[Q] Camera shutting down phone - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello.
I have a problem with my camera in my Note.
Using custom ROM - ParanoidAndroid 4.6 and when I want to take a picture the phone turn off, nothing can be done - only helps to remove the battery. I noticed that this happens only when I use the flesh - without doing normal - This applies to the original AOSP camera.
I also tried with google camer from Playstore, but it is also the same - including even have a problem with the recording, because the image is freezing.
Can someone help me?
ps. I'm sorry for my english, is really weak I hope, everything is clear and understandable.

Must be a bug or something..............
Try flashing stock Gingerbread 2.3.5 prerooted + cwm, with PC Odin
1. Download this http://d-h.st/HJM
2. Flash with PC Odin (Add via PDA button and make sure ONLY Auto reboot is checked)
3. Wait till completed
4. Boot into recovery (Which will now be CWM)
5. Do a factory reset and wipe cache and dalvik cache
6. Enjoy and Please smash my thanks button
Read thread carefully next time and make sure users are not having problems with rom.

dafuq did i just read
i don't get it. could you please explain a bit more?
like which rom did you flash, errors detail, etc.
get into recovery if you can and do a wipe data - factory reset, maybe could that help you, if doesn`t, pull up battery, get it into download mode again (volum down & home button & power button) then try reflash another rom
ah sry.. ok i managed to turn it on after an hour and half.....
i used simplisity plus this new rom,,and with broodromconf tried install new theme. and after resetart phone enterd bootloop,so i tryed reflash it wih odin KQ1 stock rom. but after stock rom was installed there wehere a lot of application error like "sorry! google.android.sms stoped working or google.upload stoped working" and coud not press any key or anything so i remove battery and after that, phone did not want to turn on,,,,ok i now i can turn it but i am getting this errors so what to do.
You should do exactly as chasemyass said. that should fix your problem.
maybe some content of broodrom configurator doesn't fit with Simplistic Plus. Just be more careful.
btw, clear dalvik cache first if you going to flash new rom.
requires dedoex and zipal...think simplistic plus have that...put that a side. i turn it on . flash feamod recovery and did factory reset and looks like it works now.. thx guys...
I can never fully guarantee that broodROM Configurator is compatible with all ROMS. Since it's actually made for broodROM it includes a method of installing the files as it would work on broodROM. Cranium & Stock ROM works tho.
and just format all partitions then reflash with odin and you will be fine
Rule #1 on using the configurator: ALWAYS MAKE A CWM BACKUP!

I flashed a new rom, but it shows only the Droid!

HI guys, I've downloaded TiramiSlim Final V. 2.0 Rom , and I've followed all steps and reboot , but it shows only the Android Logo and the word "powered by Semaphore" so what 2 do ?

First thing I would do is use three button combo (hold power, volume up and home button till you see I9000 screen) to see if you have CWM recovery. If you do I will need to know what you were flashing from (rom & kernel previous to the flash you got stuck on. If you don't have recovery (please try a few times as it is tricky for some people) try try three button combo with volume down button instead of up to get into download mode so you can flash with Odin on a PC. You can search on you tube for a guide or I'll check in on this thread again to see how your doing and what your previous rom and kernel were.
hey
do you have anyother rom in your SD card??other than the one u just flashed??
Can u enter to CWM??
Try that by:
1.Remove the battery and then re-insert it
2.Hold the Volume Up+Home(Center) Button+Power button TILL your phone boots i.e;Till you see "Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000"..
If u cant, there is another way to recover your SGS...but conform that first...
thank u for trying 2 help me, yes I've a working CWR and I solved the problem, yet I'll back to stock 2.3.3(since Samsung dumped our region and we r the only how haven't got the value pack ).
I did made some many threads here and on other websites asking for a stable ICS and I've try them all but for nothing , so plz check if their any thing wrong in what I do in flashing a new Rom:
1- wipe data + cash
2- wipe devlak cash +battery state
3- go to storage and format every thing but SD card
4-flash the rom
5-sing in in my Google account than backup my contacts
6- open file manger then downloading MyBackUp Pro and restore my App's
7- sing in my FB, twitter, instgram,whatsapp,viber...
8-sync my FB contacts
9- charge my phone fully then apply battery Calibration
10- start using my phone
while after stable using(less than 24H),the notification that tells u have a low memory showed up ,also while after that FB and twitter start to force close ,than the Google Apps such Gmail & Gtalk(I even haven't use Gtalk in my life) than I got the message :the process com.google.gapps ..... force close ,also the process include the word (media) ,I turned off the phone and restart it , the phone is stack at logo, thats my story with every ICS Rom I tried

JUST FOLLOW THESE STEPS:
(If ur on 2.3.6 Rooted)
1.download the rom and place it in ur phones SD card,
2.wipe data, then cache mem,AND if required Dalvik cache,
3.instal ZIP form SD Card>chose the zip file and click yes,
4.after flashing the rom and addons, reboot,
Wait for sumtime and finish the setup procedure...
then flash ONLY a few software which are imp to ur use
then keep the phone like that for a few days and then install ur apps...

