[Q] Change language on xperia Z1 without touchscreen - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Congratulations for this great site, I thank you in advance for the help you can give me. I bought a xperia z1 with a touch screen broken and the phone language is Chinese, could you tell me how I can change the phone language without using the touch screen in order to test the phone before change the digitizer screen.
Is there a parameter file to edit somewhere ?
thank you

Omnia Mouse on Xperia X1

hello
please help me to have a mouse cursor like Omnia mouse on Xperia X1 !!!!
i now it's only a software , but i can't find it !!!
thanks a lot !!
i tried out an Omnia before getting the xperia and the 'mouse' option was one thing i liked about it. so i'll second that request.
+1 on that request. Might be a way to port over the dll and drivers from the Omnia or Epix.
would lik this also
Yeah, i'm jumping on the bandwagon too.
I just know about this programm. But it's shareware .
I just tried it. I don't like it. I would like some diagonal movement of the mouse, but is it possible?
i swear i saw an app like this a few months ago (forgot its name) being developed on this forum, at that stage there was no optical joystick function but the were planning it for the next updated, who knows what stage it is at now???
I found another app that might fit the bill:
http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?section=usbinput
I haven't tried it, but it looks promising. It gives us mouse and keyboard support. And it has two versions, one for connecting via our unit's USB slot, and one via Bluetooth.
Based on the videos I've seen on its website, it didn't show it in landscape mode, so I don't know if it can do things flawlessly in this mode. Not sure how stable it is too.
What I really want is a universal USB capability for the Xperia wherein we can connect any input device, or flash/thumb drives or external hard disks . Is there such a thing? If there is, kindly point me to the right direction!

If, for example there is a USB host driver available, can it make the Xperia's USB slot into a host? The reason I asked is because I just googled and found someone who has sort of produced these drivers, check it out:
http://forum.ppcwarez.org/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=58813
The original poster was the one who packaged it, and it seems to be freeware. The thing I'm not so clear about is that he mentioned that his unit is a Fujitsu Siemens Pocket Loox 560N, and that it shipped with USB host capability. I don't know if he was actually saying that he has extracted the necessary drivers from his unit or that a unit with host capability is a requirement for this app...hmmmm... Well, I haven't tried it yet because it scares me. Anyone brave enough to try it and report on the findings?
we now the X1 and Omnia has a trackpad for scrolling !!!
omnia has a software to turn this trackpad into a virtual mouse , i need this software to turn my X1 trackpad into a virtual mouse like omina !!!
i really need it , please help me !!!
thanks a lot !!!
hmmm
Not sure why this hasn't been done yet? I think it would be great to have the optical pad function as a mouse for quick one handed use...

Can you please explain...how would a mouse function provide a "quick one handed use"?
It's always faster to simply press the icon on the touchscreen. Also, using the D-PAD to select is faster than trying to hit the right icon with a thumb on a small optical pad.
I never had the use for an optical mouse for the time I use the Xperia and I really doubt it would be an effort.
This should be no offense, it's just my experience.
it is faster, because to touch something on the screen, it is way more comfortable to hold the device in the left hand and use your right hand fingers, if you need to be precise. with the optical mouse you can position the cursor almost pixel-accurate. it is very useful, but i missed a regular dpad on the i780.
a regulard dpad + mouse would be best.

That's exactly what I wanted to say with my post.
I hold the phone in my hand and touch the screen with the same hand's thumb. Works fine, works exactly and I never use the stylus and therefore I have no need for a mouse either
I don't understand why you who don't need/want a mousecursor post in this thread.
I myself would like the option to use a mousecursor. Maybe I won't use it, maybe I will.
More features= More fun...

OMG ... you sound like a marketing guy. more features = more fun. look @ twitter, less features -> way more fun
but for real, it would only make things more difficult. if u are unable to place your finger/stylus on an marked spot, then imagine how complicated it will become for you if u have to place a mousecursor with the optical pad
during the time u spent to place the cursor over a certain spot, i would have allready taken out my stylus, touched the spot and insterted it back sicne the optical pad is somewaht limited.

Tv-Out Option ??

Bought an MHL cable today .. but cant find out where the TV OUT settings are ..
is that because its disabled in Stock ?
the cable i have has no option for external power source .. i tried it on my tv and pc monitor bot fail to show anything on screen..
perhaps i need the correct cable that need power source also ? is there an option on the phone that i cant see to enable tv out that isnt visable in stock ?
HELP
Thanks
Normally the note wont need any extra settings to connect via MHL (i´m not completely sure because i am using the sheep rom).
BUT in my opinion its not possible to use a mhl adapter without a power hub, are you sure that theres no slot for the normal charging cable. I dont want to criticize you, it just took me while to find it
Ohh Jesus ... Thanks your right ... i feel SO DUMB .. i found the power input on the side !
i think i was so excited to play mario kart on the big screen i missed it
Thanks !!
thanks
can u please put some photo if its work
& from where u bought it?
thanks again
I bought one from Monoprice.com. It was $15. Works fine. I find it awkward how the dongle hangs when I am using the phone. I am going to look for a microusb extender if there is such a thing.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA App
i bought mine from 7day shop
http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_5&products_id=112849
works GREAT ! £10.99

[Q] Mirroring help

Hello,
Hope you guys can help?
I have just got a Panasonic Veira TX-40AS640B and I have a nexus 6.
The TV has a mirroring function on it but cast screen does not pick the TV up.
Am I missing an app or do I need to use chromcast or similar??
The message on the TV reads:
Viera_txas640b_dc1b
Input devices such as a smartphone or PC display the screen to viera.
Please select viera as a output device after wireless connect mode is started by input device.
Please refer to instruction of input device such as method of connection
Waiting connection from input device
Any help appreciated

The Nexus 6 doesn't support MHL (VieraLink in Panasonic words) out of the box. Easiest way is just to get a Chromecast for $30. That's what I use on my Panasonic flat screen.
Or maybe try the build.prop edit if you're rooted.. Not sure it'd work but why not? I'll try to find it right now
Add this to build.prop I you'd like to try.. Idk if it breaks anything or its fully functional. Or if you even want to go through the trouble haha
persist.debug.wfd.enable=1

Unfortunately I'm not rooted currently. I actually don't feel the need to with this phone
I'm sure in time I will root it.
I thought I would need Chromecast but wanted to check. Best I get shopping then!

ACEPC Mini PC Windows & AV IN

Given that most or all of the MTCB units have a AV in option, would it be possible to connect a mini pc and use the screen as the display and would the touch screen fucntion still work ???
I've given up hope on this thing working properly so I'm thinking out the box now, failing that I'm gonna scrap it and buy a branded headunit.
Cheers

Unless your head unit exposes the touch screen on an interface you can connect to, it won't work

Easy projection - Wireless Keyboard/Mouse

Hi all,
Sorry if this has already been covered and, if so, please point me in the right direction but I'm struggling to find a Wireless/Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to use when using Easy Projection.
All of the ones I've seen have needed to facility for a Nano Connector and I don't have a HDMI hub with a USB port on it.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

That's why you do not buy a wireless keyboard. You need to make sure it clearly says Bluetooth keyboard, that one doesn't need USB. I have one, it works very well and feels good.
