Custom / Stock ROMs
I just switched to Moto X from Nexus 4 (with which I tried many ROMs thanks to MultiRom app).
Now I am tempted to try Liquid, since it was my favorite on the Nexus, but I am not sure about the right procedure to follow and - above all - I am afraid I will not be able to revert to stock (whereas factory images for the Nexus are so easy to install).
Considering I am absolutely not an expert, it would be useful if someone could post the right procedures (or a link to them) specific for Moto X 2014.
Root your device (there is an instruction in the forum)
Download Rom
Recovery:
Wipe factory reset
Flash Rom (like on your nexus)
Dalvik cache wipe
Reboot
If you have the encryption error
Wipe data (all data lost)
Reboot

You need a device with an unlocked bootloader to do this, since it installs via custom recovery. The only way to get custom recovery is to either have root or an unlocked bootloader, which Verizon models do not have at this point.

Anyone else not have working GPS lock after flashing? Its on high accuracy using Google maps just like I do with great success on stock ROM. What is different between GPS on stock and aosp? Any modifications to GPS related things?
I've had this issue on other ROMs and phones even but only on aosp ROMs and I can't figure out why.

Yes it should work with XT1093, as it's only the ROM and doesn't contain any radios. Just remember to back up first just in case! Nobody with uscc has tried it out AFAIK.

I followed the op instructions and installed using twrp. So I can't really say for sure if it has anything to do with cwm, but I'm not having this problem.

If you guys are talking about the sdcard setting in app manager it won't show anything since the G2 doesn't have a external storage. Unless you have a On The Go cable attached with a thumb drive it will be always blank. Thanks.

hi i really thank you for this incredible rom, its amazing, i have one question. since i was on 24a before the update, and as you said to use 12b radio, do i stay on that one? or do i use the 24a radio?. thanks in advance.
Is anyone else getting random "static" on their screen? Every now and then some or all of the screen flashes with static and then it goes away. Doesn't seem to be any correlation with what I'm doing at the time. Not using any apps that I don't normally use.
You must have the 12B radio installed. Later versions will result in a boot loop.

Do I have to flash 12a bootstack or something else before to get this ROM to work? Does it have any known bugs?

After flashing this rom
First of all: Great Job bringing Lollipop to VZW G2.
After some time using it I've seen some bugs.
1. In the Phone app, when you search for a name on the upper bar it force close if you tap the name to call it.
2. NFC not working
3. When I change for LTE to 3G or 1x it loses all the signal and data. Its only working with LTE (and yes I flashed 12b)
Please, I will appreciate your help guys. Thanks a lot.

The search in phone app has already been address, read the OP for work around.. As far as NFC, it hasn't worked since the start so its a feature I am working on at the moment. As far as loosing data when switching. Make sure that the data roaming switch is turned On when manually selecting Networks. You can leave it on Global and turn Data Roaming Off and no issues switching between the Networks.
Thanks.

Can i install xposed on there ?? i think xposed is not supported on lollipop right now....
Stuck with pulsating crDroid 'eye'
Don't get past the boot image.
How can I detect what is wrong ?
Tried several things.
Factory reset, wiped dalvik cache, wipe cache.
The zip file is not corrupt, it flashed without an error, several times, as well as gapps, tried with both recent KK and LP ones.
So far, I have been able to flash CyanogenMod files since version 9 with both CWM and TWRP recovery installed.
I don't see anything suspicious in recovery.log.
Where else shall I look for vital information ?

This one is good. Haven't faced any single issue from yesterday. I have tried many different lollipop roms in my device so far, and there was always issues that I couldn't ignore, but this one is more stable than the rest out there, I can assure you about that. However, don't know if it's fully stable or not, that's why gonna hold onto this for a while. Let's see what happens. And a big thanks to Crdroid for this awesome rom! keep up the good work guys.

