Hello
Sorry for my English but I'm French.
I live in New Caledonia, I bought a Nexus One still packed on ebay (no other way to get one in New Caledonia) and I have a problem.
My Nexus one says "No SIM card", I tried with 10 different SIM cards and I have the same problem (I put in the right direction, I checked several times).
Is it possible that my Nexus One is SIM Locked?
Who knows?
It is no longer guaranteed as I unlocked the bootloader, I saw the problem after.
Someone also tried to repair it and opened it, so if I should send it for repair I know that I should pay, but is it a hardware problem?
I hope it is simply SIM Locked, it would cost me less.
There is no such thing as SIM lock on Nexus. Please search next time.
Nope, it should not be SIM Locked. Actually, it WILL NOT be SIM Locked.
Sounds like the SIM card slot could be going out? Try wedging a few scraps of paper up underneath the SIM card as you insert it to hopefully get a bit more pressure against the contacts.
Good luck!
Did you contact the ebay seller? Sounds like you bought a defective unit.

Well, it is possible the SIM card just died, or the phone electronics supporting the SIM card died. In other words, hardware failure rather than software. I'd set it back to stock and get it fixed under warranty.

The sim works fine in my DNA. I bought it off contract at AT&T, do I still have a warranty?

OK, that indicates hardware failure in the One. Yes, it is under warranty. I'm not sure if it is through ATT or HTC. Call ATT and ask.
Will do man, thanks!
Called HTC. Lady was really nice, mailing the phone out tomorrow
I got the same problem last night as well.
Took the sim card out and put back in and it works fine for now.
Hi,
I bought a second-hand LG P970h from someone.
I am a customer of carrier "X" (not real name).
I have inserted my sim card to the phone, but the phone did not recognize it. So I can't use it for calls, messages and etc.
I checked in the web and I understood that my carrier blocked the phone for use with its sim cards because the device was reported as stolen.
I tried to convince the carrier to open the device but I did not succeed.
I tried to insert to the phone a sim card from other carrier, and it's worked fine.
So... what can I do now ?
I want to stay in my carrier and to use the phone.
Is there any way to do that ?
I have read a little about UNLOCK Code... is that the solution ?
Thanks a lot.
Do not buy stolen phones! Your phone could be the next one.
I am sorry, but is not ethical.

The phone may very well have been lost or left somewhere by the original owner, or it may have outright been stolen. Either way, the original owner reported it as lost/stolen.
You have a lost/stolen phone in your possession. If your current carrier "called you out" on the issue, good for them! I'm glad someone actually tracks this stuff. Ideally the phone should be returned to the original owner, because he/she took a soaking on the cost of a replacement phone.
If you can find a carrier that doesn't care, then you'd better get a plan with them for that phone.
I'd also find a more ethical "someone" to buy used items from.
There's no bad on you at this point. You're not the first guy to get ripped off. But continuing onward with something that you know is probably stolen just isn't right.
It can be unlocked with technician
You would check phone thoroughly before buying..

operators in Brazil
use the phone lock code (sim card band)
That does not mean that it is stolen ...
to unlock the use of all bands sim card, needed a software that generates a code w / unlock permanent
some carriers do not release the software or request "note fiscal" ...
if enter the wrong code will often lock the phone permanently
sorry bad english

Hello, recently I have bought an HTC one m7 sprint unlocked.
At first everything was fine and Sim worked good like usual.

I gave it to a local repair and they did get it out.
But they told me you be to buy a new Sim tray since it got beaten and bad shape
I order one of eBay and finally it arrived I have tried to insert a SIM into the phone and it did not recognize the sim I got worried and I don't really know if one of pins in sim inside the phone is broken even though I can see there is 3 Sim pins I have no idea what to do right now what should i do right now please help me I am stuck with this phone and I can't return it or do I get a refund or anything
but I can see that imei is shown and each time pop out the tray it says the Sim can't be recognized

looks like a broken contact, are you using the same sim card that was working before or its a new card? You could go at any carrier and ask them if you could test one of their sim card. But after reading your story, its really sound like a broken sim contact.

That is a hardware issue, so you will need to return it under warranty for repair. Hopefully, it is still stock. If you know someone with a similar phone, you might ask them to use their tray and if your sim is recognized with that tray then you just need a different tray. If not, then it is a hardware issue.

