Hey Everyone
I have an S3 Mini, running the latest version of CM 12.1 (20151007)
I know there are a few bugs in 5.1.1
I have searched Google and xda but haven't had much luck.
I have approx.
1.6GB free space in my internal storage
2GB free space in my external storage
I'm trying to move apps to the SD card
I have tried the stock Method,
various apps to attempt to move to the SD card, or force the apps to move.
I have tried the settings in the apps to try different methods. force to SD, Link to SD, A2SD, apps to sd. (even root versions)
I keep getting an error saying I don't have enough space.
It will come up with the error no matter what the size, less than 1mb or 400mb +
I have tried factory resetting the device, nothing seems to work.
I can download fine to the SD card.
I don't really want to partition / format it... But I haven't formatted the SD card since before the device was rooted / stock firmware
On a side note since the update I have had an issue on two occasions with charging, tried 5 different cords, 3 wall sockets, a PC and the device wouldn't charge (happened suddenly as I took it off charge as I was going to my bedroom), till I factory reset the device then it charged perfectly, charger port in device is fine.
I have also tried erasing everything, dalvic cache, cache system data, reinstalling cm 12.1 from scratch. Excuse my spelling
I installed Android 6 using Andrei Măceș' cm_ovation zip file, and it worked fine. However, I made a custom zip on OpenGapps.org and was told I didn't have enough memory on /system to install it to the Nook HD+-- even though I had a 2 GB microSD card?
I then did the same on a 64 GB mSD card and got the same message. So it's not the card size that's the problem. I was able to install Google Play by making a 'pico' sized zip on OpenGApps, but would anyone know why the nano or larger versions wouldn't work? I created my partition on the microSD card using win32 disk imager and wasn't prompted for partition sizes that I could tell.
I believe it's to do with Marshmallow being so large- it's nothing to do with your SD, it's all to do with the internal storage that has been partitioned before hand and allocated for the OS. The play suite has to be accommodated in this storage partition to work and there isn't enough room.
I'll try to find you the link I aw but it wasn't something I fancied myself so I settled with Pico.
You can increase the system partition to 1G and shrink the cache partition. I use the REPIT script as well as a workaround due to the partition not being umounted properly.

Hope that helps.
I installed twrp and did a dirty CM13 installation over CM11. Everything was fine.
However, when I tried to install GAPPS I got an error that system partition is too small.
I noticed in the error description that for pico version of GAPPS only few MB are missing. So, I opened this partition in file explorer with root permissions and deleted obsolete fonts, TTS files and utilities. It gave me additional memory and GAPPS installation ran flawlessly.
Hope it will help.
My galaxy note could not access the internal sdcard even with root.
So this happened with RR rom when i was trying to download something in chrome, then chrome gave an error that i couldn't download because it couldn't find any path. So i open zarchiver and it says access denied.
Then i go into TWRP, did a full wipe with internal sdcard then a clean flash and the problem still exist.
Then i decided to flash xperia z ised rom and xposed, the problem gone. but after 10 minute the problem came back.
Hi @Floenum,
I have the same problem with RR rom, but only the very latest (stable) RR.... 5.8.5 build, on Nougat. Under version 5.8.4, the issue was fine and could access storage.
But if I did a dirty or clean install of RR 5.8.5, then suddenly, the Ext SD card disappeared within the OS. Any other version of the RR, before it, or any other rom from JellyBean upto Nougat, would work... except the last RR build. I was told it was my SD Card being corrupt, despite it working in TWRP and all other Android Roms, just ONE BUILD refused to work. If you install "FX File Explorer" and then choose the option to "CONNECT TO STORAGE" then that way it will work, and you can access that storage again.
That said, I also have the same issue as you with INTERNAL SD, when using Oreo roms.... Hence gone back to Nougat for now....

Hi. Getting frustrated with this problem. Can't find help anywhere.. I'm running Liquid Remix ROM, and I can only use SD cards as portable storage. I've tried a few, all work as portable, crash my tablet if I try to format to internal. I've tried with a 32gb sandisk and a 200gb sandisk. Same problem. They both work fine in other devices or if I use as portable in my t585. I'm lost on this one... Forgot to mention android 9.0.
Must be a real head scratcher... I'm running an adoptable 128gb card on a T-580 RR 9.0; works well. I'm surprised no one took this question up or knows about it. Good luck, wish I had more for you.
I am having the exact same problem on the 585, i have looked everywhere to find a solution but am having no joy. I am running Liquid Remix, i was going to try a different rom but been told the problem isn't with the rom, if it isn't that i have no idea, the card i am trying is a Samsung 128 gb but also tried a 32gb one.
I have had success with only certain Roms. I have tried the resurrection Remix 9.0 and 10 work good. Stock with root and adoptable storage add-on works and there is a process using certain tools that will partition the SD card to your preference of size currently I am running Rr10 opengapps nano magisk with a 128gb SD card partioned as half internal and half external. Fyi Root essentials helps with the setup of the SD card backup all data before trying anything
Bliss 12 has adoptable disabled and lineage 17 crashes as well as the ported rom for the 580/585 that is tw9.
please share your experiences with which Roms
Only tried Liquid Remix, I do think it's a rom problem, I tried Root Essentials and the minute I start to format the card it goes into the bootloop, can you give me a link to the Resurrection Remix pls. I need to try something else so the cash I spent on the sd card isn't wasted.
Thanks.
This link https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-a/development/rom-20191101-t3995513 Should get you started on the RR ROM for android 10. There are two problems being reported with this ROM, one being that you cannot boot while charging there is a fix in the same forum if you read towards the end. The second problem is a clicking noise I have not noticed it but it is being reported in different android 10 Roms.
On a side note . I hope bliss adds back adoptable storage it was a great ROM but no adoptable storage it sounds like liquid has no adoptable storage either.
If you want a ROM with no noticeable problems try RR 9 from this linkhttps://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-a/development/rom-20190123-t3892802. You should also flash the opengapps nano from December along with magisk or dmverity to stay decrypted.
If I helped you in any way please press thanks also press thanks to the developers as they do this for free in their spare time and happy flashing
Tried installing RR this morning, i installed the rom and tried it and it booted up ok, i then installed the Gapps and i ended up in a never ending load screen. I then decided to re-install liquid and now i am in a never ending load screen with that, i also tried the liquid Rom on it's own which booted up fine, so it looks like i am having problems with the gapps. Don't know what my next move is, i generally wipe everything before i install something new so no idea whats happening.
Hey all
I've successfully installed Lineage OS but the only thing I can't get to work, or find information on, is my storage. As a full wipe was necessary, it is 90% empty but when I try to download eg F Droid APK, the browser closes and taking screenshots is impossible (some examples). Right now I am using an external sd card to install some basic apps (this does work).
Does anybody know how to fix this?
Solved: formatted internal storage through TWRP
