Franco Pre-r1 testing battery results from a one day period, was at home on wifi all day. 7h 22m 40s @ 2% using very similar settings that I used on the OnePlus One (vt_quad)
Edit:
Battery should be better since more changes were made to the kernel compared to the pre-r1 build I was using.

Hi, the 1st image shows 5.0.2 lollipop?! How did you get that please?
???
does this kernel work on all phones, sprint att and such with stock roms or do i need a custom rom?
also, i am used to flashing roms and kernels on galaxy phones, so this is new to me. Is it the same process? Get into TWRP and install the zip? Or do i need to do a complete wipe? If i want to return back to stock for any reason, what will I have to then? Basically, im concerned with erasing my data.
Thanks
confused!!
does it work on 5.0.1?

Why are you using the old app? Update it. It's been out for a week now.

The kernel is universal, works for everything. Just flash the zip same process, boot into twrp and flash the kernel and then reboot.
It's as simple as that. If you want to return to stock then flash stock kernel zip, it's simple.

For those of us running LS your home and multitasking buttons will disappear. You can use pie controls to counter this. Also your lock screen won't work it will just shown your home screen when you dt2w or press the power to wake the device. I don't use a lock code so this is what happens to me. I love Franco's kernels after using them on my Nexus 7 and I can't wait to use this one once the issues are fixed.

Franco kernel updater. It's the app that companions the kernel which let's you update the kernel with a click of a button as well as tweak settings of the kernel and change colors and have profiles etc.
It's 30 percent off right now. Is it worth buying? Of course, it's on sale and still holiday season.

You can flash the kernel with on click via the app. Its painless and awesome. If you haven't used the app before check out the options there are even ones to save previous kernels and per app settings. The app is worth every penny.

thats nice to know, to bad i didnt make a backup of the original kernel. oh well.
another question. I selected the power saving mode, restarted the phone, and it wasnt highlighted anymore. Do i have to select one of the modes every time i reboot? Which mode is automatically selected after each reboot?

It should automatically apply, I haven't used Franco's kernel in a while since I sold my Nexus 7 (2013) a few months ago. A lot has changed in the app since then. I would try some things and see what happens.

It's obvious that you're pirating the app because the app isn't even called FKUBeta anymore. Buy the application and then your problems with the application will go away.
Also, stop saying ??? It adds nothing to the conversation

I don't mean to be rude or anything but yeah. Piracy isn't something we endorse on xda, it's a app that was well thought out in terms of design and is updated quite frequently. Plus it's on sale!
You won't regret buying it for the convenience of flashing newer versions of the kernel.

This ROM is based on the OTA that t3rabyte received, it's completely stock with root and busybox. This is meant as a flashable version of the dump he posted, so I don't plan on posting mods or fixes for it as I am also posting a custom ROM later based on this that I will do that for.
Also the kernel has been slightly modded to disable secure mode & enable init.d support.
I HIGHLY recommend you factory reset/wipe data before you flash this, even if your coming from the other TouchWiz ROM
The 2 version are:
Calkulin's_GT-P7510_HMJ37.UEKM7_ROM - Stock form
Calkulin's_GT-P7510_HMJ37.UEKM7_De-odex'd_ROM - De-odex'd for theming, mods, etc
Special thanks to t3rabyte
Nice, i add some mods to it
Very cool, thanks for the effort. Can't wait to see what you come up with! I need to root my GT, was waiting for the weekend but maybe tonight...
So installing the first one is basically like getting the update straight from the horses mouth? Sans the root and busybox of course.

The Rom is in .zip so you need CWM in order to install.
Look here or Here For instructions on how to install CWM.
Then download the .zip install it through CWM. The rom is already rooted.
For a locked tab, your only option probably is to flash the clockworkmod recovery through ODIN, instructions are in this that thread

Stoked to see you working on the tab! If you are putting half as much attention on the tab as you did the Evo, things just got real up in here!

