Whenever I try and take a picture / video / whatever with the camera of my Xda lli thing, it gives me a message saying:

Everything is standard -- I've not changed any ROMs or anything. I got this once before, and I did a hard reset, which I think sorted it... but it's started again.
Any ideas what's causing this. Oh -- I'm not out of memory, by the way; forgot to mention that. Thanks in advance.
Bought a bigger SD-card?
I'm currently running CyanogenMod and I noticed that after I unplug my phone from charging, it keeps the orange LED light on still. I've been searching through the settings, and I can't figure out how to get it to stop (unless I reboot, but that's obviously a little too much to have to do to shut off the LED), so can anyone tell me how I can stop this?

Whenever you get the chance is good
btw, are there any other problems the you've got fixes for? That way if I run into anything that's already fixed I wont have to go looking for it.

I got my Galaxy tab yesterday and, incidentally, I'm TOTALLY loving it!!!! Anyway, I rooted it (using z4root) so that I could use Titanium backup and regularly backup my apps/data.
I didn't try recording video before I rooted, so I don't know if rooting has caused the problem, but it's been suggested that it may have done.
Basically, when I start to record video I get about 5 seconds and the app force closes. I don't have any problem taking pictures - just video.
Has anyone come across this issue or know of anything that may explain or (preferably) help solve it??
It's not the end of the world if I can never use it to record video, but I'd like to be able to if possible.
Thanks guys.
Edit: Problem solved! See this post for the answer

Hi, firstly congrats on your new Galaxy Tab, welcome here
I have never faced these problems on a stock unrooted ROM (which i am on) and have never rooted my TAB before. Perhaps try flashing a different ROM and see how it goes. Or since your TAB is fairly new and has few customizations you may want to try a master clear?
Cheers
Thanks for the congrats. It's a BEAST and I love it
I did do a hard reset, but I was dubious as to whether or not it had actually done a hard reset as it seemed to retain some of my settings. It didn't solve my problem, either way.
I don't want to go down the custom ROM route for now as I'm happy with the stock ROM (after replacing the launcher with Launcher Pro).
I know it's a clutch at straws, but I'm hoping that someone knows of a fix for this problem. If someone can tell me how to do a 100% factory reset then I'd happily give it a go, but the method I used was not successful (power off and then hold volume up and power on - follow the menu to factory reset).
Hi, do you (try to) record to your GT SSD or to SD card?
I had the same problem first due to a very bad class 2 microSD card.
Video recording crashing, but only after 2 to 5 seconds recording.
Formating it didn't fix the problem, replacing it did. Maybe a hint.
Also try to switch to standard quality, no audio settings.
And try another free video capture app.

yeh it's awesome!
I think you could refer to the user manual it nay teach you how to hard reset? i don't know how to do that either :S
Or like the above member stated, the memory card may be an issue... what memory card are you on? i'm on the default Samsung 16GB (Class 6)? card - no issues here.

Full Reset :
*2767*3855# - from the dialer
no issue here = micro sd 16GB cass 2
try to use OneClickRoot - for MAC or SuperOneClickv1.7-ShortFuse for Windows next time ! works for me better!
Thanks for the comments and suggestions guys, and thanks for the alternative method of factory resetting, ovigt71.
Unfortunately, I was still rooted after doing that. Seems strange that the rooting is persisting after a factory reset, but that's what's happening!
Anyway, unless someone comes up with a brainwave I'm just gonna live with the fact that I can't record video. It's not a major biggie as I have a HD2 which has a better camera anyway, so I'll always use that. I just like everything to work the way it should.

...hm...most probably you got a wrong version of Z4 root....but, in my personal opinion, better reflash with PIT file the firmware (if you like using the stock, then you root with SuperOneClickv1.7-ShortFuse and everything should go back to normal. or better you follow the guide and install Overcome, which is already prerooted! hope it help!

Nah, I'm gonna stick with the stock ROM for now. It's only a few days old so I'm not interested in flashing anything to it. And I got z4root off here ages ago. It's sitting on Dropbox with a bunch of other apk files that I use on new devices (I was changing ROMs on my HD2 at an alarming rate at one point!)
Thanks for the help.

mate, if i were you, you might as well get the problem sorted now, before it's too late. You may aswell try unrooting it if you can, test if the video works. if it doesn't take it back to your retailer, tell them your problem, and the may replace your TAB with a new one. You may aswell get it done early rather than waiting a while and they won't do anything for you ad suspect it was self invoked. I personally do not face any problems but as i say i have a unrooted tab + stock 16gb sd card and it works fine.
good luck, hope u get it sorted.

