Hi
Well we do allow "Bounty" threads but they need to be clear and have specific goals:
The developer needs to be made aware, approve of the action, and post in the thread
In the same post as above, the developer should detail his intentions once the device/software/product/etc is obtained, and if possible a rough timeline.
The developer should have at least one or two major contributions to the community under his belt before any large donation thread is made,
There should be a clear statement from the developer and/or the thread starter that there is absolutely NO obligation on the developers part to release a final product.

Replay:
He got a lot big contributions: NEW GPU FOR G NEXUS-witout that galaxy nexus wont able to boot from 4.4+
Ported 3.4 to other tegra3 device
Almost no developer left on community, we will refresh things.
He is here to help us proting new 3.1 and to bringup 3.4
I'd be glad to help you guys, if I can get my hands on this device if someone could send me a spare one, that would be awesome (or I could buy one for about $100 locally).
My plans would be:
- bring up grouper's kernel to nv-3.1 (like I did on the Galaxy Nexus, with omap-3.0)
- become your CM maintainer, as I see it's not really maintained
- try to get 3.4 working
Proof of my previous work...
nv-3.1 kernel
nv-3.4 kernel
I'm their omni maintainer
Unfortunately, I no longer have access to that device (never had, used my father's one to mess with it, it was fun!), so I can't work on Tegra 3...
My Galaxy Nexus work: 1, 2 (first rom with the new shiny kernel + gpu driver), 3, 4 (I'm our CM maintainer), 5, 6...
nice so noone is interest as i can see -.-
I think not lot of people watch in general thread try posting in original development.

I could try, as I have all the equipment needed for it (I'm using it on another device). Although I was able to get USB working without an UART cable on the A510/A700, since not much changed USB-wise between 3.1 and 3.4 /)
I have received an $5 donation for grouper. If I reach about $50, I may be able to buy one from eBay, or some bad condition one locally or I could give it to the one who offers me a spare one.
As i can see nobody care about this or eaven this tablet. Im stating new KANG project next weakend.
I just received another $30, now I can almost buy one of these so I'll watch out for a good offer and buy it if I find one

I just sent you 10€ (round about 11,35$). I'd really love to see this kernel fully ported on my good old grouper, so I can use it for at least one more year [emoji6] [emoji106] So if I'm right you almost have 50$. I hope that's enough [emoji16]

Good luck all for the kernel project.
I know @Ziyan from the galaxy nexus threads and his amazing work he bought to us there.
Fantastic to see you here helping out to bring another "old" device back to some more life.
I just bought a grouper in nearly new conditions from eBay Kleinanzeigen for 70€ including a case. Now I am following your work here on grouper forum.
May this kernel work w/ tilapia?

This is the internal alpha of our team's last effort, first of all its an alpha build, so dont expect it to be a day to day use rom, theres a lot of bugs/issues so many its useless to post them here lol, main issues that pretty much halted the project were these two:
1.Phone Service crashing on wcdma bands.
2.Htc lockscreen call gets delayed by 5min or more.
No one on the team manage to fix these two and so everything just went to a stop cause of this, sorry if people got disappointed but we all tried our best, with these been said please follow this rules after downloading the internal alpha:
1.Do not report bugs
2.Do not make post like "its laggy omfg" "my raindeer dint come for xmas cause of this ****ty rom!!" "dad grounded me cause of downloading romporn" "oh mah gawd bugxor rom no work bull**** ahhhh!" really we dont care at this point.
3.Dont flame us because we dint deliver a working rom...
Anyways download it try it, and if you feel like you can fix it then please do so, thats why we decided to release it, so that maybe someone out there can fix it, supposedly theres another team porting sense to the SGS devices, personally i haven't seen it, also if theres indeed one there assholes, for never contacting us or sharing ideas with us, i mean dont we all want the same thing?? but hey maybe they grabbed one of our alpha builds, and work't of that, idk and at this point i dont care, so anyways enjoy the rom.
Working stuff:
1.wifi
2.bluetooth(sort off..)
3.audio
4.sdcards
5.GPS(device goes nuts, dont ask why)
6.Charging
7.Hardware/soft keys
8.Restarting the device from power of menu.
Not working:
1.camera
2.phone service
3.HTC usb menu (can be fixed with a script made by dexter, and smali to some jar's)
4.Turning of the device
5.HTC's hibernate mode
6.Lockscreen( pressing power to bring the phone from standby will not get a lockscreen after like 5min, plug the device to usb cable and it should bring the lockscreen up)
7.Other things i might have forgotten.
Credits, in no specific order!
Whosdaman, for bringing everyone together.
Dexter_NLB, for fixing almost all the hardware on the rom(awesome job bro)
kaik_343, for fixing/helping me on the captivate port( appreciate all your help bro)
Barakinflorida, without hes initial work non of this would have happen, so major thanks to him and his outstanding work.
Mssmision, advising me and kaik regarding the port( again thx for all your help bro)
Jamezelle, for also giving us advised regarding the port.
My self, for working on the captivate port lol(awkward)
All the other team members that one way or the other made the port be were its is now.
MOD's please delete the other thread, it has a pre-alpha useless build, this one is the latest alpha we had for GSM models.
Video thnx to glukosio

