Important notice:
- You flash this image at your own responsibility. I am not responsible for any damage that might be caused by flashing this image (bricked device, lost data, ...)
- Flashing this kernel image will trigger the KNOX counter, so your warranty will be void.
- The image is only for S5 Mini SM-G800F (Exynos)
- The kernel is not tested well. It might be instable, crash your device, drain your battery, or even might damage your smartphone (e.g. if an OTG device drains too much power)
- Backup your data before flashing and check if the original firmware is present (e.g. at SamMobile)
Background:
For some reason, the stock kernel does not provide USB-OTG support, although the G800F hardware seems to be capable of it. The G800F even powers the OTG devices if the OTG feature is activated in the kernel.
Although general USB-OTG support is compiled into the stock kernel, OTG-support was deactivated for the built-in USB-switch SM5502. This is the reason why OTG devices are not supported by the stock firmware.
This kernel adds suport for USB-OTG. It is based on the official source code from Samsung's open source page (G800FXXU1ANG1). No change was made to the kernel sources. Only the kernel configuration was changed to enable the missing OTG features for the SM5502 driver.
Also see the USB Host / OTG discussion thread for further infos.
WARNING: There might be a reason why this feature is disabled in stock firmware. It is possible that this feature causes instabilites or even damages your device (e.g. if the G800F cannot handle the OTG-device power drain).
How to flash:
Download the kernel image from Link
Download Odin (I used Odin3-v3.07 contained in CF-Auto-Root)
Reboot your device into Odin mode: turn off your device, then press Volume-Down + Home + Power button at the same time and release them. Confirm the following message with the Volume-Up button.
Connect your device to your PC via USB
Make sure the device driver's are installed on your PC
Start Odin
Select PDA and select the kernel image (boot.tar.md5)
Check that only "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" is set
Click on "Start": the kernel image should be flashed now and the device should reboot afterwards
Tested USB-OTG devices (all working):
HID keyboard and mouse
USB flash stick
USB-audio
tivizen DBT-T stick
Samsung Dock EDD-D200B (only charging support, no audio routing)
If you are not too discouraged by all the warranty loss and damage risk issues - have fun with USB-OTG
At least it works really well for me.

Do you have the G800F or the G800H? The modified kernel only works with the G800F.
What does "is stop in Odin mode" mean? Did the phone reboot after flashing or is it stuck in Odin mode or is the PC stuck in Odin? What is the output of Odin (phone and PC)?
Removing the battery and reinserting it might help if the phone is just stuck in Odin mode. You should avoid such a hard reboot if the PC already started with flashing.
However, if something went wrong, you can reflash the original kernel. Download the firmware from sammobile and extract the boot.img and reflash it with Odin (you might have to tar.md5 it before, otherwise Odin rejects it).

hi hennymcc
one question for you :
with usb audio enabled, can you play music with any music player, or is "usb audio recorder pro" needed ?
i'd like to plug it to an external dac/amp like fiio e17/18
thanks for your answer and for your work !

Hello? anyone ?
Finaly i dropped the s5 mini idea. I'm as interested in the waterproof capability as in the USB audio feature. And i'm not that into tweaking the phone without knowing the exact consequences. I ordered the xperia z1 compact, which seems to have all the pros i'm looking for without the cons (maybe a bit more expensive though).
Thanks for your help.
In France, the talking to somebody with no answer, and finding the solution, we name it the "duck theory". I've got my solution, thanks for being my duck.

[Q]Korean GalaxyS I9000 won't boot after ClockWorkMod Recovery wrong model flash

Hi all!
I've been doing some research in how to flash my phone (which is a Korean GalaxyS I9000 Mini) and I wasn't quite sure if it's fully compatible with the ROMs for the original Samsung Galaxy. At least it was running Samsung's Eclair image (with some minor bugs).
I bought it in Everbuying, you can find it with this name: Galaxys I9000
*This phone doesn't have the 3 keys combo enabled, so I can't boot in Recovery or Download mode.
Before I start to flash the phone I wanted to perform a backup and then fix the button combo bug, so I downloaded Rom Manager to use the ClockWorkMod Recovery, but when I first tried selecting Galaxy S I9000 for the boot flash nothing happened and I was still getting the default Stock Recovery 2e.
Because I'm kind a stu**d, I thought... "Maybe I can try with another Samsung S model" and then I tried to flash ClockWorkMod selecting the Samsung Captivative model.
Now, when I turn on the phone it gets stuck in the Galaxy S boot up screen and there is nothing else I can do.
I think tomorrow I will try to make a JIG cable, but I'm not sure if it's going to work, I never was able to access Download mode, neither with ADB commands.
Someone have any suggestion?
Is there anyway to revert the bootloader to the old state?
Thanks!!
PS: Here is a screenshot with the Model information
Hi.
Unfortunately I have no idea to help you. However, I would like to know if the "magnetic field sensor" and GPS of your cellphone work.
I also have a I9000 mini with Android 2.2, but couldn't use GPS, magnetic field sensor and backup the actual ROM (I tried with ROM Manager).

