in love with it.
I have searched, and can't seem to find how to set the Home screen. What I mean is, I found how to edit screens (add, remove). But, for some reason the Home button always takes me to the screen farthest to the right. I would like for it to take me to the center screen. How do I do this?
Thanks!
I think on TouchWiz, if you only have 3 homescreens created, the default will be the one on the far right. If you create more homescreens (say 7), it will be the one in the middle. Try adding more homescreens to the right of the one that is defaulted for you right now. Then once you get the one in middle as your default, you can delete the ones to the far left and right if you don't want all 7 screens. Hope this makes sense.
The default is the one with the little home icon at the bottom. You can put it anywhere

Hi:
WD33- Thanks so much. I tried that. I have added and subtracted a million screens, but there seems to be no rhyme or or reason (sometimes it's the farthest one to the left, sometimes it's the second to last etc), and I can't seem to get the middle one as home.
Dani:
Thanks for your reply. I don't see the little home icon. You do mean in the edit screen to edit tabs, right?
Thanks again to both of you!
EDIT: Well, after much trial and error, I had to go back to the original 7 screen layout in order to get the center screen to be home.
Every time I add an additional home screen it goes to the far right,
I can't seem to move it to another position say far left.
I have tried going into the widget bit long holding the screen I want to move and dragging it, but it doesn't work, only way to do it would be to move all the widgets across one by one.
Any help would be great,
Aaron

the only way is make a new screen the home screen so if you want one screen on the left and 2 on the right make the 2nd screen the home screen or the last screen the home screen
i hope that makes sense
Team,
I have an Xperia 10.1 Tab with JB 4.2.2.
I use this heavily for note taking but I am plagued by the bottom action bar only needing the slightest touch to send the screen back to Home. This means that during writing, I am constantly having to force myself to keep my wrist away from touching the bottom of the screen.
In the Xperia manual, it shows the three icons on the left of the screen but mine are in the centre. Just to be able to move them to the left would solve my problem but I can't find any guidance. Can anyone assist? I don't want to root the tab (As I want to be able to watch Sky Go )
Thanks
Sorry to bump this but I could really do with some expertise. Does anyone have a Z Tab with the bottom menu icons shifted to the left per the instruction book?
Cheers
I was wondering how to move my home screen from the one on the far left to the center screen? I have looking for a way for a couple hours and can't find it.
No way to do it on the stock launcher.
Haven't found one either

I haven't found a way either. I bought my phone Thursday, the moment it was released. Prior to that, while researching some pre release reviews (I read so many, Phone Arena, Droid Life, CNET, etc etc) I ran across a review lamenting the fact that the home screen was moved to the left instead of the center, but I can't remember which site it was. I had the Home screen in the center on my 2013 Droid Maxx and then I had screens to the left and right with various themes (this is my media, music and movies screen, this is my games screen, this is my productivity, etc). The location of the Home screen on the Turbo is where I had my music, movies, and media on my Maxx. It was weird getting used to the Home screen being all the way to the left, but after a few days I'm fine with it.
Just move the stuff on your home screen to a different page...
Home is Home

If he moves the stuff on the Home screen to a different page when he hits the Home button it will take him to a page he doesn't want.

Long press on a blank part of any screen, widgets and wallpaper option appear at the bottom. At this point you can long press any of the pages and move them around.
Thanks, that's useful. But it doesn't solve the problem that pressing the "home" button takes you to the leftmost screen. It was much handier having it take me to the center screen, from which I could swipe left or right for my three main screens.

Can't be done on the Turbo, without a 3rd party launcher.

Nova works the same as stock with more customization. I'd recommend trying it

Exactly. Nova is also very fast.
Plus you can add number of screens, decide how many rows/columns of icons you want per page.
You can upload backups of your screen layout to Dropbox or email, so any future phone can have the layout you want.
Lots of stuff.
I even have a different icon theme than Kitkat, downloaded from Google store.
I upgraded to the S6 Edge from an S3. On the S3 the home screens and app menu wrapped around (i.e. swiping right on the far right screen brought me to the far left screen) and if I pressed on the dot corresponding to any home or app screen it would navigate directly to that one. On the S6 Edge, screens do not wrap around and pressing on any dot that's not next to the screen I'm on just moves it one screen in the right direction, but not all the way there. This is a pretty frustrating way to navigate as it means more swiping. Anybody able to get some better screen navigation for home and app screens or am I stuck with this?
Yes, this is my EXACT problem. Is there some magic setting that unlocks this feature? I didn't realize how much I relied on the navigation dots till that functionality disappeared with my new S6! It's such a little thing, but it's making using the new phone really, really aggravating. Has anybody found a solution to this?
ETA: I too upgraded from an S3, but to a plain S6, not the S6 Edge. I don't know how I feel about the fact that this is apparently a problem across phones . . .
Also, while we're at it, can we make the menu button come back? I miss it. . So to recap: 1) navigation dots, 2) screen wrap around navigation, 3) menu button. All missing. All essential.

Agreed! This is terrible! Is this one of those Touch Wiz cuts that everyone is praising? Ugh, I miss the dots and the wraparound home screens.