Yes I have used same one.. And two others didn't work..
They say that if you use some tape on the Sim it will work should I give it a try because I can see through the phone that one of the pins is slightly lower than the other two

would recommend to put anything on your sim, don't get it worse and send it for repair.

Like alray stated don't put anything on the sim card and force it into the slot. Can you take it to the shop that removed the original tray to see if they can repair the fingers?

No because the shop is like only for iPhone .. They did it for me as a favor.

Hi guys, been trying to figure out what went wrong.. I'm on a unlocked T-Mobile note 5 using on ATT. Already on marshmallow, was trying out a couple of international roms which were working fine. Last thing I did right before I got the "Invalid SIM card/ Network locked SIM card inserted" notification was the security hack to bypass exchange thru Xtouchwiz xposed app. My sim is working fine on another phone so can't be sim. Anyone here have any suggestions? Thank you..

I've had this as a random problem. I changed my sim a couple of times for a new one and it seems to be ok for the last few weeks. I also added a bit of stick paper to the sim to hold it in place which seemed to work for a bit! I put it down to faulty sim cards and a highly sensitive phone.

Yeah I replaced the sim as well but no go. I called tmobile and they said that the phone was unlocked temporarily which sounds funny to me. Never heard of unlocking for just a period of time. So of course they said they would need to speak to the original owner of phone in order to unlock again. Obviously I'm the owner now the phone is not reported lost or stolen or blacklisted. I just think they don't want to help me because I don't have an account with them.

Most likely your phone is locked via the "Device Unlock App". If T-Mobile doesn't want to unlock your phone you can try this service:

Please mak sure to read the detailed instructions.
Hey guys, i have an issue with my mi5 (been running cyanogenmod/resurrection remix 6.0 versions) on it with dual sim Vodafone DE and T-mobile DE. after a few days my T-mobile Sim card died and i have to replace it.
I have been getting this issue with my old LG G2 running custom os (mostly blissrom either 5.1 or 6.0) as well, e.g. the T-Mobile Sim card getting killed after a day or two in the phone, which i than had to replace ( while in my htc one m9 running modified stock, this doesnt happen and the current card that died in the mi5 lasted over half a year in it without any issues).
Now i have found several posts on the internet describing exactly this, but for oneplus one/two, where its said that T-mobile DE had fixed this with the latest revision of the sim cards (C/W7), which i have as well and died.
a link to reddit about it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/comments/44qxyx/oneplus_devices_killing_sim_cards/
Apparently its an issue with MEC, where the card gets burned by the phone. Naturally at first i thought my aging g2 would be the culprit, but apparently its the SIM cards from T-mobile.
Now i was wondering, did anyone see this behavior as well (with t-mobile de simcards)?
Hello from Germany here.
Had exactly the same problem. What seems to help is a nfc sim card (v/t 7). You can call the support or go to a shop and get a new card.
Hmmm, interesting.....
My employer just changed from KPN (Dutch provider) to T-mobile.
Running it for 1 day now, and until now no problem.
But i could see that the sim looked different to the KPN sim and also different then my private Vodafone sim.
My employer will hope that this won't happen, because we have a lot of persons with dual-sim phones
Well, it occurs after about 6 weeks so the odds aren't that good.
curiously enough it occurred for me after 5 or 6 days. Before with the g2 mostly in like 1 day. I will go there today and ask them for the nfc sim. do i have to say something specific or just ask for it? Should i say i have a specific phone (op 2 perhaps) ?

so i was at the telekom shop today... one of the most frustrating conversations ever. They wouldnt give me a new sim card, cuz mine died and they couldnt send me a verification sms code to it... unbelievable, they called than the central so that they will send me one per mail... tried to explain them what th eproblem is, but it was like they never heard of the nfc-sim card or the different versions (e.g. c/w7 or v/t7), said it would be my luck if i would get a v/t7 version, cuz they cant know which one they send... i even showed them the thread on their forums... oh well lets get the new one burn it again and this time call myself telekom from home, try to get a more technically versed person at the other end...
The NFC Card is needed to pay with My wallet and things like that. Actually they should know about that. There is a thread where you can ask for a new one but now the problem is you already ordered one so they can't do anything before it arrives. If you want the link write a PM. I know it's really a pain in the *** and for me it was even worse because it was a company card.
