I'm a little confused on the FM Radio on the Sprint Nexus 6. Sprint's description of the phone says it has it built in, but when I download the NextRadio app and it says FM Radio is Unavailable.
Is there something I'm missing on activating this or should it just work right out of the box?
Thanks and have a great day!
Don't know why or how or how the Sprint model could have different hardware from the GPS or Moto-direct models. AFAIK no N6 has built-in FM radio.

Hello!
Just installed cyano 6 N1 on a nexus one that I got from Videotron here in Canada.
The thing is that now ive lost 3G network, with the radio firmware update FRF50-radio-4_06_00_12_7.zip.
And I got me there, I lost my damn nandroid backups, thus having fun trying to get that "stock" radio firmware back in.
Anyone can provide me with the stock OS + Radio that works with Videotron, I think they are on 1700mhz aws band.
There is no difference between the radio software on the 2 different models of the N1, it's the same for both.
Have you checked the APN settings to make sure you settings are still there, I've had to add mine manually when installing CM6.
that did it
Well you got it, there was no APN in there.
It work now, I found the apn info using google
My question is that i have a Sprint Galaxy tab. I won it and dont plan on ever activating the 3G portion of it (no need to when i have free hotspot on my phone). My question is that since i dont need the 3G radio, can i flash a GSM rom? I would assume most things are the same inside besides the radio? Basically i want to flash CM6/7 and try it.
Just realized i posted this in the wrong forum. Sorry, please move if needed.
No. You are on the right path, but not the radio that's different. The antenna that receives the signal is different. CDMA antenna cannot read the freq range of GSM Antennae.
Right, and i dont care about CDMA or GSM reception. I'm using it as a wifi only device. So can i flash a GSM rom if i dont care if i lose cellular reception?
FM radio for Australia
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
hi all
i installed this DEV_FM_ANTENNA_INTERNAL.cab , looks like its working??????

this is only to have radio without headphones... try change radio settings in Settings - Applications - Radio
thanks for that.... yes changed region to WORLD, and works.
but turned radio on very very bad reception all i get is static, cant get any reception.
any way thanks again
for better signal you must remove this internal antenna cab and use headphones as antenna
Does anyone know if this ANT Radio Service app
"https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsi.ant.service.socket#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDIxMiwiY29tLmRzaS5hbnQuc2VydmljZS5zb2NrZXQiXQ"
(Can't post direct links yet)
will allow the Bionic to operate with ANT+ devices.
I am running with a rooted stock ROM and enabled my radio to run on GSM fro my Bionic.
The WiLink7.0 chip is capable of ANT+ yet it is not active.
Hi,
Got a Droid3 from Verizon.
Wifi signal is too low, it was too low for mobile network too, but changing the ro.mot.phonemode.vzglobalphone from 1 to 0 solved the problem.
Wifi signal still low, can't find anything on forums or general googling. Only found same problem for Galaxy 2, but no solution yet.
I Have 2 routers, both with high gain antennas, 150mts coverage, with this phone I get signal only few feets close to the antenna...
Trying to find out what's going on, found some strange facts:
Getting out the battery there is a sticker that says XT883
Opening "about phone" it says "System Version 5.7.906.XT862.Verizon
How can I get wifi hardware info? Can the difference of loaded sys version be the reason of... for example not matching wifi drivers?
Thanks
Ok... reading posts found that the XT882 and 862 are exact same devices.
Is there anything to try to check wifi adapter condition or just send back the phone?
The 883 and 862 are the same. It sounds like you got a refurb that used to be an 883. The only difference is that they don't use the CDMA part of the phone but use a RUIM in China for CDMA through the SIM card slot and the radio allows for the US GSM bands where the Verizon radio doesn't.
