So I wanted to upgrade from ANJ7 to ANK4.
I downloaded ODIN from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...sy-steps-stock-odin-n910tuvu1anih-cf-t2903733
I downloaded stock ANK4 from SamMobile.
I backed up my phone and put the phone in download mode. I flashed the stock ROM and ODIN said success.
Now it's been rebooting itself for the last 20 minutes. I have to go to my relatives for Christmas celebrations soon and it was probably stupid to it before hand, but whatever.
So how do I fix this?
Thanks!
Pull the battery.
Then put it back in.
You'll be straight

If that doesn't work.
Boot into stock recovery.
With the phone off.
Press volume up, power, and home.
And clear your cache.

Lol, didn't see your response.
I am ODIN'ing stock again. If it does the same thing, I will try your suggestion.
When you Odin stock you bootloop.

This is from a note 3 forum, but steps 8-11 still apply.
I've got to get to my family's house, too. But, let's get you unlooped.

The battery pull didn't do it.
However wiping data/cache (i.e. factory reset) worked like a charm.
Thanks!
Have a great day
You as well.

Hello, i have a droid 3 verizon cdma_solana, and i was trying to flash cyanogen mod, but i made a mistake and i didn't had any back up, so basically i'm stuck on a bootloop, i already tried flashing a lot of times with the stocl files i downloaded from the internet but it didn't seemed to work i need a help here, can anyone help me with that? I also tried other methods across the internet an none of them worked, so if anyone have a back up file and send it to me i'd be very thankfull, i need to get out of this brick to send it to motorola cause it had some conection issues, also the home and search button would'nt work so i was hopping they could do something but witha bootloop and root traces i can't do that! Also i do not owe any other phones so im basically going crazy, any help is needed thank you.

Comment: The backlight fix is an ugly hack at driver level. If anybody can tell me how to get that working on init.rc level (don't believe I haven't tried), tell me.

Great.
I have tried to write this silly value into brightness, but I failed hard.
What I've done to make this recovery: get cm-11.0, downloaded the recent kernel sources from this other thread, edited the configs, avoided errors.
If anybody cares to talk me through uploading this whole mess to git, I don't mind doing so. If anybody wants a zip, even better.
Anyway, it's getting late-ish. More brain-wrecking tomorrow...

backlight fix: please hand me the eye-bleach
Original:
Code:
static int dsi_s_wqxga_10_1_bl_notify(struct device *unused, int brightness)
{
int cur_sd_brightness = atomic_read(&sd_brightness);
/* SD brightness is a percentage */
brightness = (brightness * cur_sd_brightness) / 255;
/* Apply any backlight response curve */
if (brightness > 255)
pr_info("Error: Brightness > 255!\n");
else
brightness = dsi_s_wqxga_10_1_bl_output_measured[brightness];
return brightness;
}
Fix:
Code:
static int dsi_s_wqxga_10_1_bl_notify(struct device *unused, int brightness)
{
return dsi_s_wqxga_10_1_bl_output_measured[160];
}

Yes it running. Debating why? the stock recovery is basically useless, so flashing a recovery is harmless. Been building,rebuilding this recovery the last few days, all pretty much didn't work. So I did this today:
reboot to bootloader(fastboot)
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
And Ip's recovery is working, backup complete! If backup doesn't work(no reason it should't) with restore I can just flash the 4.3 update-user.zip.

let me power down first and see if it can get into fastboot when it's not bootlooping
Hey guys,
Tried updating with the 4.4.2 OTA on VZW and my phone got itself stuck in a boot loop. Gets to the android is updating sequence, says starting apps, then "Unfortunately android.proces.acore has stopped" and soft reboots. Totally stock, never rooted.
I got into system recovery and tried wiping cache but no luck with that. There are options to apply updates from sdcard and ADB, so is there a factory image for VZW 4.4 that I can push to my phone and apply it in recovery or am I SOL and have to do a factory reset? I'd hate to have to lose data...
Thanks!

There's no way to power down. I can soft reset and get into fastboot but that's about it.
Hold the power button down for 10 sec that should hard shut down the device

I haven't but I'd rather not lose texts, app data etc because those aren't saved to the internal sdcard partition, correct?
You won't lose anything that is saved to the sdcard only the app data and system data are factory reset...so yeah you will lose text but not pictures in your gallery or anything else that is saved to the sdcard

I didn't because having G+ enabled gave me battery drain... I did have an app to sync my pics with G Drive up until Jan 30th, but it wasn't working correctly so I got rid of it...
Think I'm going to use the dropbox auto upload though.
You never think something like this would happen, and bam it does.
It's so weird, I've wiped data before on my Galaxy Nexus which also uses a vitual SDcard, and I never had this happen.

Getting into fastboot is the bootloader mode. Hold Volume Down + Power for about 3 seconds and release. You can read what version of the bootloader you have from fastboot mode (aka bootloader mode).
I had installed the xposed module for the Android L navi bar. After I installed rebooted etc. I entered the apps UI and it instructed me to add an extra line to the build prop (qemu.hw.mainkeys = 0). So I went into a file explorer and tried to edit it; no dice, it wouldn't let me do a thing (Should have taken that as a sign right?!?). So I tried another app, but this time it allowed me to edit but not save. Meh, tough luck right? Not too soon afterwards I uninstalled the module and all that good stuff and rebooted because I have OCD like that. All that did was bring me to where I am now with a soft bricked (?) phone. I can turn the phone on, the "LG" screen shows but after that it's just black. All the while the front LED is flashing from green to blue like it's starting normally. I can get to the "volume key to end call etc" menu before it boots and I can even get to the Hard Reset screen and execute said hard reboot but that's not bringing my flex back to life either for some reason. If I can get into Download Mode I'll have a good chance of getting it up and running but that won't even work. I know it was a pain getting to Download Mode the last time I downgraded but now it seems impossible. I've tried the "shut down, hold volume up button and plug in USB" method and I've tried the "hold volume up and power button while plugged in method" the former being the one that worked for me in the past. I'm super flustered/tired and probably missed a few details so if anyone can help and needs more information, don't be afraid to ask/demand, any help is appreciated.
BTW I have done my fair share of searching and to no avail, I'm not afraid of research but I am afraid of you guys bashing me for not doing so. So just know I tried. These threads would be what I need but I can't utilize either until I get to Download Mode.