Hi,
This is a small CWM zip to add the [email protected] line to your existing boot and recovery partitions to fix the ram issue with the international unlocked bootloader. If the second mem is already there it does nothing.
The point of this is you can have a regular recovery flashed and fix the ram issue without wondering what tegra part you have, it preserves your serial number as well. More useful with stock boot images than custom ones that already have this done.
To use:
Flash with a CWM recovery supporting edify scripting. That means you have an unlocked recovery basically. The program inside the zip can be used on it's own to list the cmdlines already in your phone, or to set them to something else.
As cmdline, it lists, as setcmdline it sets the entire thing, as addcmdline it adds on to the end of the existing cmdline.Cheers!
Great! Looks like our bell friends are having good development as well.

You can just keep it handy on your sdcard and use when needed, it depends on the "rom" you flash, it may or may not have a ram fix solution built in.

It depends on the Kernel the Rom has within it, nothing else.
Furthermore, no offense. But this is kinda useless now. Did you not know we have unified Kernel's? If someone made a Rom without a unified kernel, they can basically shove that Rom.
I do not see a point in this at all. I guess maybe for testing old Roms.....

Hi,
I addressed this already in the OP. It's more for use with stock kernels.
Can you compile the motorola kernel source (pick one) and get a binary exact match for the stock Bell kernel?
No offense to the guys working on kernel's here, but I am not really compelled by the added features/bug fixes, and am concerned more about stability, especially when the source seems to be ATT based. Which is fine if you are running an ATT framework "rom/theme" I guess, even better if you have an ATT phone.
Cheers!

Legend Q&A,
Q. When the status bar is hidden, how can I access the files on the device?
A. USB mass storage goes through the statusbar service, so it gets disabled too. Droid Explorer is an excellent tool to access the files on the phone, just make sure the phone has usb debugging enabled, since adb is still enabled.

3.4 Beta 2
I read on the development thread that version 3.4 will be released tonight. I just finished upgrading to this (3.4 Beta 2--works great by the way!). Are you anticipating updating the zip, or will the the current "beta 2" package be the same as what is "released" this evening?
I had a weird issue after flashing 3.4 ICS. My status bar disappeared along with my Calendar app. I flashed back to 3.0 ICS and they are working again.
Thoughts?

I just reflashed again from 3.0 ICS to 3.4 ICS exactly like before. This time it worked. We'll just call the first time a bad flash (even though I flashed 3.4 over 3.4 after the error first occurred).
Weird.

Just an FYI, I noticed a little glitch when you select the 4-Tap lock screen and your battery gets low and notifies you to plug it up the charge symbol shows %d%% if I remember correctly. Didn't want to post in here but I don't have enough to post in development yet. Also its a great ROM.

That has been a tough one from the start, you change it and it works for the larger numbers but not smaller. Change it again and it works for smaller numbers and not the larger ones. Havent figured out the proper place holder configuration. So I opted for the larger numbers.

A nandroid backup can bring some of the old sigs with it, causing problems, I've been using tibu with no problems. If having problems with the no wipe, the full wipe maybe what you need to do, I think the problem lies with the nandroid backup.
I really appreciate your feedback.

Great rom and thanks for your hard work. I am having a crazy issue with 3.0 running the HSB theme. After 2 days almost exactly my phone app disapears from the dock. The icon is just gone. I tried adding the shortcut with a long press and application shortcut, but it is not even listed as an option. However if I use a direct dial shortcut it calls just fine. really weird
I went back to stock and flashed again full wipe, same thing happened. I was reluctant to go to 3.4 just yet. has anyone else reported this issue?
Geeve
This is the first report of this issue. After you reflashed 3.0 did you reflash the theme or a different kernel? I'm just checking if this might be theme related or possibly kernel related. Crt and myself are using corn 6.03 it seems some of the newer versions are doing some funky stuff. We seen random reboots, and crt's phone actually called his voicemail while on the table using one of the newer versions of the corn kernel.
As the name implies this is a bone stock rooted ROM with the exception of root and busy and its de-odexed.
I also updated all the apps. So its not really bone stock but.. Close enough
This ROM has two purposes...
1. For someone that wants just that, a stock rooted ROM with no mods.
2. For others that want to dive into development or at least tinker around with there own custom ROM. This is a great base to work from! All the menial tasks such as rooting and de-odeodexing have been done for you.
Hope you find value in this!