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S I9000 - rooting, resolving lag and Jelly Bean

Hi,
Grateful for assistance in:
a. Rooting my phone using Odin. Official ROM on phone is I9000XXJW4 (Gingerbread 2.3.6). Which kernel should I use to root the phone and is there a guide available?
b. On completing a. above is there a OCLF solution for fixing the lag problem and a guide for doing this? I understand the pay OCLF app on Google Play does not work and now does not contain the option to root the phone.
c. I have read with interest the option to flash a custom Jelly Bean ROM. Which custom Jelly Bean ROM is the best and most stable to flash? A guide would also be useful please. Is there a lag problem with custom Jelly Bean ROMs on the I9000? If so, I would be happy to stick with my official ROM if the lag problem can be resolved.
Apologies for all the questions but advice and assistance would be gratefully received. Many thanks.
you're already on JW4 so,
download the attached zip.
install the usb drivers ( can google for them easily, or install kies, then uninstall kies but not the drivers it installs. )
download odin if you haven't already ( guessing you have though )
extract the zip you downloaded
launch odin, click PDA, then navigate to where you extracted the zip, and select the tar file it contained.
boot phone in download mode ( turn off, hold volume down, home, and power keys until it boots to download mode, yellow triangle on screen )
connect phone via usb
once odin recognises the phone ( rectangular box below first square box will turn yellow when recognised ), click start to flash the file
phone will automatically reboot once the flash is successful.
phone is now rooted and has cwm installed.
after that, just pick the rom you want to install, download it and the relevant gapps file ( make sure its the right one. 4.2 gapps don't work right with 4.1.2, keyboard tends to crash ), and copy them to your internal sd on the phone.
reboot to recovery ( turn off, hold volume up, home, and power until it boots into recovery )
use volume keys to navigate in recover, home key to select, perform factory reset in recovery, wipe data, wipe cache, go into advanced and wipe dalvik cache, then return to main recovery menu, flash the zip containing your selected rom, followed by the relevant gapps zip.
reboot.
done, setup phone.
as for the oclf thing, can't help you, only had my own galaxy S for a day, so idk about that.
as for jb and lag, i haven't noticed it with the rom i'm running ( details in my sig ), and it seems pretty stable to me, although i can't give comparisons to other jb roms as i haven't experimented with them, due to intending from prior to purchase to run paranoidandroid anyway.

[Q] Dead? Blackscreen without logo N7000 4.0.3

Hi,
I'm a newbie who has a Galaxy Note N7000, 4.0.3 with kernal LQ3.
I wanted to root and install a new room.
I downloaded "PhilZ-cwm6-XXLQ3-OXX-v3.99" and successfully installed it via my microSD-card.
Without booting my phone I by mistake installed "gapps-jb-20130301-signed" and it worked flawless as well, so I thought why not try install the ROM directly as well - without rebooting the phone hence I started the installation of "JellyBeer-v4.32-29062013-101059-n7000". This was made without choosing "wipe data/cache".
Everything seemed to work fine, and it was in the stage "installing".
Without noticing the screen turned black and I got panic and after 20 sec I removed the battery. Now the phone doesn't react on either the power button or recover mode. The screen just continues to stay black. Can see any indication once connected to the charger either....
Can you please help me with advises?
Can you enter the download mode (vol down + home + power). If you can, download one of the stock ROMs from sammobile.com and flash using PC ODIN. This should take you back to the stock ROM after which u can again root using the Philz kernel. And before flashing, please read the instructions carefully. You have to flash the ROM first after a data/cache wipe and then gapps (if needed).
Hi,
It dosen't seem to react to the download mode....
Is it possible to do something by entering the phone's hardware? Remove battery - for cache restore or similar?

i think you should flash TWRP or clockworkmod, make a backup of your files also the present rom,
After that, flash with a new rom like Cyanogenmod 10.2 from Maclaw and revert with the difference, maybe the problem will be fixed..

You can search on Youtube for tutorials.

Hey Brother,
Very Welcome, yes i've seen the videos, try to mount the internal sdcard with android recovery and copy the twrp recovery, or use another phone and copy the twrp file onto external SD Card, there's an option on recovery called update.zip flash with it,
if there's no change at all, try to flash it with ODIN.. if it don't recognize due to absence of USB Debugging, there's a tool called Samsung GS3 Mini ToolKit. maybe can help you. if not try with samsung KIES .. if also nothing helped you at this point, search around the internet for your problem, maybe you can find some useful help..
Cordially, I.R.

actually its really simple to solve this problem...
1 - download and install the samsung drivers from here (http://get.maclaw.pl/?id=61)
2 - download odin here and install it.
3 - reboot your pc (this is the easy way to kill all kies processes and unwanted things) and make shure that kies dont start with windows.(if you have it installed)
4 - download this http://get.maclaw.pl/?id=301 (its the maclaw cm 4.4.2 for odin with the recovery twrp)
5 - flash the phone with odin(FOR THIS YOU NEED TO BOOT THE PHONE IN DOWNLOAD MODE, just boot the phone pressing POWER+VOLUME DOWN AND THE HOME BUTTON until a triangle and a warning appears follow maclaws guide -> http://maclaw.pl/installation-guide-golden/)... as soon as the flash finishes you'll be trapped in a boot loop (missing GAPPS)
just try to boot it the system should crash dont worry you're on the good way.
5.2 - remove the battery and put it back in (now you phone should be off)
6 - reboot on the new recovery that comes with the maclaw Rom you've just flashed for that you need to press POWER + VOLUME UP AND HOME BUTTON and mount you SD CARD.(you phone sould appear on you pc as a storage device or something like that)
7 - download this GAPPS here(http://get.maclaw.pl/?id=164)
8 - copy the downloaded GAPPS to you phone.
9 - go back to the 1st menu of the TWRP (a.k.a recovery) and you should see a thing saying install zip or flash zip (something like that)
9.2 - select the Gapps you've downloaded and flash it.
9.3 - after the flash finish select reboot system
9.4 - phone should start installing updates after the reboot
10 - wait until it finishes and the problem should be solved. now you can go back to the stock rom or stay with this rom.
the problem here is there's an app causing that problem. i had the same problem a few months ago.
the phone whould just crash or not function at all, rebooting all the time or from time to time...(it was one of the games i've installed from market)
after the phone is working dont install apps from unknow developers. even if it is from the market (believe wen i say you can get apps from the market that makes you're phone to malfunction).
