I recently flashed another ROM onto my N6 and lost the APNs for AT&T. Does anyone have the info for them, specifically the one titled nxtgenphone? Thanks all.

It will work for anyone using a Nexus 6. This APN is for phones that support VoLTE. It should work with most smart phones released after the Galaxy S4. I don't know what phone you're using so...
Most of AOSP roms don't have the nxtgenphone APN for ATT. Though the regular "phone" APN seems working fine. I am not sure nxtgenphone APN is supposed to be fast data besides VoLte stuff...
I'm not sure. Ive been meaning to do some speed tests but I do like the call quality of voLTE with other people on AT&T, so I always change it.
So what APNs are you all keeping on the phone? Which one do you have selected? Thanks!

I can't comfirm it on the ROM I'm running.... but I think if you remove the fota in the apn type line above, it might disable OTA updates (FirmwareOverTheAir=fota), if that's important... :silly:

I have an unlocked Bell Atrix HD and I'm using it with the NET10 AT&T SIM. I followed the NET10 APN setting instructions and it told me to use the following:
Name: net10
APN: att.mvno
Proxy: proxy.mvno.tracfone.com
Port: 80
MMSC: mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: 66.209.11.33
MMS Port: 80
I tried those settings and had no internet and no MMS. I removed the proxy and MMS proxy. I also tried removing the port for internet and MMS. Neither combination worked. I double checked my phone was unlocked by doing volume down + power and it says 'unlocked' on a black screen with white letters. I start trying all types of settings until I gave the T-Mobile APN a try (wap.tracfone). Internet worked immediately. MMS still doesn't work. I tried the T-Mobile and AT&T MMS settings with no luck. I did a speed test while tethering and it says AT&T Wireless Network Services so I know the SIM is for AT&T, plus the APN settings default to AT&T if I do restore default settings. I'm confused why the only APN that works is the T-Mobile 'wap.tracfone' one.
Anyone have good knowledge about this who is able to help me out?

Try taking your first proxy setting out (leave blank the one just under "APN") leave your MMS proxy as-is,
MMSC Should be http://mmsc.Cingular.com (type in the http:// that you left out)
For "MCC" use 310
For "MNC" use 410
See if that works for you

Have you guys set the APN type. My atrix HD wasn't getting data until I set it to the same as the stock att one except for DUN. After doing that and a reboot. It worked flawlessly.
note: the speed test app will not work for some reason. Only upload will register. If u want to run a speed test install flash for JB and go to speedtest.net.

I've seen some AT&T customers complain about terrible speeds and latency when doing speed tests. I too had this issue. Before the fix, I was getting about 20 kbps downstream and 400+ latency. After, I'm getting 6+ mbps and 80-120 latency. I fixed mine by adding a new APN with these settings. To change them, go to SETTINGS -> MORE... -> MOBILE NETWORKS -> ACCESS POINT NAMES. From here, either select the existing one or click the menu key to create a new one. Also, if you create a new one, make sure to select it after you're done making it. (you have to tap the radio to select it because tapping the name will edit it but NOT select it).
The blank ones are blank/unspecified. You probably only need to change APN and APN type (the other shown values were already like this on mine). For APN type, those are commas separating the terms. I posted a link to 3 shared screenshots so you can see what it should look like.

Thanks..I honestly didn't think there was a difference between the LTE and non-LTE plans at AT&T. But my dad is in charge of the plan, so maybe I am missing something.
I'm using the same Stock AT&T PTA apn I've used since the Infuse 4g and it works perfect. Stock APN I couldn't even get 20kbps most of the time. Now I can at least get 5.7 (about what I'm used to in my area).

I'm using the pta APN since I came from an LTE phone so my sim is provisioned for it. I usually got about 8-9mbps down in this location when on my sgs3 so if these speeds stick and improve I'm quite happy. Obviously uploads are the biggest hit but not too worried about that

It wouldn't work for me with the default WAP.Cingular APN. As soon as I changed it to the hspa+ one, speed test worked.
For this of you on the pta APN, does your MMS work? If so, do you still have the WAP.Cingular APN in the list (just not checked)? Or is the pta APN the only one listed?
I too have my Sim provisioned for lte, but if I use the pta APN, I get great data speeds, but no MMS. Thanks.

Posted this on another similar thread. Worked for me. It's the Cingular.WAP APN but slightly different.

Thought I remember reading somewhere that Verizon Moto X was SIM unlocked for international use only. Sounds like the kind of thing Verizon would do.
Not to sound like a douche, but this has been discussed many many times, and the answer is: Older Verizon handsets were "international" meaning they had international bands but wouldn't work on US networks. That's since changed, as now all Verizon phones that have GSM capabilities are unlocked for US networks and international GSM too.
The issue the OP is having is not based on the network working at all, it's that his data specifically won't connect. OP, I'd double check all the possible APN's you could find online and see if changing them would work. Remember, H+ is all you'll get on a VZW Moto X that's on ATT's network.