I can try to help to get some of the main problems ironed out, all of my roms are Sense builds so that's all I know anyways. Just got a Vibrant yesterday let me know if I can help. By the way, have you guys tested a stock Desire build? They are quite a bit lighter than the new Sense and seem to have less problems.

SHOOT.!!! looks like one of our good dev and contributor STEFAN was gone for good on XDA.. So SAD i'm one of the users who uses his ROMS.. so what now?? all the links of this rom is going to be dead, OH NO.!! Hope it's not too late to change STEFAN'S mind to stay..
THANKS FOR ALL THE HARD WORK ON THIS COMMUNITY.. :highfive:
As Stefan's thread got closed, I just whabted to post reply here to his proclamation about him leaving xda...hope op won't mind
I'm so sorry to hear this as you have done so much for our community
All I can say is that I totally understand and support your decision, as I know how do you feel right now. We are loosing a great developer (I don't care what other devs say/said, you are and always will be developer), but you should take care of yourself and think first what is good for you and your mental health
Nevertheless, again I would like to say BIG THANK YOU for all your work, ROMs, tweaks, your constant will to help users, your hard work with other developers...
I sincerely wish you all the best

Sad to hear this news,I have using Stefan's rom & kernel for very long time...Stefan is a very amazing developer IMO.
Well, since there is a thread about this now, I'll move my post from the offtopic...
Seeing Stefan leave XDA made it a very sad day for me, and I am sure for a lot of other people... I am not judging anyone in particular, and I do respect Stefan's decision (although I really hope he overreacted, and it's not final), but if what Stefan has been doing is "not proper for the community", then screw such community!
I am far from thinking that anyone would care much about what some noob has to say, but I am saying it anyway. This is so not cool, folks...

I totally understand his fustration about this: (I'm not going to tell who posted this to Stefan, everyone will find it out other ways)

@Stefan your way of developing and communicating with other devs is not proper for XDA community

I highly encourage everyone to have proper git and well documented commits. If you dont do it, there arise two possibilities.
1. Either you dont know what the hell you are doing with sources OR
2. You are not a proper developer with xda spirit

Let's think about whats wrong here?
1. I think everyone liked P990 ROMS/KERNELS that he does?
2. I think no-one get angry of his jokes about "P990-ICS leak hype"
3, Is there REALLY any P990 DEV that good and fast than he was?
4. If this is really so serious developent here, i think it's time for many many people to conside leaving this forum
We will be missing you Stefan

No way!!
I can't beleive this! After silently reading in order not to ask noob questions, I never registered... Today I registered specially to thank Stefan for his great and noobproof work! Opening his thread about his Stock ics rom I was shocked!! IMHO Stefan along with Tony P make this community accessable to new people who want to know more about their device!
I think Harsh did a bit too much credit to his nickname!
So Stefan... I think you will be reading this... Thank you!!! And if you do reconsider... I will be looking forward to your posts!
By the way... I loved your work on the ICS stock Rom, but since yesterday I am now enjoying your 'Goodbye Rom' very much. It is indeed the best Rom I've used on my optimus 2x!! Too bad the name for that Rom is so appropriate!
goodbye!
A gratefull Noob

