Hello, recently I have bought an HTC one m7 sprint unlocked.
At first everything was fine and Sim worked good like usual.
Then I have inserted a microsim adapter with no Sim into the tray.. It got stuck I tried by force and allot of ways to get it out I couldn't make it..
I gave it to a local repair and they did get it out.
But they told me you be to buy a new Sim tray since it got beaten and bad shape
I order one of eBay and finally it arrived I have tried to insert a SIM into the phone and it did not recognize the sim I got worried and I don't really know if one of pins in sim inside the phone is broken even though I can see there is 3 Sim pins I have no idea what to do right now what should i do right now please help me I am stuck with this phone and I can't return it or do I get a refund or anything
but I can see that imei is shown and each time pop out the tray it says the Sim can't be recognized

looks like a broken contact, are you using the same sim card that was working before or its a new card? You could go at any carrier and ask them if you could test one of their sim card. But after reading your story, its really sound like a broken sim contact.

That is a hardware issue, so you will need to return it under warranty for repair. Hopefully, it is still stock. If you know someone with a similar phone, you might ask them to use their tray and if your sim is recognized with that tray then you just need a different tray. If not, then it is a hardware issue.

Yes I have used same one.. And two others didn't work..
They say that if you use some tape on the Sim it will work should I give it a try because I can see through the phone that one of the pins is slightly lower than the other two

would recommend to put anything on your sim, don't get it worse and send it for repair.

Like alray stated don't put anything on the sim card and force it into the slot. Can you take it to the shop that removed the original tray to see if they can repair the fingers?

No because the shop is like only for iPhone .. They did it for me as a favor.
And I've talked about it to them they said they don't fix HTC.

its when the moblie company are told the phone has been stolen with the sim card, they kill the sim but also block the phone the sim was last in.
so it stops people using ithe phone with any sim at all.
They are going to unblock it has it was a miss under standing takes 7 days.
just so people know has i have seen 1 or 2 people asking.

Sounds like you are trying to use an INVALID SIM or putting a SIM card in that is not working for some reason.
Does the SIM card you are trying to put in work on another phone?

Hello
Sorry for my English but I'm French.
I live in New Caledonia, I bought a Nexus One still packed on ebay (no other way to get one in New Caledonia) and I have a problem.
My Nexus one says "No SIM card", I tried with 10 different SIM cards and I have the same problem (I put in the right direction, I checked several times).
Is it possible that my Nexus One is SIM Locked?
Who knows?
It is no longer guaranteed as I unlocked the bootloader, I saw the problem after.
Someone also tried to repair it and opened it, so if I should send it for repair I know that I should pay, but is it a hardware problem?
I hope it is simply SIM Locked, it would cost me less.
There is no such thing as SIM lock on Nexus. Please search next time.
Nope, it should not be SIM Locked. Actually, it WILL NOT be SIM Locked.
Sounds like the SIM card slot could be going out? Try wedging a few scraps of paper up underneath the SIM card as you insert it to hopefully get a bit more pressure against the contacts.
Good luck!
Did you contact the ebay seller? Sounds like you bought a defective unit.

There's your problem.
If you want broken junk, ebay's a sure thing!
Back then to HTC.
Thank you everyone
This is weird...
i got 2 weeks ago a new galaxy s2 att and used fine for a week with a standard straight talk sim card that i cut myself to fit the micro sim port...
it worked fine for a week calls, internet message, media message, everything.
i was charging the phone on the wall one day and when i get it to make a phone call i noticed not sim card inserted error...
i cleaned contact reinserted nothing....i put in my wife phone sim card is perfect.
i sent my galaxy out for repair at the same time i got this great deal on craiglist an atrix hd for $100...
I inserted the same sim card and everything was fine untill yesterday....i got sim card not inserted error...ohmygod i said please dont tell me....
reset phone cleaned contacts nothing ......
My question is can a sim card damage the phone?
Both phone were rooted
Both phones were att provider using straight talk service
Both phones were 4g
I removed from both phones the att junk
Any of this they may have somehow locked the sim card port or damaged it?
It can not be a coincidence any expert can get a good answer?
I'm going crazy
I had the same problem back when I had my One X and my brother had the same problem with his Atrix HD because we cut down our SIM Cards. After I got an official Micro SIM the problem stopped. When you cut your own Micro SIM you stand the chance of trimming off too much. Even if its only a small amount it can still cause the SIM to move around which causes the connection loss.