I'm happy with hspa+ but I can't get the APN settings to save.
It could ultimately be an issue with the way VZW "modified" the firmware. When on VZW's network, APN's aren't editable at all. I'm assuming you're able to edit them as you're saying that the APN's won't save, but sounds like it's giving you the option to edit them.
Try these various APN's
Code:

I haven't cancelled my verizon line yet. Would that affect anything. Do I have to do a factory reset before using another carriers Sim?
EDIT:
May try using something like an app to modify the APNs, such as this > https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tweakker
That's honestly the only thing I know, if the phone won't let you add them from the system settings.
You shouldn't have to FR the phone just to use another SIM. If that were the case, then using the phone globally wouldn't work right as the APN's wouldn't sync up. I don't think that having the line active on VZW would hurt it either because ultimately, the device needs the SIM to even register on a CDMA network, let alone LTE.
There's bound to be a way to save the APN's properly. If it's allowing you to add them, then there should be a way to save them. Does it give you the 3-dot menu button? Or a button at the bottom to save or anything?

Yes there's the 3 dots then save. When I click save it goes to the main APN screen and there is no APN profiles there.
Just to confirm, you're typing a name for the APN right? Make sure that under mobile networks, the network type is set as LTE/GSM (or Global, I forget the option), and that roaming is allowed, and then try the APN. I wish I had my ST SIM active so I could test this with you.

I get horrible dropped calls, and can't make or receive calls from inside of any building. Does anyone know of how to help? Maybe AT&T hasn't provisioned me for LTE? Or something is wrong with the phone? Can someone please help?

E911 address is updated as well. http://imgur.com/a/6ZP9h I am on chroma 12/10, i manually flashed 6.0.1 stock, i also used the tmobile lollipop image for wifi calling and not luck, any help? Thanks

I recently got a Huaweii Nexus 6p about a weak ago and this was the one feature i needed the most due to poor reception in some parts of my home. After many days so searching xda, t-moble subreddit, and other help forums. I also made many calls to customer service and still getting no result. As of the other day i can confirm that I've found a solution.
1. Submit your e911 address to metropcs. You can the my metro app from the playstore or call customer service and give it to them so they can put it in the system manually.
2. Go into the apn settings and maually delete each default metro pcs apn one by one. After deleteing them you should notice that the apns will default to showing t-mobile's apn settings. (Ex: T-MobileGPRS, T-Mobile IMS, T-Mobile MMS)
3. Click on the first apn that says "T-MobileGPRS" that is the setting we will edit. The other apns you can leave as is.
4. Once in the T-MobileGPRS setting change the Name from T-MobileGPRS to "MetroPCS".
5. Change the the APN from fast.tmobile.com to "fast.metropcs.com" . Leave all other settings as is and then save the changes.
After that give it a few minutes then you will notice it says "T-Mobile Wifi Caliing" make a test call and you should see in the dialer screen "wifi calling". From the there you will be good to go!
** I can also confirm that this solution also activates VoLTE and data and mms also work with not issues at all!

I tried this and it did not work.. are you on band 12? It says I am on band 4. I'm not sure what to do, Volte did not work. It used to work with the same sim card on metropcs on my nexus 6.

Alright looks like you have the same setup i did. I stumbled upon this new configuration after the original solution I had posted stopped working. So with your current apn settings
1. Delete all the the Metro PCS 260 apns.
2. From there you should only have the default T-Mobile apns that list T-Mobile GPRS, T-Mobile IMS, T-Mobile MMS.
3. Edit the "T-Mobile GPRS" apn and save the following configuration:
Name: MetroPCS
APN: fast.metropcs.com
Proxy: <Leave in Blank>
Port: <Leave in Blank>
Username: <Leave in Blank>
Password: <Leave in Blank>
Server: <Leave in Blank>
MMSC: <Leave in Blank>
MMS proxy: <Leave in Blank>
MMS port: <Leave in Blank>
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
Authentication type: <Leave in Blank>
APN type: default,supl
APN Protocol: ipv6
APN Roaming Protocol : ipv4
Bearer: unspecified
MVNO Type: None
from there save this apn.
4. Create another apn to the list with the following configuration:
Name: MetroPCS 260
APN: fast.metropcs.com
Proxy: <Leave in Blank>
Port: <Leave in Blank>
Username: <Leave in Blank>
Password: <Leave in Blank>
Server: <Leave in Blank>
MMSC: (add in the http:// before)mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS proxy: <Leave in Blank>
MMS port: <Leave in Blank>
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
Authentication type: <Leave in Blank>
APN type: ia
APN Protocol: ipv4/ipv6
APN Roaming Protocol : ipv4/ipv6
Bearer: unspecified
MVNO Type: None
Save this apn when done.
5. From there you should have this list of apns: MetroPCS, MetroPCS 260, T-Mobile IMS, T-Mobile MMS.
Make sure the MetroPCS one is selected( The 1st in the list)
Almost forgot. To enable SMS texting over wifi:
--Go to Dialer; then dialpad
--dial *#*#4636#*#*
--Phone Information
--Turn on SMS over IMS.
From there if you once your done restart your phone and connect to a wireless network. And wait a few minutes then it should work from there. I used this setup and i can confirm that both wifi-calling is working & VoLTE. Let me know if this worked for you.

Ok so I tried this and then I had no data connection. After some time all I had was H. I then tried enabling wifi and putting on airplane mode with wifi enabled.. phone said connect to a network to make a call. To get my data and mms back I had to remove all the APN's and reset to default. I left the three tmobile ones there and added the mmsc (http://mms.msg.eng...) to the Metro 260 apn and now I have LTE again and my MMS is working as well as texts.
I guess its because I am on band 4? If you download LTE Discovery what band does it say you are on? This is weird at least I had Volte on the nexus 6 with the same sim card on metropcs.
