Hello guys.
Its 2 weeks now since iv bought this moto g2.
I have noticed that once in 5calls i have been hearing echo
And some different voice quality during the call.
Is my device faulty or is there any setting kindof thing
Thanks
You're not using a headset are you? Also this used to be a big problem on some carriers, ie. AT&T. Have you rebooted your phone since you had the problem, if not try that. The reason I asked about a headset, if it's not fully seated, it can cause an echo.
I never tried the headset... I use the headset v rarely..
I'm in india and I'm using airtel.... One of the best networks in india.
Usually sound quality is not bad but this echo thing..happens once
In 5-6 calls.. V irritating at times when I'm on an important call..
I almost spend 3hours a day on calls on my moto g2
Same problem here, I have a moto g 2014 XT1068 since december.
Everything was fine the first days I had it, but lately people I was talking with started to complain about this echo issue. They hear themselves voices.
I've tried everything but nothing works, sometimes it just disappear.
I even flashed 5.0.2 soak test to see if it was a software issue, but echo is still alive!
I don't have any problem with Hangout or Skype calls.
Is there a way to fix that problem? Like, a way to change mic settings?
Still noticing echo during calls , not exactly echo but Disturbance and changed quality of voice during calls
Plz help
OMG thought it's only me!
Do you guys still have the echo problem?
I also have that echo problem.
I don't know when that happens, and it's very rare. Today it happens on my second SIM wich is on 2G.
Do you also have the problem with the second SIM and 2G?, or happened to you also with the first SIM and/or 3G?

the caller on the other end said that it is clear on their side however on my side (tilt) i hear my own voice echo on every call. its not very bad, but not acceptable either
has anyone else had this problem and a fix?
I have the same problem. Sounds perfect with a bluetooth headset,,, but horrible with just the handset. Hopefully it can be fixed with software, because as it is now my 8125 had much better call quality.
i am having the same problem, i am on the tilt rom. what rom are you using? is it just tilts or all kaiser?
if kaiser is fine i will just put a the kaiser rom on it.
It seems as if the phone was doing that the first 3 days, and now its completely stopped doing it. It is the tilt rom, with a lot of add on programs. Im not sure if it worked it out itself, or if it is because of the programs on it though.
This used to happen quite often on my 8125 and was so loud I could not hear the other person. It now happens very rarely on my 8525 and not nearly as pronounced. My mom has also experienced it on her flip phone.
I always thought it was a network problem with AT&T.
I also get this on the handset.
Tilt, no EXT ROM cabs installed, just a few apps.
its happening on my tilt tom
I have this on my Dutch Tytn II but only when i call one particular number. Figured it was my friend's phone, but you guys make me wonder ...
Ditto. I am hearing alot of feedback. What makes it worse is that my wife also has the Kaiser, and has the same echo problems.
I just returned my original Tilt to the store.
New model has the exact same issue.
I do hear my own sound, sometimes not all the time. Is it the AT&T service or the phone
I had this when I first got my Tilt. After flashing the Kaiser ROM, it was gone.
Have a tilt, and also have this problem....
i have a tiny echo. annoying all the same.

Usually it's a network problem. I had it on and off with a variety of Verizon phones, usually when signal strength was weak.
Haven't had it yet with AT&T, but I'm sure it's a matter of time.
I just had a thought. This may be the side effect of a "feature".
On the Hermes you could not record both sides of a conversation when using the recorder in notes. If I recall (correct me if I am wrong) you could only hear your side.
However, on the Kaiser (I am rocking a Tilt) I just tested it and the recorder, sure enough, picks up both sides.
Just a thought.

solutions?
I have the same issue. I just got my tilt 3 days ago, heard the echo of my own voice on calls so I took the phone back for another and the echo is still there. Has anyone found a fix/reason for this yet? This thread died down about 2 months ago... are people still having this problem?
My guess is the network problem, I have the TytnII on T-Mobile network USA. And I have the same problem once a while.... but usually is at a weak signal place.....
I have the same problem with my razr phone. Wonder if we all have AT&T for service?
I have in call sound problems.
When I reboot I can sometimes place one call without problems for as long as I want.
Other calls after that I have no sound, can't hear the call tone and other parties can't hear me.
Also incoming calls, i hear the phone ring but when i answer the other party can't hear me and i can't hear the other party.
The settings for sounds in the accessibility menu and noise reduction etc were off and stayed off. (other forum tips)
I also tried numerous factory resets with no avail
Can someone give me a hint how to fix it?
I have stock 4.2.2 International version of the S4 Active.
Baseband I9295XXUBMK2
Build JDQ39.I9295XXUBMK2
Kernel 3.4.0-2015525
Headset
I tried a different option. I can call with my bluetooth headset.
When i switch to speaker the in call sound drops. giong back to headset will not activate in call sound.
Same Here
The same happens to me. Only the bluetooth option works every time. I have tried several firmware and kernel versions and nothing has changed.
There is a workaround that I could find but it is totally impractical: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2371034
In forums for models / ROMs with a lot more users than this one (Nexus / CM) people with 4.2.2-based firmware versions there are many posts describing what could seems to be the exact same problem, which they have been able to fix via baseband updates or custom patches, but that does not really seems to be an option for the S4 Active...

