Thanks for tip.
I found what was wrong there - new kernel(C690X_14.4.A.0.157) was locking it.
After downgrading to C690X_14.4.A.0.108 it all worked.

Advanced Stock Kernel
Hello there gurus.
Being on a stock fully rooted kernel (14.4.A.0.157) flashed with FlashTool (unlocked bootloader), and thus with stock recovery (ie no custom recovery installed). I went to NUT''s most excellent site and made a “XZDualRecovery 2.8.2 Advanced Stock Kernel” by uploading the kernel.sin file which I got from the FTF file created with FlashTool. This creates a flashable.zip file meant to be installed from inside a custom recovery solution.
My question is then, if I extract the boot.img file from this flashable.zip, could I then flash this image using fastboot ( fastboot flash boot boot.img ) ?
Could I then use that solution to install a CM12 nightly build, which I assume would promptly overwrite what I just did instead of reflashing a CM12 boot.img and go from there?
Would I gain anything at all from doing this instead of just using the Z1-lockeddualrecovery2.8.2-RELEASE.installer.zip package?
I'm so confused now.
Can somebody help me ?
I start the install.bat and press 1 ( i have SuperSU ) and it says " Waiting for Device , connect USB cable now " but when i connect my phone ( C6903 ) i does nothing. I tried rebooting in flash mode and in fastboot mode but my pc does nothing. How am i supposed to flash the Kernel if it isn't working ? How do i make it work ?
Install.bat does nothing for a long time
Sony Xpeira Z1 C6903
BuildNr. 14.1.G.1.534
SU: SuperSU
rooted
So i downloaded flashable.zip and installable.zip and started install.bat and it says waiting for device please connect.
So i connect my phone and it does nothing.
I tried rebooting my phone in fastboot mode and also in flash mode.
It did nothing.
What am i supposed to do ?
Please help me ... i don't want to stay with Android 4.2
Problem with links
I try to download a file, but the page sent me to http://nut.xperia-files.com/filenotfound.php
link die ?
Is there a method for lollipop yet? I flashed a prerooted rom but didn't flash the recovery and just rebooted. I tried thw 2.8.9 installer but nothing happened on my phone (choosing method number 1)
Edit: Nevermind, I forgot that I reinstalled this laptop so ADB Drivers were missing. It still stops stops while transfering the files. It stops after the 6th file transfer.
ok i got a probably stupid question . .
i have z1 and its rooted with no reco0very installed..
if i install recovery and make a full backup and do a factory reset of the phone and install lolipop official , will the backup work if i go back and do restore of kk backup?
Installing the kernel in Lollipop
I had 4.4.4 rooted whitout any recovery, but then I installed lollipop via ota in my z1 c6902 locked bootloader. Can I install the dualrecovery in my phone without any problem?.
Im on 2.8.10 how to install xposed framework?
Do I need to edit/modify xzdr prop file? Or can I direct install?

Official Stock Firmware v3.2.79 => ROOT, Update : Su binary v3.0.3.2, Superuser v3.0.7 and busybox v1.19.3, Add : enables vibrator and adjust volume !
(There is no need to install busybox.apk or busybox installer.apk from market, busybox is already installed into /system/xbin/ - only for .ext4)
This ROM is only for SDE enable ( recovery) ....you can use it as a daily ROM...
These are the files you need :
- zImage => http://www.4shared.com/file/KXp8bLDa/zImage.html
- initramfs.cpio.gz => http://www.4shared.com/archive/6Y9sMqJ5/initramfscpio.html

- archos_3.2.79.ext4 => http://www.4shared.com/zip/dmrcBtJM/3279_updat.html
How install this :
- connect device via USB cable
- adb push archos_3.2.79.squashfs data/media/ ........for read-only /system
- adb push archos_3.2.79.ext4 data/media/..............for read-write /system and other stuff
- reboot into recovery , Recovery System-> Developer Edition Menu -> Remove Kernel ( for boot only to SDE) -> I Understand -> Ok -> Developer Edition Menu -> Flash Kernel and Initramfs -> copy zImage and initramfs into new driver -> Ok ! that's all
hi, If I have your archos_3.2.78.ext4, can I copy only archos_3.2.79.ext4 to data/media? Or for every new rom is always necessary copy even zImage and initramfs.cpio.gz? thank you

No, you have to flash zImage and initramfs.cpio.gz in sde developer menu each time. First, filename changed and it's hardcoded in initramfs, second, Archos bugfixes are also in the kernel so new zImage is required.
Thanks surdu_petru for taking the relay!

[email protected] sure is right....on the ather hand, every new firmware ( ex. firmware_archos_it4.aos) has its own boot image ( boot.img = zImage + initramfs) -used to boot devices and has its own flash files / system files which are grouped in an archive ( contains - libraries, aplikations, and other stuff ) - used to run system android , and all these are closely linked ....I think you can now better understand how to use them, and why ......