Not booting for me either. Looper v1.2 on Galaxy s6 t920
The rom is not booting up for me. I was previously running version 1.1 and it was fine, but after trying to flash the newest one it failed to boot so I restored from my backup. I am using the latest twrp and I have always lurked these forums and am quite knowledgeable but never posted before. thanks for all your work!! I've been on looper for awhile and its been great.
Just got a (supposedly rooted) Droid Turbo off Ebay... looks real nice. The phone was advertised as rooted, though i'm not sure how to verify. Android version 5.1
I had planned to install a custom ROM... initally CM12... as I want to tether with the device. I have CM12 installed on a Kindle fire and it works well, and I've installed custom ROMs (CleanROM, specifically) previously with an HTC One M8 (go S-off, unlock bootloader w/ sunshine, twrp recovery, etc), and it worked well.
I did note in the CM12 thread that simultaneous voice + data isn't supported right now. Thats a feature I use a lot, so I'm wondering if any other ROMs are out that support both tethering as well as simultaneous voice/data. (ideally ones with continuing support, but hey, can't be too picky). Maybe not a deal breaker, but it'd be a concern.
Also... I was expecting unlocking the bootloader to be a big deal (or at least to require another paypal payment to sunshine). Looks like I have an "allow bootloader unlock" option in developer options. Is that all I need? That'd be sweet!
Thanks all!

Rooted? Do you see SuperSu anywhere? If not, then download SuperSu and see what happens.

Well it's easy to unlock the bootloader, install TWRP and actually get root.
And Marshmallow is coming soon -- possibly in the next couple of weeks:

Uh dude I already know that....

fwiw, I haven't installed a SIm card on it... trying to avoid any unnecessary OTA updates being stuffed down my throat
Trying superSU shortly. If that doesn't, work, I assume I'll be doing the sunshine approach?

Yes.
Yeha, superSU installed but didn't run. Might have gotten ripped off I guess. It is still a decent phone. I guess it'll just be a bit more work than ideal.
and i assume that Marshmellow coming is bad.. as in, harder to root/unlock/mess with?
Are there any well-supported ROM options besides CM? I like CM, but the voice+data is a big thing

Not really, we have bootloader unlock right now.

Yes, there is one good stock-based ROM which has this. I am using it right now and it is great. Check our Android development sub.

It's computerfreek's ROM, currently on version 1.2.7. I am not 100% sure on the tethering but WiFi hotspot works fine (its the same thing right?).

Custom ROM list is here. All the Quark ROMs work on all the Quarks -- including the Droid Turbo XT1254 (with unlocked bootloader):
CM12.1 ( @Skrilax_CZ dev)
Resurrection Remix ( @baybutcher27 dev)
Mokee (AOSP ROM, @baybutcher27 dev)
Nexus Experience (AOSP ROM), (EDIT: Nexus Experience has not been updated recently and does not work with Droid Turbo radio.)
Xperia Z5G
as well as custom kernel BHB27 ( @baybutcher27 dev).
Droid Turbo owners are using all of these above.
________
There's also ComputerFreak274 stock ROM with tweaks here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-turbo/development/computerfreekunlocked1-0-t3255945
As of this moment, that's the only one that does VoLTE on Verizon. The others including CM and Resurrection Remix have the VoLTE flags and all that, but for some reason right now it's not working on Verizon. The devs haven't given up yet.

Yes, if you take the OTA update from Verizon before unlocking your bootloader now.

That exploit will be patched with the OTA update. In fact, I wouldn't take the OTA update at all, even if your bootloader is unlocked. Let others take the risk.
Once Marshmallow hits, all the ROMs will be updated to Marshmallow. Use those.

Tethering (also called Portable Hotspot) works on all the custom ROMs, especially CM12.1 and Resurrection Remix. It's a fairly standard feature.

I was never able to get Nexus Experience to work signal and data wise, regardless of the baybutcher kernal and fsg-id fastboot option to change to Verizon. Am i doing something wrong or is this a known issue.
Thanks

Marshmallow will be fine as long as you unlock before it shows up. There are no supported roms besides a modified stock rom that have functioning simultaneous voice and data.
EDIT: Oops. I didn't read enough. Sorry for the redundant post.

I went into the thread and looks like Nexus Experience has not been updated recently. Sorry. I edited my reply above to add that note.
The others all work with Droid Turbo however, except for VoLTE. So, there's 4 custom ROMs instead of 5 -- plus the stock ROM with tweaks. Three of those are based on CM, and one is AOSP.

Cool, by the way i get a lot of error messages of com.android and system ui stopping on xperia rom. Is it because I am not using baybutchers kernel?
