Cannot mount internal storage - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a problem with my sgs+ after trying to flash CM12 from adc. somehow i missed one of the wipe steps and the phone got soft bricked i believe. I could not find a solution apart from flashing an official firmware with odin cause nothing else was responding because of the following error:
THIS IS AN IMAGE BUT I CANT POST IT CUZ I dont have enough posts h t t p://i 6 2.t i n y p i c.c o m/2 8 a 2 6 x k . j p g
However when i used the official recovery somehow it mounted the sdcard. Because of my lack of experience in this domain i request your help if you are benevolent. Now i am unable of flashing a custom rom and the official 2.3.6 looks miserable.
First who reads this please post that photo as a reply so others can see it.
Strangely enough Root checker says the device is rooted but TWRP says it is not. It was rooted the same way before and TWRP worked.

I found out that there's a problem with custom recoveries. the original recovery is able to mount the storage whilst TWRP or CWM show only an empty folder called TWRP

[Q] Galaxy Ace GT-S5830D Root and ClockWork Recovery Help

Hey there! I am like the biggest noob on XDA, but i really need help. I have rooted my Galaxy Ace GT-S5830D (File Provided if anyone is in need of it) and now I need help with getting ClockWork Recovery to work on it. I will also attach the .zip file that I used. I get a Status 7 Error.
I have done a lot of research on this topic, and found out that Status 7 Errors are because the recovery i was trying to flash is not 'compatible' with my S5830D. So this is where I need help. I need to find out what ClockWork Recovery I should use for my Galaxy Ace Gt-S5830D.
* Phone Info:
My phone is the : Galaxy Ace GT-S5830D
Android Version: 2.3.4
Phone Carrier: Koodo (My phone is unlocked though)
Region: Canada
Other Info: I had my phone previously rooted, and flashed ClockWork Recovery that was modified by my friend so I dont get Status 7 Errors. But I would keep getting messages like "Cant Open (file name)" or "Cant Mount (file name)" when i booted into recovery. I thought that was normal, and tried to flash a Custom Rom ( also modified by my friend), I dont really remember what it was called maybe like PAC or something. And so I bricked my phone.... Then recovered it by ODIN.
** What I am trying to achieve is to flash a custom ROM on my phone, because I dont really like the GingerBRead feel. I love the Ice Cream Sandwich feel. I have used launchers, such as Go Launcher, ADW Launcher, Holo Launcher, but they slow down my phone so much im getting really annoyed.
Any help is appreciated.

Status 7 Error Help!
Thanks for the quick reply! The problem is, this CWM file you gave me is exactly the same as I used. I got a Status 7 Error.
As stated before, I had CWM on my phone before. I achieved it by my friend modifying it.
Status 7 Errors occur because of whatever you are trying to flash goes through this process to check the phone's model or something.
This YouTube Titled: How To Fix Status 7 Error with CWM Recovery on Rooted Android!
The problem that occurred after my friend modifying the file was that, i get messages like "Cant Open (some file directory)" or Cant Mount (some file directory)".
Thanks for the help. But I need a fix for my phone, remember it isn't just the Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 but there is a D at the end. Hope someone can reply and help me.

well. I'm gonna explain my post... I think your SD-CARD is corrupted and your attached files too so format YOUR SD-CARD, NOT YOUR PHONE!! then download the files in the link I posted at first and try again!
Use an USB sd-card reader in order to format your sdcard
Right?
Is it worth it??

I'm glad!
Well to ask for the best rom or similar questions is NOT allowed in xda forums, you can try the last Mardon's built, but CM roms are worse than stock's rom (in my opinion), STOCK=STABLE=LONG BATTERY LIFE=NO RAMDOM REBOOTS=NO PROBLEMS AT ALL, so you need to decide how do you use your phone and how would you like to use it.
If I'm not wrong D model is the same as 5830 model so no problem if you flash whatever 5830 custom rom, the only could be the modem band, you could face problems with it.
Have a look at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1225493

Go to the root kitkat thread. Or the firmware thread. Grab the Odin files for the 4.3 ota. Flash all of them except the bootloader tar. Then just wait. Don't pull battery or anything else.if you see the at&t logo keep waiting. When it fully boots, continue with kitkat upgrade and root. Be sure to grab my upgraded kk Ota from the last few pages of the kk root thread . Also make sure to look at my backup process so you'll be able to make and use backups. Oh and thank the other 43 people for not even bothering to help. I'll check back and see how things see going.

Just flash it in safestrap as the KK update. Read the root kitkat thread again if you need a refresher on anything. Make sure you do not wipe cache/dalvik when installing the zip. Just reboot recovery and install the zip.As for the custom rom I would say because of locked bootloader. This is my first galaxy,I'm an HTC guy normally. Now that I think about it. Once your on KK safestrap cant mount the system.I found a work around using the pawned kernel, that is also in my backup thread.

Follow the exact steps I laid out above. If you went step by step following my instructions, then following the root instructions everything should be fine. Once you get 4.4 back up dont play around with it until you make a backup.

htc 626g+ "no command" while booting
hello there,
I have rooted my htc with king root (mobile version) worked fine until i updated via ota. when i try to install the update by reboot the boodh comes.."no command" i have tried clearing cache and wiping data and have read most forums about abd and stuff like thatin internet, cant understand as much to implement them.I dont know what zip file to send via abd prompt as those forums are telling.can't find a ruu for this device not even cyanogen mods fo this (to give it a try)
some one please help me..
In general, I don't believe running an OTA update while rooted is a good practice.