Same problem with my SGS4A. I was on i9295XXUBMK2, tried to update using the phone update option, which rendered my phone unusable. Flashed new stock ROM i9295XXUBMK3, now I can use the phone, although sound problem persists.
Making a call: reboot, call
Receiving a call: answer, hang-up, reboot, call back
Anyone with 4.3 that has this problem on SGS3, SGS4 or SGS4A?
Edit 21.8.2014
I had the speaker changed last week and so far no problems. I am slowly getting confident that I can rely on S4A as a phone also, not just tiny surf tablet.
I have same phone, never got this pb. However I got some SD card issues after updating to KitKat...
Partial solution... for me at least
Hi guys ,
having same issue, disabling 4G option solves my problem. But it-s impractic cause I want to use the 4g... in a huawei phone I solved same issue by disabling an option of "mobile data always on"
Don't know how it's related...
Same issue for me. I made lots of research with no results. Nobody knows...
same problem here with no solution yet

same problem with in call and out call .... searched a lot about solution and no solution yet
I had a similar issue with bluetooth calls. First call would be fine, but after that I couldn't hear the other person on the line and they couldn't hear me. It turned out to be some kind of incompatibility with the Google "OK Google" detection with Galaxy S4-based phones. If I disabled it from detecting "From any screen", this seemed to correct the problem. However the setting might return on application updates. I would recommend trying that and see if it makes a difference. If it's not that, then I don't really know how to help you. I moved on from that phone over a year ago and have been happier ever since.

That is usually due cell to cell anomalies, radio interference & the like. Not the phone. Have you reversed the call for example?

I have the same problem.
I could hear their voice loud and clear, but they could not hear my voice properly.
The other person I talked to always hear their own voice.(echo back)
The problem becomes worst when the phone is in a loud speaker mode.
However, the problem is not seen if I used headphone.
I have tried factory reset, I have tried manually reflashing the sytem images using flashboot, but still the problem persist.
I'm gonna give it to service centr in the coming days.

Hi, any news regarding your problem? It seems I have same issue, after replacing my LCD screen. I would like to find some solution.
Echo is a ''normal'' ting not a device bug.
There is an echo on every call. Echos are caused by feedback in devices that take two wire signals into 4 wire signals, that is a telephone. Even when you talk you get echo, from your head and objects around you.
So why are some echo okay and others are annoying, it is the delay between the spoken signal and the time that the echo returns. The brain cancels echos that return within a small period of time. If that time is exceeded then the line has to have an echo canceller added to the line. The echo canceller takes the original signal and at the appropriate time sends the signal back 180 degrees out of phase with the echo, so it cancels out the echo. That only works with a known delay. The person that mentioned loading coils is correct as on your local line there are no echo cancellers, so a defective one (very occasionally and not the most common cause) would be annoying. With traditional telephone networks the known delay on a long distance call will allow echo cancellers to be on the end of the circuit over the distance, when they fail then they need to be repaired.
The delay on cell phone calls and VoIP calls can be variable and the echo cancellers do not work if the delay is variable. The technology could be there but would be too expensive to put into the equipment for all but the most common delay length.
So if it is a land line to land line call even over long distance report it so that the problem is fixed. If it is on a VoIP or a cell call (at one end or both ends) then it is more problematic and you can report it but it may not be able to be fixed. Sometimes there is a route that has a lot of data and voice mixed and changing the voice to another route can fix the problem if it is reported by enough people.

Hello . I am long time follower of your forums but now i decide to make an account cause I got some troubles with my Note 5 .
I have a Note 5 model n920-c (Arab Emirates) but I live in Romania .My problem is that from time to time when I make or receive a call, the in-call sound from my ear-speaker is high-pitched almost screetching(but still manageable and understandable) ....
If I put the call on speaker the sound is normal...
This is happening to me only 2-3 times a day and it seems to happen only with calls made in my network(ORANGE RO)...In every other calls(whatsapp , facebook , skype) the ear-speaker sound levels are just normal...
Just to mention I also fave HD voice active for my network calls...
Its is a network provider issues ?Is it a hardware issues?Did some of you experienced such thing on your unit?
Happy to be a part of your forum from now on ! Looking forward for answers
Not even a tought? :crying:
Same problem here. Also n920c and also on orange ro. Problem apear when i call on orange and vodafone. And another problem today: while on lte i have full signal, i can call without problems but when someone tries to call me enter the voicemail. Switching to 3g solves the problem. Switching back to lte the problem reapears. Some ideas anyone? Thanks
