Microphone issue After replaced for a new one - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've beem reading in here .
but the Threads i read they don't know if is hardware or software.
but in my case i have to call it a software issue
Since i rooted my htc one (M7) using team win ( sorry if i'm noob and sad any mistake) and i install a CM11 rom and a custom rom after dislike the previous. I'm having the same issues. during call my bottom mic doesn't work. and now even on video recording just record noise.
I have replaced the usb and mic for a new one and the problem didn't disappear.
it can't be a hardware problem i think
can it be possible that rooting or flashing a custom rom have disable anything that control the bottom mic?
I've read that it can be the firmware but i dind't change it ( not with knowledge) i9m still S-ON
sorry about the bad English and being a noob

please help

another question, since a my installation of the unofficial cm10.1 whem i plug the jack (headphones) i heard a few static is any way to resolve this
thanks you all for all the Help
P.S. Sorry about my English , this is not my mother language.
Maybe you can read here for flashing stock rom, choose one http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1575.
For static sounds maybe your headset broken, and maybe the bug of cm 10 as far i know it has so many bugs.

HTC One caller mic not working

Earlier today I changed my s-on to s-off, ever since this moment I have not been able to call people properly. Everything else on my phone works fine can receive and send SMS, data through apps and on browsers works. But my contact are saying that at times my line is very crackely, and always quiet, sometimes it does not work at all but for the most part is very very quiet, even when I am carrying 3G signal.
I have rooted my HTC One and am using CyanogenMod 10.1, have not had Any problems with calls and the is before.
Does this sound like a problem with the software or the hardware to you guys??
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
That's hardware my friend. I have the same problem. I'm sending my phone back to T-Mobile for a new one free of charge.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Do you expect there to be any problems with regards to phone having been rooted and s-off'd??
It's possible. Run an RUU that's for your carrier and s-on again. Just to be on the safe side.

Sorry to be a noob, but where would i get the RUU for my phone HTC One (M7) and carrier O2?

I'm on my phone atm, so I can't give you a link, but search the development thread. You should find what you need in there.

Thats weird... I got the same problem as you... I did the s-off, flashed latest firmware for 4.2.2, then flashed 13.3 arhd rom and still no mic. I have to put my calls on speakers.
Will try to flash a new rom and firmware... Its probably a problem with the firmware.

Any luck here?
Im completely stuck, trying to unroot, but cant due to my device not installing correctly. Have tried four different computers running win7 and Vista. HTC One stock phone installs perfectly but my rooted device wont. Have tried unistalling all htc products/drivers, rebooting, installing the driver 4.2.00.1 or whatever it is, then rebooting and plugging phone in and still not working.
Is there any way that i can unroot without having to connect to computer?
Hi guys,
I have the same problem which I posted about here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2426212.
I also saw this problem mentioned on other forums. Did any of you find this roughly coincided with the 4.2.2 update?
EDIT: Forgot to mention that I am on stock 4.2.2 3 UK ROM.

You said you had the same problem, I have just downloaded CyanogenMod 10.2 for android 4.3. I flashed cm 10.2 along with gapps, setup the phone, made my first call and poff the handset caller mic works.
So it was a firmware problem, not sure why it stopped working after 5 months but hey ho, operating One again.

Nice to hear that it worked! I just flashed a new firmware for 4.3 (vomers guide) and the new ARHD 20.1... Now the mic is A1! Its probably a problem with the firmware!

So this is the first I have heard that reflashing can solve the problem of the bottom mic quietness/distortion.
Would love to hear if other people found that reflashing helps.
Given that many people are using the stock firmware without issue, it leads me to believe it might be some configuration error that gets wiped on reflash and there is potentially a fix without reflashing. Maybe?
Same issue for me - ARHD 4.2.2 and S-Off.
Managed to get into a world of problems trying to return the phone to stock so I could return it to the store. Will try 4.3 and hope things resolve themselves.
Thanks for sharing!

Please let us know if it works!
Unfortunately, upgrading to 4.3 has not resolved the mic issue.
iTroll :
Maybe you can try to flash the new firmware 4.3, full format /sdcard, when its done, reboot to recovery mode and adb push rom.zip /sdcard ... Personally it's what I did...
gavjs :
Have you tried the diag test *#*#3424#*#* then audio test... Theres a mic test there (thanks iTroll for the hint)
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Thanks for the tip. The audio test passed which leaves me confused as the mic is definitely not working well at all when I test it in call. I wonder if there's a different ROM or version that I should install...any ideas?

This is *exactly* the same symptoms I have then. My mic test passes too.
I wonder could it be over zealous noise cancellation? Does anyone know if it can be disabled for testing purposes?

I just tried installing ARHD Google Edition and no change. Dont know if it's worth playing about more with any other ROMs / Kernels etc, or just to try and get this back to stock to return it (as I'm sure they'll blame me for messing around with root / CID / s-off / rom - and they may be right!)

If it is any consolation, I am on stock, never rooted or unlocked and have the same issue.
Anyone know how to disable active noise cancellation?

[Q] how to return HTC One M8 to stock

Hello everyone,
I have almost zero knowledge and M8 is the first android I ever had so apologies for the newbi question.
I got it from my brother rooted and with a custom ROM. I would like to get it back to stock and un-root it just in case I want to sell it.
I did read the forums but I got lost and couldn't find a proper guide that I can follow and I'm afraid Ill brick the phone.
My CID is GLOBA001 and at the moment I have Android revolution HD9.1 installed.
He did not make any backups to anything before he did this (most of the guides I found were assuming I had one)
Any help would be appreciated.

How to un-root Htc One (m7)
I recently rooted my Htc One (M7) and i am really satisfied about it. I now run the Cyanogenmod 11
But suddenly my mic stopped working, exept when i'm i speaker mode.
I can use speaker for a while, but its not good in the length.
Therefor i wanted to deliver the phone into my store, but i cant deliver it rooted....
So i was wondering how to un-root it. I have searched a lot, but i cant find anything that works for me.
I am pretty sure its a hardware fault, thats why i want to deliver it on my warranty since it is only 6 months old.
Could someone help me?

sorry, this isnt a solution :/
how much do you cost the fix of the purple camera?
& i dont thing you need a camera driver, the driver are supposed installed with the RUU, so, should be another reason.

it was free, i just paid for shipping there, but it took a month while they waited on parts. supposedly wasnt just my camera but they fixed whatever else for free too. they mightve discovered the simlock was gone, even though i relocked my bootloader, reset the tampered/relocked flags, and set s-on. the lady on the phone told me they would charge me if my phone was rooted
was it under warranty??
do you know the price for it to get fixed? I m experiencing the same problem

You can do it with an unlocked bootloader as well
Micro very quiet
Hello,
I just installed the nostromopop custom Rom 2.2. And it is working great so far! However the Microphone and the speakers while doing Phone calls are too quiet. Is there some way to fix this issue? Thanks

Hey Man,
Yes they are and we had already mentioned them on this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63939956&postcount=353 but the issue seem to be from Cyanogen on which the ROM is based and not from the ROM per se.
We hope it will be fixed when the new build is out from Cyanogen CM13 Marshmallow, fingers crossed...
Loud Speaker crackling (I believe its not using the actual Sense Boom Sound), Ear piece and Mic are too low...are the only drawbacks other than that, its the best Lollipop ROM out there....
Keeping my Hopes Alive...
Sorry
Sorry,
Thank you guys. ?