I tried but On the Installation Screen its shows Error "No Partition selected"
when there was no partition was displaying like

so do you have any idea?
or which CWM Version you were using?
There are very good instructions how to do it in Facebook thread.
Just search for user "HTC Desire 626G+ Development".
I've checked it today and there is new message:
DONT USE THIS GUIDE. NEW MORE RELIABLE AND PROPER STOCK BACKUP IS COMING WHICH WILL RISE DEAD DEVICE TO LIVE.

How To Flash MetroPCS MM 6.0.1 Official ROM Without PC (already rooted 626s only)

So my computer bit the dust about two months ago so i found myself in a situation where yes, I had a PC back when i unlocked the bootloader, ran ADB fastboot commands and flashed the twrp recovery.img . But now, I have no access to computers whatsoever. So heres what I did:
Downloaded - Str8upx's TWRP backup found here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67914526&postcount=43
Nightbreed813s flashable MM rom for Sprint Phones found here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/des...m-flashable-stock-htc-626s-debloated-t3293602
After downloading the files, I extracted the TWRP backup from the .zip file, navigate with a file explorer past the folder with a Serial Number on it, copied the backup folder that comes next, moved it to my external sd cards TWRP backup folder .
Then I booted into TWRP, after backing up my current ROM, wiped everything and then flashed the sprint ROM
after that, I restored ONLY the System portion of Str8upx's backup. (this means i didn't flash the system image either, ONLY SYSTEM)
Rebooted phone and I was done. Still had SuperSU, but had to install busybox.
I'd like to note that from this point on everything works without any problems and I'm on the official Metro MM. The red letters show up every time I boot the phone now, instead of only when i boot into TWRP like it used to so please be aware of that. Also, my baseband and kernel appear to be different than the ones in Metro MM. I do intend on updating once somebody makes a TWRP flashable version of MM. But until then, i'll stay on this as my daily driver as again, everything does work. I figured I'd share what I learned and maybe we will see less threads about " i tried to install MM on my rooted 626s and it failed " feel free to ask any questions if there are any. All thanks goes to Nightbreed813 and Str8upx for uploading the files. If you have a second and you use these files, Click thanks on the linked posts to thank them.
I need to make all aware that wifi isn't going to work with this method. So if you plan on using wifi, you're gonna have to flash the ruu. Full disclosure I no longer stand behind this due to lack of wifi. I went ahead and flashed with the RUU and fastboot flashed twrp back. This solution was only a temporary fix for me. As it should be for anybody if its used at all

As far as which sprint ROM you flash debloated version or regular it doesn't really matter, since once you restore the twrp backup you're going to be on the standard non debloated metro official MM. As far as UI differences, there's a few things here and there. Nothing mind blowing. What was advantageous for me is the expanded internal storage. I love it.
I tried installing with the RUU and always got error 155 all the time some I am trying this method out. I would like to know will this method still work on a phone with exposed binary, and for those with MetroPCS, does the service still work as well.
Hello I tried doing everything as followed installed the sprint now after every call or just randomly i get "SIM card has been inserted" "Select a carrier" which T-mobile is the only one to work. Then after a call and again randomly i get this message again and have to repeat the process. Does anyone know why and how can I fix this?

In my instructions you don't stay on the sprint rom. You're supposed to restore the backup after installing that rom. But I need to make all aware that wifi isn't going to work with this method. So if you plan on using wifi, you're gonna have to re lock your bootloader and flash the ruu

Here is something you can solve if you have pro knowledge of rooting.

Here is something you can solve if you have pro knowledge of rooting.
Condition:-
The usb port of device cannot transfer data and it cannot be repaired.
The bootloader of device is unlocked.
Situation:-
Once the device had a KitKat based ROM named PAC-MAN. Owner loves the ROM and the data soo much that he don't want to loose that hence he took a backup of this ROM and data from CWM recovery.
After a week, The official ROM of marshmallow was flashed from recovery. Got 5-6 continues updates of security patches and finally the device was on Android 6.0.1. Now when he wanted to roll back, he found the old recovery (CWM) was replaced by the stock marshmallow recovery.(due to security patches updates sent to devices.
Mission:-
The Owner wants to rollback to the same kitkat based backuped wih (CWM)
Device Name:- Micromax android one (first-gen) aq4501 sprout 4

Now when he wanted to roll back, he found the old recovery (CWM) was replaced by the stock marshmallow recovery.(due to security patches updates sent to devices.
Mission:-
The Owner wants to rollback to the same kitkat based backuped wih (CWM)
Device Name:- Micromax android one (first-gen) aq4501 sprout 4

Hmmm, yeah, the stock MM recovery replaced the cwm.
If he still had the backup then you need to flash the recovery via fastboot mode and restore it. But, eversince the usb port isnt working then its impossible. btw, how did he charge his phone, if the port isnt working?

In case phone port damaged , battery can be charged by taking it out of mobile and charge with two-pin charger plugged in electrical socket (in india it is called "Daddu Charger")

dude he said that data on the port isnt working jesus please read what the person has said before reading other comments
okay so heres the thing i think in theory it should be possible to manually rewrite the recovery using terminal (if youre desperate)
also did you try flashify?or those other gimmiks that can flash your phone as long as it has root?

Only Data Transfer is not Working. Charging is working Fine. And Yes I got the Solution
Here is The Answer
So, I tried in many Forums, Facebook Groups but nobody had the Answer.:crying:
Fortunately, After Thinking a lot, While i was pooping (The time when great ideas Evolve), I got a Brilliant idea of Solving the Case.
So here is What i thought.
I have a friend with the Exact Same Model. @chitu98
I thought to replace The Whole Bottom Chipset (which includes speakers, Charging pin and many more Hardware Parts) with the friends' Device's Chip Just for flashing time. After I flash my Recovery Back Using His Chip (Bottom Chipset), I return His Device and Yeah I Successfully Accomplished my Mission and Achieved My target