Hi!
The GPS doesn't works fine, but I think is related to this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=842694
I didn't test the magnetic field sensor, but I think only the gravity sensor works.
Today I've made a JIG cable and it's not working )=
I think I messed up this time, download mode doesn't seem to be present in this phone...

The phone was rooted.
Fixing the 3 button combo was going to be my next step... but I wasn't able to install CWM completely and when I picked up a different model in the ROM Manager app the phone stopped working.
I will try to repair the phone in my country (Argentina), if I can't... I will have to send the phone back to China and it's going to be like 3 months!
Searching for i9000 mini on the Internet I found a chinese forum that has some information about our cellphone. There are some topics with information about how to upgrade the i9000 mini. Maybe you can find some help there too. Some links are:
products.mobileuncle.com

/thread-45364-1-1.html
The cable necessary to flash the cellphone is a regular USB to 3.5mm type? Because a user here in XDA said that a cable to flash MTK cellphones could be bought at etowalk.com (search for "mtk"). I found it (I guess), but it cost $50. At dealextreme.com there is a regular USB to 3.5mm cable (sku.2552) for about $1.5. Are they the same?

[Q] Confused Completly about how to do update?

I am so sorry for being so stupid to ask,but m left with no option, but to ask.
I have SGH gt-i9000.
I have it working.
I use t-mobile USA
But I want to update it fully.
Have no clue how to do it.
Need elaborated steps which will tell me how can i make the best use of it.
I am actually looking for the most stable and reliable version for my phone which lets me keep it working smooth free of all bugs. I would really appreciate if some of you genius can help me out.
Thanks in advance.
Look at video on samfirmware. com and youtube, read stickies in xda, stock jvu with andip's theme and semaphore kernel is fast and rock solid.

First of all, you need to download and install Kies to have the latest drivers for your phone. (You can get kies from Samsung's official webpage) Then download Odin. The latest version is 1.83 afaik. Then you need to download a proper firmware for your phone, which you can do at sammobile.com under the firmwares tab. (you need to register to be able to download, it takes half a minute). After that, extract the firmware using winrar or something like that. You should have a few files which you have to put in Odin, you can find many guides for that on how to do it and what options to tick. You have to put your device into download mode - first switch off (pull the sim card and external sd, as it might cause some errors while flashing), then hold the home-volume down-power keys for a few seconds. You will enter download mode. Before plugging in your phone to your computer, make sure no part of kies is running on your pc (use task manager). Some drivers might install. After that, Odin should "see" your device, a yellow box will appear with the port used. If all the files are at the right place, start flashing (make sure your device has at least 70 percent battery). Only unplug your phone after it has fully booted. Done!
Now you only need to apply a custom kernel. I recommend Semaphore. Search for it on the forums. Switch off your phone again and put it into download mode. Reset Odin. Put the downloaded semaphore kernel into the pda box. Plug in your phone. Flash. Done!
Please hit thanks if I helped

[Q] i9000t tricky update question

hi i received a i9000t, that is in 2.1 and i need to update to 2.3.3, but the tricky parts is that usb doesn't work and it does not have 3 key combo, so it doesn't go to recovery or download, what is odd is that as well as a i9100 water damaged i received, both phones have a clean and well soldered usb conector, but always usb not recognized, but if i use a uart conection like an unlocking box with a rj45 cable it reads phone info, but that is no good to flash or anything.(just to let this info know).
but my question is can i, or should i try to update through cwm, already rooted it with z4root, i would like an official 2.3.3, but i think not possible, only modified rom, as well mobile odin doesn't support 't' version of i9000, so what should or can do?
thank you very much indeed for help or guide
atv
Have you installed the Samsung drivers on your computer?
Edit, my bad, didn't see you can't get in download mode
Maybe this would help you:

If you are more technical you could try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604707

SGS GT-i9000 fozen on the first boot screen (Galaxy S GT-i9000 SCREEN)

