[Q] How do I relock the bootloader of the XT1092? - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How can I relock my bootloader (XT1092) please? I know how it is done in theory ("fastboot oem lock begin" + flashing the factory image + erasing user data/cache + ending with "fastboot oem lock"), but it just does not work - I am getting a "not signed system error" with the stock firmware for the XT1092 which I grabbed from a link in the xda forums.
Motorola published only the factory image for the XT1095, I know that too. So is this the problem, that the captured firmware (not from the Motorola website) of the XT1092 is not validated for the procedure to relock the bootloader of the XT1092?
Thanks in advance for any tip!

same problem here, Ive tried flashing the lollipop firmware but I couldnt relock. I get this problem
SST lock failure!
Now Im downloading, RETEUALL_XT1092_4.4.4_KXE21.187-42_cid7_CFC.xml.zip
and Ill try with it... no idea...
any help?
it's very important because I need to give the phone back to amazon.
What do you suggest, give it back with unlocked bootloader?
I can put the stock logo bin so they cant see the logo that tells that the phone is unlocked, hoping the man doesnt watch the bootloader screen

[Q] Re-Unlock the Moto G bootloader?

Hi, some time ago I unlocked the titan's bootloader and re locked it, I tried rooting it again but I get Preflash validation, so i guess I need to unlock it again, wich makes no sense since everytime I boot up the warning shows up that the bootloader is unlocked, I have tried Motorola's website for unlocking the bootloader but my phone is ilegible anymore.
What can I do?
Thanks
Never mind, I was neglecting the spaces between the strings of numbers, I have got the unlock key already.

XT1092 Bootloader unable to re-lock. Need to get replacement

Hi, i recently ordered my moto x 2014 32gb from flipkart(just in case this info help). The Model number is XT1092. I did bootloader unlock and flashed cyanogen mod. It is my mistake i didn't backup my factory images. Now i want to return the phone to flipkart. I restored my phone to factory settings using RETEUALL_XT1092_5.0_LXE22.46-19_cid7_CFC.xml image. I then did fastboot oem lock...but it gave me two errors
1. sst failure
2. need to do fastboot oem lock begin.
I did the lock begin command and flashed firmware but it resulted in failure stating PreFlash Verification failure. Please I need to return this phone, I dont want to use it anymore but i need to first lock the bootloader. What should i do.

Does not matter, when you unlocked it was with a code through motorola's website. They know you unlocked it and the warranty is void. Relocking does not give you back your warranty. Plus after relock it is "relocked" not "locked" which is proof that it was unlocked before. There is no way to get it back to a true locked state.

You didn't purchase this device just for playing, did you? Keep in mind that by unlocking bootloader, you voided any warranty as well as your right to return this device, because you modified the system. When handling online returns, the seller usually wants 'unused' device. You could try giving it back though, but keep in mind you ruined a device even if they accept your return.

I recently installed official marshmallow 6.0 on my verizon XT1096 from other variant like xt1092 after unlocking bootloader and now I also getting same error to re lock it. I was irritating by bootloader unlocked warning screen. If anyone knows please tell me also. But anyhow I got rid from that warning screen by installing logo.bin file in fastboot. By following this link.

To be able to relock it, you must be 100% stock. For example you would have to flash back the full 5.1verizon firmware.
But there is no point in locking it. Locking it does not restore the warrany, it was voided when you unlocked it.
Also it does not make the warning bootloader unlocked message disappear. That message will only disappear if you flash a different boot logo.
Honestly, there is not much point to relocking it.

Thanks Sir, I understood the point. But one thing to ask, can I flash back the stock 5.1 factory images of XT 1095 instead of Verizon. By following the factory restore instructions. Actually I want it be 100% pure stock XT1095, just like convert it and get clean OTA of 6.0 stock without any issue.
Because when I was installing 6.0 xt1092 stock on it I got some errors
Like failed check boot & recovery
shown in image below and I am doubtful it is not 100% pure because now when I connect it to my PC it still detect it as xt1096.
I am not rooted or custom recovery.
Please sir little bit more help.

No. It has to be the xt1096 firmware to lock the bootloader.

Return to Stock--various process failures--What worked for me

I wanted to share my experience with working with a T-MO G4 (H81120i) that I had rooted, unlocked the bootloader, and had a custom ROM. My goal was to return it to stock so that I can turn it in(to jump). I tried:
The 2014 LG Flash tool. It failed out multiple times with a "Cannot connect to server" error.
LG Bridge tool which failed multiple times too. The device was not recognized.
LGUP which was reccommended by someone. I have no idea how you would flash or restore wit hthat tool. So, that was a dead end.
So, what worked?
I downloaded the flashable complete zip for the stock t-mo G4(20i) and then left it at that. Its still showing bootloader unlocked on startup so I asm wondering about setting going into fastboot and OEM locking or relocking. The question is...is this last step necessary?

Relock bootloader

Hello,
Some way how to relock bootloader please?
Thank you so much.
In Fastboot the command:
fastboot oem relock UNLOCKCODE
Replace UNLOCKCODE with your unlock code you got from Huawei.
Does this result in a low-level-reset similar to the unlock-procedure?
I'm really not sure but I mean my P10 didn't format when I did the relock, but I really don't know anymore.
If I try this method to relock it again, will I be able to unlock it again?
I want to tray this, because my OEM unlock option is now greyed out and I canĀ“t flash anything, not even the custom recovery.
Does relock wipe the data and factory resets the phone? I just unbricked mine today from soft-bricked and never want to experience that again, back on stock and want to relock the bootloader just to get the android pay and bank apps working but would like to avoid wipe if possible
Yes, relocking the bootloader will end up with a low-level factory reset (same as unlocking).

HWOTA update method final locked your bootloader and status "locked" not relocked, and no low level format, your data pic, video, download, music no delete!
Ok, good to know.
I just tried the oem relock.
Hey all, i did the "fastboot oem relock" followed by my unlock code i got from the Huawei website but after i hit enter it gave me:
FAILED (remote: root type is risk)
finished. total time: 0.016s
could anyone tell me why this has happened?
I have a vtr-l09. Thanks
