Hey guys, in my country tethering isn't blocked by carriers and every phone comes with the option, but when I tether on my X I can't surf the web because my computer gives me a "proxy error". I know it isn't the carrier because using my sim on my other phones work and have never come across this issue.
I have an XT1097 flashed to 1095 (modem and everything are flashed correctly on my device). Any ideas what that might be?

Curious if anyone actually has this working on T-Mobile with data. For the last couple days I have been trying to get this phone working with T-Mobile. I got the unlock code from Sprint but then found out there was no way to enter it and I had to root. I flashed the wrong rom, so I had to use RUU and flashed 1.29.651.10 and that got me back up and running. I used Sim Unlock Helper and was able to unlock the phone. I am now rooted again and running bad boyz 4.3 5.5.
I select T-Mobile from the available networks and it will connect for a couple minutes but data never works. It shows GSM but it wont connect online. I get an error saying Authentication via the proxy server was unsuccessful.
I also lose signal every couple minutes and have to select T-Mobile again from available networks.

I have the same problem, It will lost connection (signal and data) and won't auto reconnect to the network unless you search for available net work again, been working on it for two weeks. the network is fine when I stay in one place, If I drive anywhere else ,it will lost connection and and you have to search for available network again.. Hope there is a fix for this problem.
It can't work properly. Read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49691363

Hi,
Hopefully someone can help here - I'm assuming its an isolated situation since no one at Verizon (US) or M1 (Singapore) can help me with. I have a HTC One (Verizon) that works perfectly in the states. I am overseas for a few months and confirmed with VZ Global Services that the phone is pre-unlocked so any local carrier will work.
I chose M1...everything on the phone works great, calling / SMS / Internet / Data...etc. However I am given this error anytime I try and turn on the Mobile Hotspot or USB Tethering:
"None VZW UICC present
A Verizon Wireless LTE SIM card is not detected. Mobile Hotspot/Mobile broadband Connect service needs a Verizon SIM card in order to work."
note:: Hotspot works perfectly in the states....
I've spent a lot of time on with VZ Global Services and at the M1 store here. VZ was not helpful, as soon as I admitted to using a SIM that was not theirs, they stopped all support. At M1 store we tried a variety of SIM cards; prepaid, postpaid...etc. None of them fixed the problem. Only suggestion left is to call HTC. So thats why I posted this in the general HTC rather than Verizon specific.
If anyone has any idea how to go about troubleshooting this it would be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
I should add - the phone is stock, not Rooted, APN changed to sunsurf (which is what M1 uses).
I am having the exatct same issue right now. I am in India and I have a prepaid SIM card from Idea and when I try and use the mobile hotspot I get the same error.
When activating the Hotspot function the device does an entitlement check against Verizon's server. Without a Verizon Sim it will automatically fail and not allow hotspot usage. Only way around it is rooting and removing the entitlement check or using a custom non-verizon rom.
i belong to India, i have htc one max,and i have also facing same problem, please tell me any solution if possible
Hi I bought an unlocked, Verizon branded Moto X Developer Edition which I intended to use on Koodo in Canada, which runs on the Telus network. When I put my sim card in it has trouble connecting to the network. It connects for a couple of minutes, and then loses the signal for a couple minutes, then picks it up again and so on. It's like it is connecting to cell towers other than Koodo/Telus and cant use them.
I have tested the sim card in another phone and it is fine. I have spent a significant amount of time with Koodo customer support and it has become obvious the problem is with the phone. It doesn't matter if I have it set to global or LTE/GSM and connect to Koodo that way, both have the same result.
Has anybody run into a similar problem? I absolutely love the phone and would hate to find out that I can't use it. I live in London, Ontario and shouldn't have any issues with coverage.
Thanks
I have The exact same problem with a moto X from ATT trying it on Koodo. Maybe flashing the Telus rom or dev rom on it could work. Mine is in 4.4.4 with ATT so I can't unlock the boot loader to do that but maybe you can...

Have you tried manually entering the APN settings?
The Verizon XT1060 (Dev Edition, or non-Dev Edition) is SIM unlocked out of the box. So forcing to GSM mode should work, as long as the APN settings are right.
As a side note, to use a T-Mobile USA Sim, I've had to manually enter the APN settings on my Dev Ed VZW X.
Hello,
I travel a lot for work from the US to China. In the past, I've utilized wi-fi calling on my LG G4 on Sprint for texts / voice capabilities. Sprint doesn't allow wifi calling in China, but there was an easy work around: I would VPN to a US based location (needed to access anything google), connect to wifi, turn on global roaming and then use a fake GPS locator app set to somewhere in the US. When used in tandem, I was able to to connect to wifi calling just as if I was in the states. I've done this successfully for the past six trips to china over the past year, end of April being the latest.
On my current trip to China, I've been unable to connect using this method. The Wifi calling times out and gives an notification error in the status bar "wifi calling is not allowed in this country". Does anyone know what may have changed in the past two months? I believe Sprint does its locating via Google (one of the main reasons wifi calling doesn't work here) but that shouldn't be an issue if I have VPN access and can utilize the suite of my other Gapps.
Does anyone have any other ideas or settings I can tinker with to try to get this to work? One time I was able to pull up a screen that I've never seen before titled "self service" and it mentioned something about setting 911 location, but I've never had to mess with that in the past. Was there a recent ROM update that I may have downloaded over the past couple of months that would have prevented me from doing what I used to do (I don't remember, but maybe)?
Any help would be much appreciated. I even called Sprint to try to get my texts turned on and they just turn on global roaming and I'll be all set...I did this and that hasn't worked either. When I go to HK, I receive texts and can use data without issue, and can connect to wifi calling (confirmed last weekend).
Thanks!
-Rob
Try also calling sprint they can do a uicc unlock which would allow u to use it in china gsm if im not mistaken
I cant give no help on the wifi calling as im a gsm unlock user my wifi calling has never worked. Always get a invalid sim
Hi All,
I have a Moto G 2014 (titan) and have been using CM for a while. Last month I just moved to USA and joined T-mobile. It was good but expensive. So I switched to a family plan of AT&T last week. However, I can text and call, but could not access internet through AT&T cellular network. Custom services only tried to change SIM card and change APN settings (we tried a lot of APN settings). But none of them works. (Of course it works when you put the SIM card in another phone). So after googling for a while I guess the problem is with the "modem" firmware? I am not sure though, 'cause I am able to set APN. I hope you guys can direct me to the right direction. I was using a version of CM13 last month when I am with T-mobile. It worked fine. I did not do any updates when I switched to AT&T. However I just updated to cm-13.0-20160906-NIGHTLY. The problem persists. BTW it now just shown the signal but no sign of 3G, however, I do not remember if it is suppose to shown that. Does that mean I am not connecting to the 3G network at all?
It would also be real helpful if you can direct me to learning resources of cellular networks and how to troubleshoot such problem. For example, I found myself have no clue of the answer to the following question (excuse me if they are silly questions) and could not find an answer by google,
Is the APN settings related to the type of hardware of firmware that I am using? Does a specific hardware/firmware works in one APN but not another?
Thanks a lot!
Hey guys! I solved the problem by just erase modemst1&2 without install new modem firmware. Could anyone tell me why?