[email protected] is correct! as long as you have the Tab under warranty you should try to make it work.....until is not yo late!
Yeah, that's good advice, and probably what I'd say to someone in my position. I'll get in touch with Orange and take it from there.
Cheers guys.
Problem solved!!!
There was nothing wrong. Rooting hadn't caused the problem, and there's nothing wrong with the tab (thankfully). I'd set the lcd density to 180 because I like to have lots of small icons, rather than just a few big ones. As soon as I restored my backup of build.prop I could record video.
Seems the cam app doesn't like different lcd density settings.
I can live with that - at least it's not the tab.
Edit: In case anyone finds this and wonders, I just set the lcd density to 200 and video recording still works. Things aren't that much bigger than at 180, so I can live with that.
Edit: It works at 190. I've not tried the other 9 values between 180 and 190 though. 190 looks great

thanks for pointing out the settings glad you got your 'problem' foxed, now you can enjoy the full power of the Galaxy TAB !!
P.S - were your video settings set to saving to the SD cad or internal memory?
At least one person has reported that the camera works at 182 and above, so that might be the number to shoot for if you want to continue.
@johncmolyneux
thanks for the tip! I'm using density at 200....I wasn't think about that! LOL good to know!

I've tried both, and it makes no difference. This was definitely down to the LCD density setting.

Hi I have been using my HTC dream on Cymod 6.1 since long and never had this kind of problem b4.
1. Camera is blank or get error "activity camera (in application camera) is not responding"
2. Battery is draining fast.
3. Battery feels heated up when charging
i have tried flashing the rom again many times, did memory wipe , factory restore, and even tried to delete the camera.apk from terminal app but still have the same issue. Please Please someone help.
This happened to me too with my old G1
The problem was a loose/broken camera cable.
Its very difficult to connect the camera cable though...
The battery...hmmm well...
actually the camera cable could be causing a short somewhere?
I don't know. What I would do is open up and take a look inside
Careful though
Also, you can try some things for a better diagnostic:
1. Try to use anoter rom, and check if the problem persists
2. Check the battery stats in phone's adjust and see what consums so many battery
3. Use an alternate kernel
4. Try to use the original firmware, it's supposed to work at 100% and not to harm/malfunction your device
5. Another Radio/SPL combo
If all them fail and always you're facing the same problem, then it's not a software trouble, it's a hardware one.
I wouldn't be an bad idea to dissconect the camera cable from your G1 motherboard and see if something rare happens with the battery life.
And remember if your phone suffered a fall or something that could move things inside of it, if it happened maybe it's only a ill post wire inside your phone waiting to be repaired.
thanks for the suggestions, however when i am on rc29 camera works however it doesn't allow me to capture any picture, only the green light keeps blinking when i try to capture any picture.
But another thing i found when i am on updated firmware is that camera application size is 0, under application info, so i assume there is sum thing wrong with camera application and how would i re install the camera application if i want to, i have already tried everything from scratch and installing Rom but didn't succeed. If i m on cynegon mode 6 can i manually install the camera, Can someone please tell me the steps ?

Open the rom zip file with winrar and go to /system/app and copy camera.apk to your sd card
Get a file browser on the phone and click camera.apk and install it
But really it sounds like a hardware problem

Try to do a fastboot wipe and install a new rom...and if it still doesn't work, something is seriously wrong with the phone
anyway ...... I bricked my G1 somehow , so dont know what to say now

Give some detail
Does the G1 screen show? If not, then yes its a brick...
If it shows, then try to get into fastboot

well sorry to say but in my experience the only way to fix it is with jtag. not too many people out there do this do it will probably be hard to find someone willing to and not charge an arm and a leg for it. if you want to try yourself you need to buy special jtag equipment and learn a lot about it! but hey i plan to learn some day and im sure you could too. but for now id recommend buying a new phone or mother board...
Started today. My phone drops call during screen timeout process. I take/make a call screen goes dark, which is fine. But If i move or take phone away from ear that results in screen turning back on, the call drops. I called fi and theyre just sending a new sim. It does the same thing when using hangouts to make wifi calls , with sim out. So i dont think its the network.
Update:
I called google, where I got my nexus 6. He told me to go into safe mode. The problem did not exist while in safe mode. He said if problem does not exist on safe mode than its an app causing the issue. Now what?
Plz help or point in a good direction. THX

Thanks alot. I appreciate you replying. I grabbed one of those log apps in the link. Just to see what my log would look like. I went to the bottom of log to see the calls I made and saw that "spy fi" app was very active. I deleted "spy fi" and my phone seems normal again. Now if i have unknown issues I know where to start. Again Thanks a lot

Logs are still the key. It's the only way to find a commonality. Personally, for a challenge like this, I prefer to use "adb logcat > output.file". It's easier for me to find errors and filter based on app on a pc.
