Trying power button + vol down. Or power button + home key. Neither seems to take sceen shots. Is this intended or a bug or is there a new sequence?
On htc one m7 with s-off, lollipop build (the m7 gpe) phone is converted to gpe with stock recovery.
Edit:
Fixed. Turns out there is some weird glitch with setting the priority mode when using the volume button and it seems to kick it into gear. Not sure why. But if you have a carrier One converted to GPE and screen shot is not working, then try setting the notification priority to be "on" via the volume up/down button. Then try screen shotting with power/volume down. It seems to be a simultaneous press that works best also.

I recently upgraded from 4.2 to 4.3 (Slim Bean) and suddenly my Power button doesn't work well.
When I press it, it doesn't wake the screen (not all the time, sometimes it does.)
When I remove the battery and put it in, the phone turns on immediately without me pressing the power button.
Sometimes the shutdown menu comes up randomly.
In CWM, I can't select anything ( the power button was used to select things in the menu.
Is it related to the upgrade, or is it just a coincidence of broken parts?
Any advice/workarounds?
Thanks!
It is a coincidence. Turn off the phone and try to turn it back on. Do you have the same issue? Note that Slim is not even loaded yet. Try to clean the button, search how, many threads on this subject here. Workaround is called Volume Rocker Wake, it's in ROM settings. Different place on different ROMs, but almost all custom ROMs have it. Good luck!
Once a day, and sometimes once every other day the screen will naturally go to sleep after a minute or whatever I have it set to, and then wont come back on. I know its just the screen because I can click volume buttons and hear the volume adjustment beep, and when I click the power button I can see the soft keys light up at the bottom of the phone, and then darken again when I click the power again.
The only fix I have found is to hold (POW + VOL UP + VOL DWN) until the phone force shuts down.
I have an AT&T M7 running the latest CM11 nightly.

Test it on another ROM and if the issue occures there too, it's likely a Hardware issue. Then you have to live with it or send it in to the warranty service.
But since it's a CM11 nightly it is likely a ROM related issue, so wait for an update or just change to the stable version.
Hi All,
This will be my first post in this forum.
This morning i was using the phone after it was 100% charged. It was good until when i wanted to make a phone call, tried to switch on by pressing the power button, then i realized the screen didn't turn ON. To check if phone is ON, i made a phone call from my office desk to my HTC one and i heard ringing sound over the desk phone. But my mobile HTC one did not wake up. I also didnt hear any sound in my HTC one. Later on i believe the phone switched off and now any trial calls go direct to HTC's voice mail.
Steps tried:
1. Tried to hold the power button for long, doesn't work.
2. Tried the Volume Down + Power button long hold to see if it comes up. But it didn't.
3. Also, tried Volume Up + Power button long hold, which also doesn't work.
I read in the same forum that I need to let go off the power button after 2 seconds after the long press, when the phone is switched OFF. I need expert suggestion.
Thanks!!
I am on stock ROM w/ 5.1.1
Holding the vol-down with the power button does nothing except show the volume control.
Is my Fire broken 0_o?
I get that unless I start pressing both at exact same time. Takes a couple seconds.
I am currently on 6.0.1 build MOB30G stock. At times the power and volume button don't respond. no matter how hard you press them. If the screen is locked, the only way to turn on the screen is to get a call or attach the charger or simply press the power key for 10 seconds+ and the phone restarts. Rest of the time the buttons seem to work properly. Judging its more of a software problem than a hardware one , I have done a factory reset on the phone.. but the problem has reoccurred. I believe a recent ota update may have caused it.
Any one else facing the same issue?