I'm on stock KMN that I rooted myself and am showing an update to KMP, but it fails every time so I figure it's probably due to the fact that I'm rooted.
That said, I thought I would give this a try, but I'm loath to reinstall everything afterwards so my question is whether this requires a wipe? I'm assuming this is installed from recovery, is that right?

Matt at http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=40445 figured how to downgrade the touch firmware to a previous version, which had better sensitivity. But it won't stick after a reboot, so I compiled a custom kernel with the downgraded touch firmware.
Here's how to make it stick after a reboot. This requires a my custom kernel and also to manually downgrade the touch driver once using terminal or adb.
This will downgrade your touch firmware from E027 to E015.
First, flash my kernel, download links listed above. .
Second, after flashing the flashing the kernel and rebooting, download this file SynaImage.E015.bin*http://goo.gl/4vzd4 and place on the root of the sdcard.
Then open terminal or adb and request root permission.
Then type the following command "echo 1 /sdcard/SynaImage.E015.bin > /sys/devices/virtual/input/lge_touch/firmware"
The screen will not be responsive to touch for a few seconds as the firmware is downgraded.
To check if it downgraded successfully, run this in terminal "cat /sys/devices/virtual/input/lge_touch/fw_ver" you should get "E015" as a response. Try this after rebooting to see if it sticks.
Your done! Now you have a nice sensitive touchscreen.
Credit goes to Matt who figured out how to downgrade the touch firmware here http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=40445, comment 42.
This is totally reversible, just flash any kernel or booting into recovery, and the original firmware will update automatically.
CWR Touch will revert the the touch firmware, therefore the touchscreen will be non-responsive for a few seconds when you first boot into recovery, you can use the volume buttons and power button until the touchscreen is responsive again. .

Here's another method to downgrade the touch firmware

Everyone incoporate this into your Kernel's NOW , yes you Faux!
Great find , I might test tonight.
I suggest you make a bigger deal out of the no touch CWM. People are going to miss that and then complain incessantly when they realise.
I'll try it when I get back home, but I thought the screen of the Nexus 4 was perfect !
Hopefully kernel devs incorporate this. Any ideas if TWRP is borked too? I'm not sure if it has anything but touch options.

Yeah touch won't work with TWRP either. I can always compile the recoveries with the downgraded touch firmware and that will fix touch in them.

Yeah, they should include it because it doesn't downgrade the touch firmware, unless you downgrade it manually it just helps it stick. And reflashing the same kernel or any kernel will reverse it automatically. Everyone wins.
This option is nice to have until Google or LG update the firmware themselves.

Yep! I subscribed the issue and applied the fix directly after it was posted.
I love it! Please Google / LG, fix the "ghost touch" issue without making the screen less sensitive.
@Faux: Include it in your Kernel!
@AlwaysDroid / Apfelschale: PRS is the same though, but the sensivity is better. I tested it today in my daily routine.
this looks promising but I'll probably wait until motley or faux include it in their kernels. Currently running motley since I'm getting this phone RMA'd and wanted to try all the kernels and like it a lot so I don't want to give up those features for a slightly more sensitive screen.
It's nice for some people I'm sure but my phone feels just fine.
I hope kernel devs don't enable this out of the box, or at least provide a way of turning it off and on.

Hasn't changed for anyone, I think prs reading having any substance has been debunked. Some readings saying improvement with no difference in prs reading are in the other thread.

You don't have to include it in the kernel, just replace the old one and test it. It'll be gone after a reboot.
Everything you need is described here: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=40445#c42
I can definitely see an improvement here. Values gone from around 0.5 to 0.3
Successfully downgraded and jammin. Sticks after reboot. Thanks
