Is it possible?
Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA Free mobile app
as of this moment its not
With the changes Google made in security I doubt we will see much if any root exploits like towel root or one click root apps. This is mostly a good thing
No it is not.

I run stock, but, I'm rooted and s-off, main reason is WiFi tether, after that is just to fix little bugs here and there, the awesome devs here usually fix them before HTC even knows about them..

I always root for wifi tether and ad blockers. Usually run stock roms.
The "gain" quite simply is root access to be able to run certain apps that u cant run without root. Some people take it further than others. Your not gunna change the world if u root your phone

Root =
Wi-Fi tether
Remove bloat ware (Sprint apks)
Ad blockers
Create backup
Prevent ota (so you can do them as you choose)
Kicks / customization
The sky is the limit
Root = more options.

keep flashing custom and stock
custom gives me android 4.3 which i want but it has a couple bugs so i keep going back to stock haha.

As biggy said, We can't change the world unless we change ourselves.
We cant root the phone unless we root ourselves.
Does anyone in the UK use any temp unroot app, so they can use Barclays app's.

It doesn't work.
Try the root cloak module in xposed, but Barclays looks for root in system so it cant be hidden
Just type Barclay's Mobile Banking Root Fix on XDA, that thread will help you a bit, I think.

does that work?... They must be a new update since I last looked, but thanks,
hoping for a root cloak for sky go as well.....
EDIT
As I thought, that wont work...its been patched in a way that will be EXTREMELY difficult to fix

Sorry, I thought that was the fix! ...but I saw now it was dropped...all 3 methods are broken..
I'd be very interested to know why they don't allow root users use of the app. Anyone any ideas?

Its a potential security risk as root means you can see sensitive data within the app, or personal data
Its to protect the customer

That makes sense, seems a bit overkill but if it's for the customers benefit then it's all good. I'm with TSB sadly, but their app works on rooted handsets.

How often does the app check for root? What if the app was installed on stock and then you rooted? Could the app be modded from that point? Or a previous version be used instead?

Lol its about as safe as using a desktop. Root is like administration rights on Windows app. Besides all other banking apps don't have the same restrictions why only Barclay's?
There is no perfect justification for what they are doing.
Besides using Barclays on desktop regardless of platform is more dangerous that root on phone. On your phone atleast you know what app is doing what and you can stop it. On desktop you don't know what app you've installed and what's it doing.
yup owns Z1 and stuff.
I am curious as to why it is so hard to root the note 3 on kit Kat? I have rooted phones for years, but by no means do I really know much about it other than reading rooting instructions on xda. Two days ago I rooted my fiance's S III and it couldn't have been easier. What makes rooting our phones on kit Kat so difficult. I'm just wondering. I guess if the answer was easy we would have a solution.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
No exploits have been found to crack kitkat. Too secure.

In order to root a phone you need to find an exploit, or loophole in the system. The phones you previously rooted were simple because someone found that loophole and packaged a way for you to do it. As android develops it becomes more complex, and secure. Samsung also is growing and adding their new security feature called Knox. Don't forget at&t your carrier. They request Samsung to lock the bootloader. So now that there is all this code and security involved, root access is a pain in the a$$!
Is it worth losing root over? Opinions needed, I'm also willing to go to bank of America.

I can only give a very subjective answer to this. Yes, I think it's worth it. Samsung pay actually works very well, and allows you to seriously start using your phone as your primary payment method. Not to mention that there are obvious security benefits as well.
I have rooted all my other devices, but haven't felt that root would bring a significant benefit to the s6, other than to clear bloatware.
In my opinion if you are used to root then you will miss it with a passion. I bought the new note 5 and regret it. Samsung pay is a nice way to pay for stuff. But how hard is it really to grab your card out of your pocket. I am getting rid of this note asap because I miss the things you can do with root. I would really think about it before making that decision.

I hate the bloatware but one of the main reasons I root is to get rid of the ads
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using Tapatalk
i root for bloatware, Ads, and disabling services involved for logging/reporting/spying.
Really wish this phone had an unlocked bootloader

With all these security vulnerabilities that have arose over the past couple weeks like the virus that can root your phone or the security exploit in Chrome that seems to be all over the internet today (11/13/15) both claim to root the device and cause malicious problems, is it possible to reverse engineer these viruses and security problems so that we would be able to root our AT&T S6 and the S6 Active's?

I so hope this works. I want to root my phone so bad!
