Hello and happy new year everyone,
I've just finished replacing the lcd screen of my gf's xperia z, everything worked well, except for the touchscreen. The display is on and I can see everything, but the display doesn't react to touch.
Should I open it again to see if I didn't plug anything or is the display just not working? What should I do? Please help!
Thanks in Advance

Did you solve this problem? I have exactly the same problem after Touch&LCD screen replacement and I need help?
It is not unusual that screen replacements are faulty. After getting burned myself I always check the functionality of the replacement part before installation. It is actually quite easy to simply plug in the new assembly for a test with only the back cover removed from the faulty handset.
That way a non-functioning replacement can be returned in exchange for a new one.
In your specific case you should definitely disassemble again and replug all connections. And test results before fixing the battery cover of course.

Hey guys,
I've had my X1i for a year now. No hard falls most falls are on soft surfaces. & Suddenly today morning woke up & the touch screen isn't responding. So I looked up posts, some said turn it off & turn it back along with removing the battery & it should work fine. Tried that, worked for a bit then stopped working again. Also tried soft-reseting & gave the same result. So is there any other method you guys know ? I'm thinking the other type of reseting..forgot what it's called but that'll delete everything so i gotta back things up first. So any solutions? & thanks in advance.
Have you got a screen protector on it? If so, try lifting the edges of it a little.
Nope, no screen protector. Does it have to do with any .cabs i've installed before ? Or they're not related? Is the battery related? Could it cause something like that?
I once run into the following, it may help you too:
after installing an app(from a cab) my screen was allmost non responsive.
Calibration didn't help.
I have "Advannced config" installed, uppon checkin the sensitivity it was waaaaay down, even under default.
Hope it helps for you too =)
i had the same problem to on my proto x1
it completely stopped working and i tried everything (reflash rom, boot android)
but all without luck so i bought a replacement screen
after a while my touch screen started working again but still occasionally fails
i have not yet replaced my touchscreen, i am thinking about a loose connector or something...
btw i was on official r3 fw
your flex cable might have worn out!

here is one thread about it, there should be others if you search some more than I did
and this would be a means to get a new one (official site, similar price), if it really is the cause and you don't like to tinker
cheers and gl
If your LCD is working, then it could be bad digitizer like mine instead of the ribbon cable. (Well, I use X1 a lot in humid place like bathroom.....). Just pay a few extra to buy the LCD+Digitizer for about ~$30 that will save you a lot headache for just the digitizer alone. There's a thread in X1 accessories forum.
My Xperia X1 had a fall and the screen glass was broken heavily, so I bought from ebay a cheap replacement screen+digitizer (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300628817380), today I got it, and went ahead and installed it following online guides on the diassembly of the X1, all went ok (the guide did not say how to separare the broken glass from the screen itself, so i went ahead by some force.
But after the assembly, the phone is not accepting any touch input, I am sure I put back all cables and contacts in their correct location, but no touch is working
is the digitizer not a compatible one? how can I be sure of it? I don't want to spend a lot on fixing this phone, it is old and slow, I want to use it as a second sim holder.
Thanks in advanced....
i diassembled and reassembled the device and now touch works...

Greetings,
As I said in my old post, after re-assembling the device a second time the touch works again, but this time I did something and the backlight remains always on, which is consuming all the battery.
Did not investigate more in the issue, my X1 is in the drawer for the moment.
hi every one
does some one have an explanation about this issue ???
i replaced the screen one week ago and i was working so fine untill yesterday it started to do this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DoAF3Ry-CsM
I would want to know this solution too.
It is the second display I replace on this phone and after a week this happens!
Whoahhhhhh pip a happy pill and have a nice trip hahahaha,no for reall thats just sad my guess is that this screen is defect aswell
I tried the old screens that have broken digitizer but the lcd still works.
Both work fine and do not show the problem in the screen, one of them had this problem before and now works fine, until I open the camera app, and then it starts to appear a little the problem.
The other screen, the original, does not seem to do the problem even when I open the camera app...
So the problem must be these cheap lcd's I bought.
But if I buy another one the problem may appear again right?

Hi there can anyone help me please on this matter.
My wife has a HTC One M7. last week the phone fell in to the bath. I managed to open the phone up and clean it.
The phone was taken apart and cleaned correctly using the correct circuit board cleaning solution (sorry cant remember the name).
I then ordered a new battery as the old one was not holding full charge. I also ordered a new screen + digitizer as the old one was cracked.
I have put everything together and charged the phone.
The phone charges correcrtly and has no problems at all.
When i switch on the phone it starts as normal and makes normal sounds etc BUT the screen is dead.
There is NO life in the screen at all even though its a new screen etc.
I know that the old screen is working and even using that i still get nothing.
Has anyone else come across this issue ?
Are there any guides to test the screen driver IC etc ....???
Thanks for your help in advance
It seems like that you have got a faulty screen.

MIght be a faulty screen as said above, maybe a broken or badly connected flex cable. And since the phone went into the bath, maybe a defective motherboard. Its very hard to tell.
as @alray said, it's hard to judge what's the cause of the dead screen, it may be one of the three causes.
so first, you can connect your old screen to the motherboard, if it can still work, to check whether the mother board was damaged or not
if the old screen can be lighten up, you can exclude the possibility of damaged motherboard.
second , you can connect your new screen to the motherboard again. Just be carefully and pay attention to the connector. Make sure it is connected correctly. If the screen can't be lighted up, you need try to use achohol or something else in a small brush to clean the connector. Handle gently to avoid damaging the IC. After that check whether the IC has lost some part or not. Then, if the flex cable or connector is fine, you can connect the new screen to the motherboard again.
finally, if the new screen still keep the same same situation. you can almost judge that you ordered a defective part.
May the steps above helps!
Hi there
the screen works fine as well as the connectors.
These have been tested on another htc one phone.
I have noticed that the motherboard connecter is damaged..... i will try to get some pics up later today.
Thanks
Hey guys.
I bought a used Xperia Z today.
The seller changed the screen and the battery, and the phone was pretty much cheap(130$).
But now,I have a issue with the LCD.
The exact same one this video shows:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DoAF3Ry-CsM
Now,I dont know if it is software related(highly unlikely) or a hardware issue, but could it be that the seller connected the screen improperly?
The back cover glue is bad,so I can check it out,and I will, after the phone recharges.
My thoughts are that I have to get a new screen. Am I correct?
I will wait for the phone to recharge, and then I will try upgrading it to Lollipop with FlashTool, and if that wont work,I will open the phone and look for the issue.
Hello, did you fin a solution for the problem ? I have the same issue.