... and I don't think he'll reconsider... like he said, free development is supposed to be fun... if you're developping and helping for free and you have people complaining that you have to do stuff their way... why continue?
I know exactly how he feels... I'm also a developer and I constantly have the client complaining that I don't use the "right" identation, which means, I don't do identation the way they like it... but I'm paid! So I oblige. If I wasn't I would tell them to stick it where the sun don't shine.
Damn, during nightshift reading this "sudden dead" of Stefans contribution to the users
I'am gonna mis his contribution
All devs working on kernels and roms should share experience and tricks to make better roms... either selfmade or "stolen" (open source and WWW search).
Credits should be made to sources when develope or use them PERIOD
Creating roms etc. means also administration for keeping the used sources and that alone could be a pain in the *ss and very time consuming so i understand devs or very advanced users who lost track on the sources he used during tweaking them.
That leaves less developers for us but there are still enough for making us happy and at the end ICS or JB wil come to our great phone.
Thanks Stefan x1000000

Original devs would be proud if you use their code in your kernel, they will not stop you to use their code in your kernel if it benefits end user. But proper documentation using commit is a good gesture of saying thank you. I know you get lots of donations, but did you ever share a donation with wkpark or other dev whose IDEAs you are using? Well I am not against Stefan, it was just about his way of putting up sources. Why dont you guys understand.
It was never about ROM, it was about kernel Source only.
And I am never jealous about anything, I have even refused some of donations by PayPal not accepting. So keep this to yourself.
And I am not gonna apologize for something I did not do.

* CyanogenMod's latest merges: http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/q/status:merged+branch:cm-12.0,n,z
* CyanogenMod's Github: http://github.com/cyanogenmod
This is a kang of CM12 with cherry picks from CyanogenMod’s Gerrit Instance, compiled by a group of volunteers that enjoy learning about and building CyanogenMod and Android in general. All credit goes to cyanogen, #teamdouche and the coders who submit to Gerrit. Thank you to @RyanMacG for providing Euroskank hosting.
These builds are bleeding-edge, most comparable to a nightly build, and are not meant for inexperienced users. Things will be broken and crash from time to time, you need to accept that this isn't stable by any means before flashing. Nandroid as often as possible.
How to post useful, informative bug reports:
Sometimes dev's actually check out our threads, or sometimes we have a good relationship with a dev or two. These bleeding-edge builds will have issues, and having good information on what's broken is great feedback before a feature is merged. Here are some good bug reporting tips:
* No bug reports while using custom kernels or add-ons:
CyangenMod's own bug reporting tool does not accept bug reports from people using non-stock kernels for a reason, so why should we? CM can merge changes to their kernel causing custom kernels to break things until they catch up. Therefore, please do not post any bug reports while using a custom kernel or add-on such as Xposed Framework. Post your issues with custom kernels in their own respective threads as they are the ones who need to play catch up. Any bug report posted in this thread should be while running CM's stock framework and kernel, as this prevents unnecessary clutter.
* Gapps are not a CM issue:
CyanogenMod is built to run without the assistance of Google's proprietary apps (gapps). Having issues with your Google account and syncing is a gapps issue, not a CM issue. Please do not post about any gapps related issues, just wipe data and try a different gapps package.
* Posting about the same bug every build:
Beating a dead horse with "bug X still isn't fixed" posts just adds unnecessary clutter and provides no help into actually fixing the issue. Some bugs take days to squash, some take weeks. Please don't report the same bug every time a build is uploaded.
* Logs:
Provide logcats when applicable. Use a service like Pastebin and put a link to the log in the post. Please do not post logs directly to the forum.
If these requests are too demanding, there's good news! CyanogenMod is open source, so please feel free to download the source code, compile your own builds volunteering your time and resources, then start a thread and run it however you see fit. All we simply ask is that people post good, reliable information that can be passed on to a developer that can actually do something with it, making CM a better product for everyone involved.

