Update TWRP to newest version (2.8.2.2). This was a common issue with the previous version(s).
Otherwise, if that's not the problem, what did you do to erase your OS? If you didn't actually erase your OS and are just hung up in TWRP saying that error, you can reboot to bootloader and then reboot system from there. (oops, this was actually a N7 thing come to think of it)
You can always manually reinstall factory OS with RSDLite or Fastboot.
edit: Are you on Lollipop? TWRP has not been updated to work with LP yet, so that may be your problem.

I was trying to fix my google play "no connection error" but it didn't work so i just reset my phone as a last resort to try and fix this problem. It restarted in recovery mode i thought this was just a procedure and i just hit reboot -> system. it rebooted again into recovery mode i checked if there were any wtuck volume rockers but there aren't any help?

TWRP
And telling TWRP to boot system just bring you back into TWRP?
Hmm... sounds like you might need to reflash whatever rom you were on.

This happened to me. I installed custom rom then I went into fastboot and installed stock recovery. I would search in this forum for the stock recovery img file. Once installed, I rebooted and it loaded the rom. I had this problem on the latest twrp version. I installed the previous twrp and I am all good now.

Thank You.
Issue has been resolved. OP is my little cousin who's been messing around a bit too frantically [emoji14]
I restored his device with the unbrick tool by Haris K., all's peachy again. There are still some issues with TWRP for 3T, doesn't run nearly as smooth as on the OPO. It completely failed to restore any working system (both from backup or from reflashing). Sideloading seemingly worked, but rebooted to recovery again, adb push only resulted in errors. Are there any tweaked TWRP releases that can do better?
Cooked with Resurrected bacon!
Hello, I've softbricked a fair amount of phones and tablets in my time but I must admit never had this show up. After flashing Twrp and a dm-verity thingy, I received this shiny new error on my new 1+3t. While I'm assuming it's a straightforward fix such as:
Booting into Twrp and flashing stock 4.x Oxygen os and the stock recovery to bring phone back to where I started.
My question is, can't I just go straight about flashing a rom? I.e freedom rom, or is it advisable to just try start again?
And is me flashing stock os then recovery got to work?
Everything is still stock there is no root. All I have done is:
Code:
fastboot > oemunlock > reboot > fastboot flash Twrp > Twrp boot > Twrp > swiped to Modify > flashed dm-verity.
I did receive a password request first time round but after I rebooted phone it wasn't there again.
Thank you for helping in advance.

You had to flash supersu or Magisk after the process to disable force encryption also make sure your are on the nougat supported twrp 3.0.4-1 or later
You can flash any rom if you have an unlocked bootloader and a working twrp

Thanks for your help im back to a working phone!
For anyone who get stuck!
1) download op3t stock recovery and the oxygen OS from oneplus website
2) boot into fastboot.
3) with your pc get up Adb and:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery stock.img
Fastboot boot stock.img
[\CODE]
4) Once you boot into recovery navigate to install from adb.
5) in cmd again on pc type
[CODE] adb sideload filename.zip
[\CODE]
6) then reboot :). You can leave it here if you want.
So I'm back on stock. With Magisk installed. Only dm-verity still come up which I'm not keen on. But I guess I can live with it. But I'm stuck with a bunch of system apps I can't get rid of? I've tried titanium backup, and link2sd my go to but nothing any ideas? Anyone now how to get rid?

I'm rooted, i've got recovery. Now i'm without OS and nothing work.
It's possible to remove and recreate partitions? i cant flash nougat, cuz partitions like... "recovery" "boot" doesn't exist( in oreo boot.img = ramdisk.img, recovery.img = recovery_ramdisk.img) ehh
Did you try this?
If TWRP works than this should work, too.
When you're on Oreo use Tutorial #2.

I clicked this file, looked like it was supposed to be installed but I knew the phone has been rebooted too fast.. and I was right, after reboot didn't install update from eRecovery, just start twrp and that's all..
You need Update.APP 8.0.0.360 decompile, use 3 img files, boot, system, vendor, and use fastboot commands.
I said, i tried many methods and no one was good. I flash correct .IMG's via fastboot ( by information from cmd of course ). After flash i reboot to recovery( twrp) and I saw, in partition /system takes some GB so i tried to boot normally but still didn't work, 1st information after reboot - "DEVICE IS NOT TRUSTED" or something like that ( cuz bootloader is unlocked ) after few seconds, system should boot, but it's stuck for while on 1st screen like I said, and then did reboot to eRecovery so..
It's possible to damage bootloader as much.. ?
Hi, so i've just installed A1's 8.1 version 9.6.3(security update from 5th of June). Ported with modded TWRP. Looks good with one exception - mobile network keeps disconnecting and connecting back constantly. So basically it makes phone unusable at all.
Any idea how to fix it? May be by flashing specific radio?
PS before i was using 8.1 beta versoin 8.5.11(security update from May) without issues.
SOLVED by flashing modem that comes with original A1 8.1 rom. Video recording isn't working btw. The only thing i found for now
Ok, rolled back to that same 8.1 beta. Mobile network is connecting and disconnecting constantly as well. Now i'm not sure if it was working before since i've used this rom for few hours only and just may be didn't notice it initially. Going back to 8.0 until solution found.

Flashed by fastboot. Booted to recovery straight ahead to port it with a1to5x script. But again, flashing A1's modem fixed the issue for me.

To be honest i have no idea what could be wrong then. I assume are already factory reset to make sure it's a clean installation. Sorry. I'm also just trying everything possible unless i'm not sure i can restore it after failure.
Can you just share the link of firmware you flashed, and the link of script also. Please.

Alright so I successfully flashed Mi A1 8.1 Oreo.
Download the Firmware from Here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76947535&postcount=421
Flash system and all other files manually.
Or else, use this method https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5x/how-to/guide-how-to-install-a1-rom-5x-t3777139
(Remeber to keep all the files in "images" folder.
Install TWRP.
Wipe dalvik and Cache
Go to Advance, terminal run a1to5x
I'm using Aex 5.7 on my MI 5X and my network is constantly dropping. What could be done to fix it? Thank you.
Last OS installed on the device was faulty and didn't boot properly and ran into alot of problems so I tried to install a new OS. Thing is, im not that good with this stuff, so I straight up went to bootloader, wiped everything there was to wipe and tried to flash gapps with the OS. It even may be in bootloop, but im not sure and don't know what that is exactly. I can't even flash a new ROM because the device is encrypted for no reason. ADB sideload didn't work, probably because there is no os on the device or because it wasn't put into developer mode. Some help would be amazing, maybe with just unlocking bootloader. I think i can handle installing OS.

Not sure on encryption but wiping out everything should work.
I installed this ROM and it's working fine apart from couple of bugs.
If you can access TWRP give it a try.

I cannot even wipe everything, somehow it has worked before but now it doesn't. Just says that it can't wipe data and whenever I try to flash something, it can't even confirm the zip or whatever it's doing to it.
