[Q] Chrome constantly crashes - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have an M7 running Viperone 7.0.2 and have been for quite a while.
Last night I got the message that chrome had stopped working and every time I try and relaunch it crashes again instantly.
Nothing has changed that I am aware of and I have tried uninstalling, resinstalling, wiping cache and wiping delvik cache. Nothing helps.
Can anyone suggest a fix or something else I can try?

Google Now Closes on CM10

I've been running the latest CM10 nightlies with no mayor bugs. I've been using CM10 for 5 days now and I've yet to experience the call bug, so this is just minor nuisance.
Whenever I try to open the latest Google Search, the app shows up, but then It hides in about 2-3 seconds automatically, no matter what I do.
I already tried clearing the cache, and reinstalling the app, but this behavior continues. I tried this also, but it didn't helped.
Anyone else having this issue? Any recomendations?

yes sir, uninstall google search update and clear cache and data after uninstalling. your google now will work again
Yeah it's probably a problem with the data. Clear cache and reinstall. To no sure you don't run into this problem again you should try repartitioning your phone to 512MB if you haven't already, so you have more space in your systems folder. I believe this will help Google now run more consistently

So the problem is with the update? I uninstalled it and it's working now. Any workarounds?

Problems with Google Play Store

Hey guys,
The other day I flashed an experimental CM10.1 nightly along with the most recent stable gapps for 10.1. Everything seems to be working OK, but the Play Store doesn't load at all. I've tried various things, including different WiFi networks, but nothing works. I can load web pages in both Chrome and the stock browser, so I think it's a gapps problem.
Any ideas? Does anyone know which gapps I should flash?

What exactly happens? Does Google Play open at all?
You can try flashing: http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip. Make sure to wipe cache and dalvik cache beforehand in recovery.
If that doesn't work, try heading to Settings>Apps>Google Play Services>Uninstall Updates, and Settings>Apps>Google Play Store>Uninstall Updates.
Good luck.

Yes, it opens, but immediately says "No Connection."

That's the zip I used originally. I didn't wipe the caches the first time, so I guess I'll try reflashing it.

I'll do that and post back with the results. Thanks for the help.

I was able to alleviate the no connection bug by flashing the gapps package posted above after clearing cache and dalvik cache.

I just cleared the caches and reflashed and it works perfectly.
Thanks again!

im getting problems connecting to servers on updates. clean wipe and rollbacks did nothing. working off the newest nightly released through goo. thinking i might have to do full wipe in order to restore, and not sure if that will even fix the problem. any tips?

first of all check your hosts file
At first I wasn't able to open the Play store at all. Reflashed with Gapps, cleared caches. Now I can open the store, but any time I try to update apps I get the error:
"Update for __________ could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-5:AEC-0])"
Any ideas?
EDIT: removing my gmail account and then setting it up again along with clearing the data for google play and services seems to have done the trick.

[Issue] com.android.wallpapercropper has stopped

Soo, I flashed a CM11 nightly build the other day and now I'm having an issue that I seem to be unable to resolve or find any information about. After a few days on the same CM11 nightly I tried to change my wallpaper and got an error message. "unfortunately com.android.wallpapercropper has stopped". I am also unable to upload pictures to instagram. I tried re-flashing a different nightly, wiping data, clearing cache and dalvic cache and even flashing a completely different rom. I flashed from CM11 nightly to Viper. I no longer get com.android.wallpapercropper has stopped, but now get "Couldn't load image as wallpaper". I've done every thing I can think of thus far. If anyone has encountered this issue, or may have a possible fix I would appreciate it.

I would start by clearing app cache and data for some related apps. Google Play Services, Google Services Framework is a good place to start. Then I'd go for Blink feed and possibly Gallery.
Old cache and data seems to be causing all sorts of weird problems since the last round of Google app updates.

I honestly don't think it's the app cache seeing as I've completely changed roms. I'll try it though.

Snapchat causes phone to crash?

I have Gummy ROM version M3.0-07-16-14-RELEASE-m7spr installed on my HTC One and I installed snapchat today, but usually about 10-15 seconds into the app, it'll cause my phone to reboot for some reason. I tested other apps and they work fine, so I think it's just snapchat causing this. Anyone else experience this or know a fix?

anytime you get an app that misbehaves like this the first step is go into settings/apps/all ..find the offending app and clear it's cache and data and see if it works .. next step is uninstall the app completely and reboot the phone and try installing it again.

Nope, uninstalling, reboot and reinstall didn't work. I heard of people having issues with their Nexus devices about this, and other phones apparently, but that was with 4.4.3, I'm 4.4.4. Not sure what's causing it.

I don't use it so i don't know
try clearing cache and data too, if that didnt log you out, then try to log out. reboot, if doesnt work then probably will have to wait for snap chat to update and see what happens

I've seen people say that turning on logcat helps, but I use Firefox, so I don't know for sure.
Fixed it by wiping dalvik cache.
