Hi.
I have a VS980 and I tried to use my hands free without sucess.
When I plug a normal headphones, the hands free icon appears. That's not a problem but when I tried to use a hands free headset the headset's microphone doesn't work.
Do you know how I can fix this? Changing the mic flex can solve this?

Hi taz911
i had the same issue, its not a software problem, is a hardware problem, i just pull out the headphone jack out of the xperia, i dissambled.
my xperia has a hardware issue, some other owners only play with the metal stick inside the headphone jack and probably you can fixed it. i fixed that way once , but if you can fixed, i suggest you that dont use the headphone. try some bluetooth heaphone.
the mic stopped workins cause if says that you have the handsfree plugged in,so all the sound passes trought the headphone jack, you are unable to talk if the headphone icon appear in you xperia.
good luck!

I had the same problem several months ago.....Anyway itz not a software problem...so no need to flash your ROM...
Try plug-in & Plug-out the headphone several times(Mine got fixed this way)...& do have a check whether something got stuck inside the headphone port....
same here
hey guys.. im having the same problem.. the thing is, it happened to me before and putting in my headphones in and out solved the problem. but it happened again!. and putting in out the headphone isnt working anymore. any ideas?
Not sure to whom I should direct this. The issue I'm having is when using headphones with a regular TRS plug the onboard mic is disconnected. This makes sense as most people use headsets but it would be great if the onboard mic could be forced on somehow so I could keep using my favorite headphones. Right now I'm have to take my headphones off and pull the plug for calls.
EDIT: To be clear I'm looking for a software solution to my problem.
Anyone think it would be possible to cook up a script to force the phone mic on while using standard headphones?
Just wanted to check is anyone else is finding that headphones plugged into this jack often are not picked up by the phone and the speaker is used instead.
Happens both with my car AUX and my in ear Klipsch earphones, although if I jiggle the plug it sometimes works. The bundled headphones (MH750) so not seem to suffer this problem.
Is this a widespread problem or an issue with my handset?
the MH750 has 3 rings on the jack as a opposed to the 2 rings on the connector for your other headphones am I right? Having the extra ring on it (meant for the remote) may be what is adding the extra tightness when inserted. I'm not sure how to solve your AUX problem but you may need to try headphones which have a built in remote like the MH750 so that it has the extra ring on the connector. This may also be a defect, as I can not confirm since my device is still on it's way.
EDIT : After receiving the phone this happened to me once. You have to play around with the smart connect settings o disable it all together. It doesn't seem to be hardware related.
i have the same problem here .
Same problem

Hi,
Does anyone else has problems with bt audio. When I connect my Sennheiser px 210 Bt and press play, the volume is really high and all I get is static and it almost breaks my headphones. I have to turn bt off from phone and reactivate it, then it works correclty. Does anyone else have this problem or did I get faulty unit?
No issues here, using Sony Bluetooth headphones. Pairs fine with NFC
No volume issues with the kinuvo bluetooth module i use for my car. My problem is that the phone does not respond to the play button but does respond for pause (even though it's the same button)

I get the same thing. If you disconnect and reconnect (from bt properties on the phone, not the device itself) it will work but you have to do it everytime you want to use the device.
Download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.devmil.xperiabluetoothmediafix&hl=en_GB for a workaround (it auto disconnects and reconnects when you start the device so you don't have to do it manually).

I have Sennheiser too, but an older one, MM100. Plays very well every time, no noise or distortion.
So I haven't use the earphone for 2 months cauz I used a Bluetooth earphone. However its broken now which switch me back to use a wired earphone which I was using before I bought Bluetooth one. But it doesn't work anymore(I tested on other devices earphone worked fine), and what surprised me that is the earphone only worked one side(right) after I install an app to force my phone to switch sound to earphone mode but the other side just won't work.
Below are things I tried,
1)cleaning the headphone jack
2)resetting the whole phone
3) using other headphone
4) disabling mono audio in setting
Well they don't work, is there anything else I can do?
