I have the Black and white developer edition that's GSM. Currently I have never unlocked it and put another rom on it but want to now. The issue I have is I am having trouble knowing which device type it is.
In the cyanogenmod docs it says it can be moto_msm8960dt or ghost. The ghost stuff is a lot more up to date.
Pretty sure you have an XT1053 if it's a GSM Dev Edition.
On mine its written on the back cover.
Thanks guys I know that. I am asking what the code name is. Is it Ghost?

Only some people seem to be experiencing it. A fairly popular solution is to stick a piece of paper in the small hole at the top, rear of the device. I haven't tested it personally.

The password for this menu on the Milestone hasn't been found yet, as far as I know. Even if it was, I don't believe the same tweak for call quality found on the Droid would be applicable on the Milestone. As far as I know, it's specific to the Verizon network.
All that said, this is the wrong section.
sry...
thank for the info
by the way, your thinking maybe my service provider (Cellcom) have this code?
some pp'l told me that the SPC code is just Residue of the Droid'd software
is it true? they are diffrent beyond GSM\CDMA?
regards

I believe only Motorola has this code. The differences between the Milestone and Droid certainly go beyond the radios they use (GSM/CDMA)
The Milestone is locked down, Motorola doesn't want anybody to modify it. The Droid was released as a Google phone, which means it's allowed to be modified any way the user wishes. The Programming menu (what you want the password for) is one of the tools that let you change some otherwise-hidden settings that Motorola doesn't want you to change.
Hi All,
My wife recieved her HTC One this morning from EE. Because shes happy with her iPhone 5 she gave it to me. So i have 2! lol
Now ive been comparing these devices to decide on which one ill keep. Decided to keep my own one, because its factory unlocked and a better build quality, (The EE one isnt bad, just slightly more gappy than mine) however, i have a question regarding NFC.
When both enabled, they do work on both devices, however the NFC symbol only appears on the EE device, is there a reason for this? Just confused to as why my Sim free version dont display this.
Can anyone answer this? Not a problem to me just baffled!
Thanks in advance.

The reason is that HTC disabled this icon following the first firmware upgrade. When the EE device gets updated... it will disappear. Even sooner if you flash a custom ROM.

Got ya, thanks dude for the Quick reply. Its a shame, it could be quite a useful icon to have. Especially if you forget the NFC is on. . .
Yeah I have seen thisvery thing between different stock builds of various ROMs.
What it is, is a line in build.prop that determins whether the icon is shown or not. Certain people (myself included) think that there is no need to show it. You do not need reminding it's on as it uses such little power. Set it and forget it.
ro.nfc.icon.enable=false
Awesome. I thought it used up a little bit of power, but now i know. I shall just leave on. . . Thanks guys!
Looks like Nexus 5 is going to be easy to develop for...

Heads up, if you want one on Sprint, you can order the same device via the Play Store as well.
I'm pretty sure this also means one "Nexus 5 Android/Original Development" Section for all 3 carriers (ATT/TMobile/Sprint) and there won't have to be separation between ROMs. (maguro/toro/toroplus)

it's about Android Development for ROMs for the Nexus 5. If it doesn't belong a mod is welcome to move it, but until ROMs and kernels actually show up, isn't it nice to have something here?

There will be at least 2 versions, D820 and D821, these will need different kernel/modem etc probably, but they should be similar and since its nexus it should be pretty easy to fix for both in either seperate or same file.
Also, this is a question, so no, it doesnt belong in Development.

I believe it does fit under [R&D], which is allowed. This is something that is useful to be discussed.
Even though you may have the "North America" LD-D820 and the "International" LD-D821, you will not have all the splintering from the carriers. With the gen3 Galaxy Nexus, it wa always, does this work on Toro or just Maguro, etc? ONE version of a custom ROM for all of U.S/Canada will be great.

I'm on Sprint, and being able to grab a flash the same .zip that AT&T users flash is something all OEMs should adopt.
Also even though officially it's not available for Verizon, it runs on the Verizon CDMA/LTE bands, meaning with some ESN tricks (that I won't mention), one could easily get an N5 working on Verizon.

Hello all,
I have a Nexus 6 (w/ Tmobile) and was curious: if I unlock the bootloader to flash 5.1 and then relock the bootloader, would that affect the warranty?
Also, if this question was already posted, please let me know. I looked and I haven't seen a question about it.
Thanks
Also: is there a way to move this thread to the q&a? Looks like i put it in the wrong place

Nope.
questions go into the q&a/help section, not the general section.
btw, i have a tmo n6 as well. i bought my n4 and n5 there as well. through the years, ive known people with issues who returned/exchanged devices there, it seems you arent allowed to, but most, not all, people ive known havent had issues exchanging devices when their bootloader is unlocked.

Right now? Yes. There is a custom update for Wifi calling and VOLTE coming before the end of Q1, though (supposedly).

So assuming this update really happens we can say we're probably screwed. T-Mobile will probably push crap along with that update which I hope doesn't.

google sends us updates, not tmobile. if its in an update, its something every nexus 6 will get.