You are not crazy , you just lack good logical reasoning . The common thing is the sim . I have no idea why you would send your phone for repair when the other sim worked perfectly . If sim port was damaged , it wouldn't have worked with any sim . Get a new sim , report the old one as lost . Ask for micro sim as the replacement or cut it with a micro sim cutter ( Available at most service providers cust service centers or buy one from ebay , they are cheap ) .

That's true , cutting with scissors can be tricky . However I cut my SIM with a micro sim cutter and everything is perfect for the past 2 months . Even if you go to some customer service center (atleast here ) , they do the same cutting with a micro sim cutter . I find the whole filling the application with giving my ID proof again and then getting the active connection in another 24hrs on the replaced micro sim very tedious .
I use microsim cutter which I bought only about 5$. It works perfectly. I can even use the cutting side to cover the microsim as mini sim again.
thanx friends, your answers gimme some hope that in fact is the sim card that does not make good contact.
still cant explain why when i insert other sim card inactive the phones wont read them at all...(.like this is another provider enter unlock code)
just i wish somebody of the experts here can assure me that the sim card can not damage the fone or lock it.
(of course i'm not talking physical damage at the pin point)
thanx
My phone was working fine one second and the next it said no sim card. I have ran the ruu, relocked and unlocked the bootloader, S-on then back to S-off (Not sure why). I even tried the tape trick with putting a piece of tape on the back of my sim card. All with no luck please help

Well, it is possible the SIM card just died, or the phone electronics supporting the SIM card died. In other words, hardware failure rather than software. I'd set it back to stock and get it fixed under warranty.

OK, that indicates hardware failure in the One. Yes, it is under warranty. I'm not sure if it is through ATT or HTC. Call ATT and ask.
Will do man, thanks!
Called HTC. Lady was really nice, mailing the phone out tomorrow
I got the same problem last night as well.
Took the sim card out and put back in and it works fine for now.
What a calamity of errors. Many my fault.
So I try to activate online and it fails. Doesn't say why.
Call them up and they said seems to be a problem with your SIM Card.
Now keep in mind my seal was broken. But I assume it just let loose in shipping.
I had the HTC One before this phone.
So I go to open the SMALL slot on the right assuming the small one was the SIM Card.
Nothing in there. Well no wonder they can't activate it.
Look in Box and the Card is there with SIM card missing.
Damn someone stole it, I'm thinking.
I asked can I go to store and get one, no. You'll have to send phone back (that I just put an $18.00 glass screen saver on).
So then I try my old SIM Card from HTC One. No it won't fit. So they are gonna send me another.
Hang up.
Then I thought I should see what's behind the Big Slot.
Dam there is the SIM Card. Idiot. Just never expected it to be in such a large slot, especially when HTC One wasn't.
Call Back. Still won't activate.
She says the SIM Card is activated on another line.
It was already tied to my wifes line that I used the upgrade on.
So she released it and all was good.
Just a heads up in case someone else activates on another line. I don't think anyone else on the planet would have made the other mistakes Long day.

They have them in "global" phones.
Not sure it was the SIM card that was tied to the other line.
u can use the one from your htc one og but you sure you looked in the right slot and not the sd slot?
I used my wife's upgrade to get my m8. I used chat to activate with no problems. Your Sprint representative must of been less skilled

I used another line's upgrade. I tried to activate on my account page and it failed. I then turned the phone on and it began auto activating so I shut it off immediately (since that person doesn't live in the same house). I did the Sprint Chat and it took the rep a few minutes but she finally got it activated correctly for me.
If you ordered it on her line, then booted it up. It will automatically try and activate on the line it was ordered for. So that was the problem... Should have just contacted them before ever booting it up to get it set to yours first. no biggie.

I never booted it until after I called them. It was a trivial issue in hindsight. I'm just giving others a heads up.
The same thing happened to me.
My suggestion speak to someone on chat, they seem to be more knowledgeable.
When i called customer care spent an hour and he was unable to do it.
When I did it in chat an explain what happened 15 minutes later I was up and running.

Bingo! Amazing how people don't realize LTE is a GSM technology and requires a Sim. Even the first LTE phones (EvoLte/GS3) has them. It's just the older lte devices weren't userswappable and were built in.
