[Q] Battery charge when bricked

my captivate has reached the point where it is totally dead. am going to try the jig and see if that will bring it to life. but not big hopes there.
was wondering if i have a battery issue now. will the battery still charge wjen plugged to a charger if the phone is bricked.
the phone only has a black screen. no lights or power nothing.
Remove the battery, wait 30 seconds, put it back in and plug the phone into the USB charger. If the screen doesn't show the battery charge indicator, your phone is most likely beyond unbricking.

[SOLUTION] HTC Vivid will not charge or turn on after battery drain

I have had a seemingly common problem with after the battery has drained and the phone has died it not being able to charge. You plug in the charger and the light flashes for a few seconds then nothing. I've gone through two batteries so I've ruled that out. It could be the phone itself or the ROM. I don't know and will try different ROMs and see. In the mean time I followed a youtube video on how to charge your battery by using the contacts and not the port. It allowed the battery to charge up enough so I can now charge it normally. If you can get one of those battery chargers from the web that would probably be better, but I didn't have one and this worked for me.

Me too .. when i get that .. i keep it that way for 2-3 hr and it is charged .. if not use malticharger ..

HTC charging slowwwwwww

hi.
i got the htc for about 3-4 months. at beggining it was perfect. good battery and charging FAST AS FCK , but now, it charges SO slow.
im using the original htc cable to charge it, the cable that came with the phone. and plugged in to the wall plug.
if im using the phone while its charging its just not charging and even the battery still goes down WHEN ITS CONNECTED. so for it to charge i need for like 3-4 hours not the touch the phone at ALL.
at the beggining when i got the phone i could be gaming on the phone and still battery whould go up. now even if everything is closed, ONLY whatsapp is open and im on whatsapp the battery keep going down.
all my apps are closed and nothing running.
any solutions for it or what should i do?
Dear guyeee,
It seems that your problem is related to the HTC charger itself.
I have a suggestion that you probably should replace your HTC charger set, due to
prolonged usage of heavy gpu loading while charging.
I also would recommend that you should not always using your phone to perform heavy task /multi-tasking while charging.
Doing so will shorten the life-span of your HTC battery and damage both your HTC inbuilt battery and charger easily, and worn out or misbehaviour eventually after a couple of months.
They are also many other reasons to cause this behaviour, like
Dropping your charger too often ,or the wire for your HTC charger , etc..
It 's just some advice from me. Based on my observation and some little , minor experience.
Not saying that I'm always right , but I did my best here to help you out.
Lastly, hope you solved your problem soon and your HTC one is back alive as normal. Cheers ?

I would at least try a different charger to see if problem is the charger or the HTC.
If it also gains charge slowly with an other charger it is likely your HTC.
Are you running any custom ROM?
Have you tried to restore to factory default yet?
Kind regards, Stefan.
My charger had that problem too.I tried my Samsung charger(since it also is mini usb) with it and now it charges
fast!

HTC unable to charge

Hey guys hope you are all ok
I had a problem with charging my htc one m7 a message pop up telling me that the phone is unable to charge due to consumption of battery .. I can buy a new socket of charging or just a charging flat .. can it be a software issue ? And I see the front camera being not good enough .. I rooted my phone can this damage the camera software ?
Rooting should not hurt the camera unless you are overclocking or overheating your device.
I had a blue M7 that spontaneously reboot one time after plugging in the charger, and that was it, no more charging.
I have a Verizon M7 that I had an issue with last week charging, I let the battery drain down to 2% (I was traveling) and could not get to a charger . That night, I plugged it in, and by morning, it was barely reaching 95% battery. For whatever reason, the charge was super slow.
After that - it is charging like it used to and is back to normal speed. You may want to try a different cable, I have used the Ampre app and have seen it measure different cables differently. Some do not charge as well, and in those cases, phone may sense it and think it is not being charged fast enough.

Htc One m7 won't turn on

I know this phone is old and a new one has been ordered, but I just want to get some pictures off of it before it becomes trash. I can only get it to turn on to the logo screen and then it goes off. It won't charge, but will show the led from time to time blinking red and the battery icon on the screen and then it disappears. I can get to the bootloader screen, but it's locked so I can't do anything. Any suggestions/help? Please?!

It's not clear to me exactly what your issue is (don't have 1+) but does sound like charging issue, might just be usb connector (damaged/dirty) or more problematicly the battery or battery charging circuitry. A usb connector with debris in should be easier fix.
If you have some electrical knowledge (or take to repair shop & they can do it) you should be able to overcome phone not charging by opening phone up to either charge battery via accessing back of usb connector/pcb/pwb or connect another battery. (Be careful playing with electricity & charges )
Note: if the battery has been run down too far by you keep turning it on then the battery will not charge normally again as it needs some residual charge in it to become charged (ie when your phone shows zero charge really the battery retains a few % otherwise it's impossible to recharge, though a special charger can supply a high charge initially to bring them back to life sometimes, but you probably need a battery specialist for that, so much easier to swap battery)
if it's soft brick then that is a whole different story.
I'm not electrically inclined, so I'll likely take it to a local shop. Thanks for your response.