Good luck!
Downloaded the ext4 version and couldn't get it to work.
Only root through the ADB Shell functioned, anything else Superuser automatically got denied, even though in the Superuser app it was set to prompt.
Chmodded the su binary to 6755 and it started to work

First off Thanks very much surdu_petru for the work!
Please excuse my novice ability here, but...
I'm not sure if I did everything correctly, but I don't have root anymore. (i did with 3.2.78)
I did the adb push of the archos_3.2.79 to /data/media
then did the flash of intramfs and zImage from the beginning of this post.
I rebooted into developer and Root Checker says i don't have Root anymore?
Do i need to chmod the SU binary now to fix? if so where is the SU binary located in the filesystem? (i'm not sure how i would execute that command, via adb?)

OK! Try >adb shell chmod 6755 system/bin/su
Thanks!
I ran adb shell chmod 6755 system/bin/su, the rebooted into developer again.
In file explorer, SU is listed as Readable:Yes Writable:no and hidden:no
Root Checker Basic still says i don't have proper root access, titanium backup and busybox show denied in the log.
I broke it lol, maybe i need to try again from the beginning.

hi all,
I was running my TX with advanced kernel v4, rooted:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1922925
yesterday i installed Miui Security from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1663222
Then the root is gone. I checked that /system/bin/su and /system/xbin/su are still there but they are inter-linking with symbolic link when i view them with root explorer.
fixes tried:
When i use ADB push trying to replace them, it said "too many symbolic links encountered"
I cannot remove both file as i cannot su in ADB shell.
I booted into CWM recovery but ADB is not enabled in CWM.
I reflashed the flashable zip in CWM to gain root access with no error message prompted, but after reboot into system the SU files are still the same
I reflashed the kernel with flashtools and fastboot, still no change applied to the phone.
Any idea?
finally got it fixed...
I rewrite the updater-script in the CWM flashable zip for root package to force remove both /system/bin/su and /system/xbin/su and rewrite them back.
Thanks for watching...

Hmm thats strange....
Maybe you will need to reflash the rom to fix...

Is it possible that going in wrong direction or doing something somewhere wrong while installing Recovery will brick my phone ?

Ok well it seems there was some issue with my phone.
So I thought of repairing it first with PC Companion coz i wanted to be on safe side.
I was successful in repairing my phone.
Everything is fine. but after repairing I lost the root access.
That repair fixed everything.
Now I have couple of doubts which I think should be clear before I proceed for installing custom recovery and gaining root access
1) if I just flash the recovery using flashtool will that be fine? And then flash the SuperSu same way via flash tool.
2) I read in an article, the author there unlocked the bootloader, then flashed the Cwm recovery and then flashed the Doomlord's Advance Kernel with Cwm recovery.
My question is why did the author flashed the kernel again. Can't we just flash the recovery that's it?
And I guess to flash the Doomlord's Advance Stock Kernel unlocking of boot loader ws done? Is it true?
Thanks
Success is never final, failure is never fatal, it's courage that counts.

1- you cant flash recovery or superSU with flashtool, its used only to flash stock roms FTF
2- you can unlock the bootloader and then flash the kernel
But you tried to install using the installed that i gave you after repair the phone?

I didn't do anything...i was going to try your method of flashing FTF stock rom.
so i just connected my phone to pc and then opened PC Companion to make backup of my important files.
Then PC Companion showed me that there is update available for system.
So i just updated my phone, it showed me updates available may be because, i have already removed all the bloatware so i guess to install them again that update was showing up
I went through that update process, and my phone rebooted and every single bloatware was restored back to my phone added i lost root access
at this point of time i think my phone completely free from any issues so its good to start again.
Now i have to start again from the begining.
this is the article i was talking about.

I am very scared of bricking up my phone coz this phone is my dream phone and i have bought it working real hard and saving hell lot of money for it

Yes i have Teamviewer
Exactly what it says title. My phone is both I think rooted and unrooted.
I tried all the possible rooting methods, none of it are working. Only thing worked was unbricking the phone. Right now on stock 4.4.2.
Trying to use ioroot25 but phone get stuck when it does adb recovery reboot. Dead android with red escalation mark.
Kingroot total failure.
Ran I think ioroot5?; \

What should I do
GUYS I need help. I just did a fresh install of stock VS980 23A. the custom recovery still has showing me a red mark. But this time in fastboot, it shows UNROOTED Before it showed rooted
Does this mean my phone was 'half rooted?
Ok, I have honestly hit the wall. I don't know what way out.
Only way out I thought was if I could push the TWRP files via adb i could fix it to bypass the restrictions but I can't. When I try pushing loki_tool and twrp.img via adb using ioroot folder, I get "permission denied".
I can't access the stock recovery because from the Googling I did, the stock recovery is corrupted and requires custom recovery. How the hell can I get custom recovery in if I can't even access the adb root permission.
Yes I tried the 'su' in adb method, it doesn't even recognize the command.
Going to google if I can install TWRP/custom recovery for lg g2 vs980 using download mode.
Victory! All those lame ass tools, loki_tool, lg_one_click_root, iorootv25-1-2-3-5 version. None worked!!
But this bad boy did it! -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/orig-development/root-stump-root-lg-g3-sprint-verizon-t2850906

Did u try to install a stock based or aosp kernel? because, if you wanted to use an aosp based one, then you will be stuck in a bootloop.