I own a Galaxy S GT-i9000( bought at SFR)
When I connect it to computer I get the prompt that tells to choose between Storage, Kies...
But whatever I choose the computer tells me USB Device not recognised.
Now I was stupid enough to do the following:
I managed to root using Z4root by copying the APK file on external sd .
I got rom manager and updated my recovery.
I updated using the CM10-unofficial rom that is in the development forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1775169
The Mobile Network was not working so I did the following
I restored the nand that i did in recovery and now the phone is frozen on the first boot screen (Galaxy S GT-i9000 SCREEN)
Now I can go to Download mode but I can't go to recovery mode.
Let me remind you that my USB data connection is not working. So even though I enter into the Download mode I am not able to use Odin. If you know somthing that I am not doing, let me know.
So now I am looking for a solution that would permit me to flash without USB or allow me to go to recovery mode. Or a tutorial on how to change the usb port myself.
Thanks in advance.

You can try using Mobile Odin.
Also, you can try Heimdall method: https://www.fixmystuff.in/FMS_Forum...-flashing-to-original-rom-using-heimdall.126/
Hey
have you tried to connect it in Download mode??
Need more solutions
Thanks again to all of you that have answered me so fast.
Well I just finished trying all that you suggested.
unfortunately am still at the same point. Whatever I do, whatever drivers am putting in, cleaning inside the USB port with methylated spirit... Not getting Odin or Kies to detect it.
I read somewhere that when the data connection works, I should see the device named Samsung Device even before installing the drivers, but all I am getting is Unknown device. I still went ahead uninstalling and installing the drivers you provided and there is no successful outcome so far.
I still have faith. I have a little knowledge in electronics. I can open my phone and get to the usb port. My problem is I don't get any tutorial on how to replace the usb port. The thing is the connections are very tiny. I can also do with a bypass way that could make me install a 2nd usb port temporarily just long enough to flash the phone.
Or a hardware solution if I have to remove and flash a specific IC in a certain manner.
Thank you in advance.

Am back to my start point.

Anything Else?
Does anyone have something else to suggest or I should consider my phone dead?
Look like a quite number of people are having this same issue and haven't got over it.
I just hang on and appeal to all of you cos I know XDA is the best place where I can get a solution.
Lemme know any suggestion... even the ones you are not sure can help. Am willing to do anything.
Thanks again all of you.

Galaxy Tab 3 T210R / Bricked?
OK, I know I screwed this up b/c I was tired when I was working on the tablet. It's a Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 T210R (one of several I'm working on). Feel free to say I"m an idiot, I already know it was a stupid mistake.
I reset to factory specs using the operating system after installing the KitKat 4.4.2 firmware update and TWRP. This was that last thing I did before the current status.
Current status is that it won't start, yet Odin registers the tablet as connected, and seemed to be able to reinstall the firmware & TWRP with a positive result.
UPDATE: I was able to connect kies which also seemed to complete a system update, except that the tablet still has a black screen and seemingly unresponsive buttons. This is so weird.
Sooooo, not sure if it's bricked or not, since Odin registers it being connected. However, Kies can't find it. And none of the buttons appear to work.
I have it plugged into the outlet charging at the moment (not the laptop). It was nearly fully charged when I screwed it up.
I have SD cards, and an a couple exact model tablets that work just fine with the new Firmware (4.4.2) and TWRP (2.8.20). Is it possible to clone one of the working ones onto this one?
The one thing I haven't done is try to install a new ROM.
Help? Bricked? Or... ?
Much appreciate any expertise or suggestions. Thanks.

Update 07/07/2015
I let the tablet's battery run down (as was suggested in one of the threads), and when I plugged it in to the AC power, I got the Samsung Galaxy logo!
I was then able to restart in download mode, and reinstall the md5 file via Odin. Not sure why letting the battery run down works, but at this point, I don't really care. I'm glad that the tablet could be resurrected from the dead, in spite of my mistake.
I hope this is helpful! :victory:
tab not showing up in ODIN
I have my galaxy tab soft bricked, but when I plug it in to ODIN, the pc does not recognise the tablet and therefore I can't reinstall the firmware, although the tablet is connected to the pc, as it gets charging when plugged in.
I've tried reinstalling samsung drivers, killing every samsung keys program running in background, another cable and even three different ODIN versions (v.1.7 // v3.07 // v.3.09), but it is not showing up in any version.
I have been looking for a solution since last year. last year I had windows 8 and it didn't work; then I upgraded to win 8.1. again nothing, and with windows 10 the same story. can anyone help me please?
thank you very much.
