On Verizon, was streaming video on LTE not Wi-fi and simultaneously receiving text messages. There was no interruption in streaming on LTE. How is this possible? I cannot use LTE and voice simultaneously yet, but isn't the CDMA radio for calls and texts the same? Why does SMS work while using LTE, but voice does not?

Any one else loosing LTE data and droping to hspa while on a call. Happening to both my vivid and skyrocket.
Located in Houston, Tx
The reason for this is that, currently, LTE is data-only. Until LTE providers begin to deploy Vo-LTE (Voice over LTE. Basically VoIP, on and LTE network), the only way you will be able to engage the voice stack on your hardware and access data at the same time is if you fall back to UMTS, which has always integrated both services (voice and data) together.
Unlike Verizon lte, art lte uses circuit switch fallback. Can't do hspa and LTE at one time.

THAT SUCKS ATT!!!! I have to talk & use internet on the HDSPA+ network....it seems so slow. Am I the only person this happens to?
It happens to *everyone* because that is the way it works. Notice that every time you make a call the "LTE" tag goes away....and stays gone until you hang up and the phone reselects back.
There will not be any LTE voice until an IMS is up and running...

I know its data only. But dont see why it has to drop off. I have been playing with the build.prop. And it has
#device supports simultaneous 1x voice + LTE
#ro.config.svlte1x=true
So i guess at one point we will have this ability.
This phone only has one radio built in and can't run on both UMTS and LTE at the same time.
I think that setting is referring to a Verizon type LTE device. They have two radios and don't do CSFB like the Vivid/Skyrocket.
Each phone type has it's own pros and cons.
Anyone experience on 5.1.1 no LTE on outgoing calls. But all incoming calls keep LTE so I can talk/data. I have done the #*#* thing and toggled the Enhanced 4G LTE....this is on Veriozn with the Google Nexus 6...
Any thoughts or solutions?
when I pick up the phone my phone says 1x and I dont have data. i have hd voice enabled. I had hd voice enabled on my lg g4 and my nexus 6 and could use data while on a call
Enable VOLTE on your phone and MyVerizon. VOLTE must be anabled on each phone.
This is an issue with all new phones. They only have 1 antenna (older phones had 2, one could use data, one could use to make a call) so, you can only be connected and use 1 service, either data or talk. Advanced calling, HD voice, VoLTE...whatever you call it, that is making a phone call over data on your 4G network and thus you can use data at the same time as its using a data connection to make the call. But if youre in 3G, it uses your antenna for a cell call and no data is available then. PLUS....if you're on a HD 4G VoLTE call and switch to 3g (leave the 4g signal), your call with instantly... Drop. The idea is, in 5-10 years, they will turn OFF their 3g network and it won't matter.

Hi all,
I am very new to my Note 5 Sprint version. This is on Virgin Mobile Canada
I have been unable to make or receive phone calls while on LTE. When I switch the preferred network to GSM/CDMA, I can make/receive calls but I cannot get onto LTE, stuck at 3G
Can anyone help me on this one?
Regards
With AT&T shutting down it's 3G network in a few months I was wondering if anyone had been able to get AT*T's voLTE (HD voice) activated so we can still make voice calls on the network. I have the AT&T model (and am using a tracfone AT&T sim), and "search" in the settings does show an entry for "enhanced LTE services" but selecting it just takes you to the same spot as the "more" entry and there is nothing useful for voLTE. When making a voice call data drops out of LTE, down to "4G".
Using a t-mobile sim (via tracfone), defaults to voLTE, verified also by surfing during a phone call, and LTE symbol staying on the whole time.
Hmmm weird, I can get voLTE with another AT&T MVNO (unreal mobile) by default, with no issues (also tested by surfing during a call and having LTE symbol stay on). I was not aware there could/would be differences in voLTE support among MVNOs