I've been waiting for this since I first turned my N4 on. So excited to flash this later
YES!!!!! Had these on my Gnex and my N7 now my N4 can join the party :highfive:
So did our favorite kanger actually get a N4 or are you compiling blind at this point?
Nice to see Euroskank here ... I loved the bleeding edge builds on my GNex.
Questio for N4 ... What 4.2 Gapps are people using?

Excuse my ignorance (came from a One X), but what would make Jellybro a good choice over running vanilla CM?
Also I noticed the dev doesn't talk much, how does he/she respond to user questions? :silly:

I am curious, because I have downloaded both of those Gapps packages. What is the difference between the two? Would it matter which one you use? Do they both provide the same options? Thanks.

Not positive. I know the one I posted is a Lil bit bigger by about 5mb. I've used both and didn't see a difference. I'll have to redownload the one from kk and see what the difference is between the zips

Here's the quote that used to be on their Home page not so long ago :
"kanger [kahng-ger] noun : A person with enough skill to compile CyanogenMod from source, but generally does not have enough coding experience to provide fixes or support."
So, in short : flash this if you know what you're doing ; you like, good ; you don't, change.
Euroskank team don't consider themselves as developpers, but, well, real kangers....all the diffrence is here.
At least this is my understanding, correct me if i'm wrong.
And what make Jellybro a good choice is : Builds everyday (almost), as CM, right ; CHERRY PICKS, of course : what's in early stage in CM's repo and not yet merged officially .....and the placebo thing : there's more butter in Skanky stuff :silly:

I am really happy to share my new project with you and contribute to this great forum. I have been developing this project for a half of a year and I have finished about one month ago. I am proud to announce you that I have finished Android Toolkit.
Android Toolkit is an app for Android device managment and modification. It has a built in ADB Tools, Fastboot Tools and custom recovery flasher and much more. There is also support for Remote ADB control. There is also Android ADB Backup/Restore tool and Root Exploit (only installs Superuser.apk in system). Currently, there are only 3 devices for recovery flashing and TWRP flashing is still in development.
A whole project was developed using C# and WPF technology. You need to have installed .Net Framework 4.5 to run this app.

Nice job Slovencek
great, just another root toolkit to help newbs not learn a single thing about their devices.
Yeah...good job!
But I agree....before using toolkits, new guys should learn everything manually. Its quite easy when you know what you're doing. And you have more control over everything.
I will test it buddy, u did a great job. Keep it up

New version coming
Thank you guys for feedback. I am developing new faster, and more powerful version of Android Toolkit. New features include real time command view, in the other words you will be able to see what is happening with your device in real time. Also, more devices are getting suported.
wait, you're only 14 and building applications in WPF like that? Nicely done. Looks good (I'm not at home and don't have time to try it out right now, but it looks good).
Great job dude. Keep it up. Always nice for people to have s simple and easy option.
Thanks!

?? I agree it allows people to not have to learn.. but the people who dont want to learn anyways arent going to we cant change that. He deserves a lot of credit for this.
With all the toolkits for my history of phones i never just used the kit and not bother to actually understand anything.. im sure a lot of people are the same way. Kits are great after you've learned how to do things like adb push and flash recoveries, etc ,etc..they save time plus!!! this looks really nice!!!

save time? it takes seconds to unlock your bootloader and flash a custom recovery via fastboot(the right way) and not via a toolkit.

credit for what? making something that there are a bunch of available already? or credit for making it easier to be clueless about what you are actually doing to your device? the only root toolkit that ill ever give credit to is the toolkit that goes through all the steps, and teaches you what you are actually doing to your device per step, and how to fix it if you mess something up. but it doesnt exist yet.
anyways, this isnt really about the op, its about root toolkits in general. kudos to the op for being able to make it nevertheless.

In reality...those that don't want to learn and use toolkits, are usually the ones posting " my phone is bricked" threads.
Not knowing how this stuff works is a bad idea. Unless you have money to burn on new phones.

i think you missed my "kudos to the op for being able to make it nevertheless". if i waa tired of helping people fix their phones, i wouldnt be here. besides for trinity kernel, the only reason im here is to help people. obviously you arent here to help other people, youre here to help yourself(which you have asked for help from other people before). anyways, adb isnt needed. you can greatly enjoy modding your devices(the right way) and never learn adb. heck, i dont know adb(ok, very basically). i dont even own a computer, desktop nor laptop. what IS needed to know is just fastboot. everything else besides initially unlocking the bootloader and first recovery flash doesn't need any kind of computer access, can be done without a computer.

Hi I'm __Top_gunz__ and yes I'm new here but visited this Butterfly S forum since day one that it opened. And I've read just about every post here to see why development never truly sparked. So I went on a man hunt on trying to find a dev that would constantly be supporting his or her roms that were released.
And after much searching I came across 3 potential dev/teams that could help put the spark of Rom development in our community.
1. Team Venom - A well formed team of smali developers who brings forth various tweaks to the HTC Sense world.... But we all know we have support by them up to 3.5.0. And we may not see support again from them ( No disrespect )
2. Android Revolution HD - who's supported by Mike. Who brings forth the most stable , and smooth roms to any device he supports. But he seems to be a very busy guy already and didn't even try to ask him if he'd join since he has a new m8 project.
3. Insertcoin - Which is I team devised of 4 members but are on the path way of being the only Rom completing with Viper. With all there tweaks included in there new 6thSense roms. And they constantly support their devices and the support nightly build of their sense roms.
And with after all that I decided to talk to a dev from Insercoin. @xXminiWHOOPERxX. Who is a dev who got insertcoin up and running on the " HTC Droid DNA " and has gotten insertcoin running on the " HTC Butterfly x920d ". And after talking to her via PM and hangouts she seem like she could be a very trustworthy person.. she said "if" she was ever to get the device , and after seeing the lack of support we have that she would try her hardest to get us AOSP, GPE, & Insertcoin on our device.
Now what I'm asking of " Butterfly S " users is to invest on bringing a potential good dev to out device. Now I already started a donation towards this dev and I am confident that this would be a good investment
For those who would like to talk to her more briefly contact her via hangouts [email protected]
Donations -
@__Top_gunz__ - $50
@__Top_gunz__ , I clearly stated in messages that if I was to get the phone I would try my hardest to help out the community as best as possible with GPE and AOSP. And if I got the phone and permission from team that I'd make insertcoin for the butterfly s. BUT I didn't say I wanted to achieve getting the phone via donations of xda users.

And not only that, you asking the community to donate to someone they done even know. Why would a community gamble on that?
I know I could do what I said via private messages. But I did say if I was ever able to get the phone I'd work my a** off... Please next time don't just make a post asking a community to fork up money to bring a dev over. It's just not right

I'm sorry if I have upset you, but after talking to you I was convinced that you would help this community with there needs. Again my apologies.

Glad to catch you on.!! I know absolutely were your coming from. But as far as I can see that this has happened and users donated money and it went to no one. And that's when development sparked for a short while and died down. AGAIN. why because most devs here didn't own the device ( no disrespect to devs here ) Yes I did say via hangouts and pm that I'd work my behind off if I was to ever get the device.
For example i said I'd try for AOSP because everyone loves the barebones of android. I'd said I could do GPE with a breeze but GPS would most likely be broken.. And Insertcoin I definitely could do. Ported it to the HTC Droid DNA and have it fully working and I've ported it to the butterfly (x920d) blindly... So I know I could bring more to this device but it is up to the users here. It's up to the users to want this.. but after what 100 views? No one commented so I'm not sure if they even trust anyone due to the past of this device

Well said, was thinking the same thing. How about we, the users who still have the phone, learn a little from the people that know how to build ROMs. Then we can make ROMs for ourselves and others here in the forum. Hey, I'm willing to learn! Teach me  pm me:good:.
It's fairly easy to build roms. But with this device having external sdcard you would have to be okay with using apktool and messing with files carefully.
