I cannot find a clear answer. It is rooted by doing towelroot and flashing kernel to nd3, using towelroot, then flashing ng3 kernel again. Will I brick if I install safestrap recovery on ng3?

No that's the only custom recovery you can use. Why would it brick your phone? The method you've described using is the only way to use Safestrap
Ok the only posts I see are people using it with nd3.. ot one post have I seen someone say ng3... ven the safestrap post says nd3.. thanks for the help hh what happens if I do not disable xposed?

Fantastic glad everything is working for you:thumbup::thumbup:
Are any of the safestrap roms worth installing? I really enjoy all of the features of this phone surprisingly. I like stock so much that I would almost unroot it and restore complete stock if it wasnt for callrecorder, and titanium backup.

Yes we have a locked bootloader. We have to use safestrap instead of the usual recovery like cwm or twrp.

Which Busybox app did you use? Try the one I linked you to. You might have a bad download of Safestrap too. Try downloading it again. If worst comes to worst you may have to do a factory reset and try again.

Here is my presentiment that I've posted elsewhere
My phone was working just fine this morning but after updating a few apps through Google Play my phone started throwing up messages that gapps process was continuously crashing.
I then restarted the phone and it would not get to the AT&T startup. I have since flashed the OC1 kernel through SafeStrap but now the phone will not leave the AT&T startup logo.
Any ideas for what I can do? I have an older backup but not on 5.0 like I should. If need be I'll be going through the entire reinstallation process of 5.0 again.
EDIT: Just realized that I have a bigger problem now since I cannot access SafeStrap Recovery.

You need to Odin flash the NC2 Kernel to get Safestrap to work http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2800888&stc=1&d=1402892555 then you should be able to wipe and install one of your backups. I know you're probably sick of me posting but would I have to ODIN flash a different kernel to get Safestrap access on Lollipop? For some reason once I updated the startup prompt for Safestrap disappeared.

Yes you would have to flash the NC2 Kernel then after you are done with Safestrap you need to flash the OC1 Kernel. To access Safestrap without Odin you would need to install the NC2 Flasher from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-att/development/nc2-flasher-app-unsafe-t2989141/ plus you need the two (2) files from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-att/general/att-nj5-safestrap-t2957471 Thanks @benwaffle and Thanks @carl1961.

I rooted vs98039a with a one click root method on xda. Everything worked perfect! The only thing is, I don't have a recovery. When I try to boot into recovery, I get android on his back with the red triangle . Anyone know how to install twrp? I can't even do a backup. How do I do a nandroid backup? It's been a long time since I've done this and can't remember.

Onto your question...
What oneclick method? Do you have a link? Some install a recovery, some are simply root. If you're coming from 39a stock, you need to use XDABEBB's 39a bootstack (get it here) (keeps the 39a modem, rolls back to an older bootloader as Bump is patched in 39a so you can't boot anything but stock. Your oneclick method likely flashed a recovery, but not a bootstack.... Which is what's causing the dead android when you boot recovery. You're really lucky it didn't flash everything though as you could've possibly bricked your phone if it had.
You should have used Freedom Tool which would have got you what you needed... or maybe the new autorec.
Read Twice, Flash once.

No need, I flagged the post so the moderators would move it. They also cleaned up the thread.
Even if you're already rooted you can run that tool I linked, it will fix what was messed up.

Ya there's root already for 5.1.1.
Go to the unified dev section for GS6 and grab the unified kernel. You'll need to unlock bootloader first in dev options then flash the latest TRWP recovery in Odin. Then flash the kernel and you'll have root.that's the version, so take a look at the details before flashing.

i rooted my t-mo s6 with the above method, but the phone feature broke... can't hear the person i'm calling at all. i'm not sure if the mic is broke since i cannot hear the person on the other end...
i should have kept the phone on 5.0.2 @[email protected]
I finally have root, TWRP, call audio and data without tripping knox on my stock GS6 5.1.1. I didn't think it was possible. Am I wrong? Has this been done already and I'm just late to the game?
please share the method you used, because when i root my s6 on 5.1.1, i get no call audio...
I'm wondering if it's even worth rooting this phone. Setup wise I was able to disable and hide all bloatware with a $1.50 app. If I could get xposed working with temp root. I'd be a happy camper.

I installed the engineering sboot in download mode with odin, then allowed to restart rom, booted back to download mode, then v3 of the unified Kernel for sm-920T in download mode with odin, booted the rom, back up my efs, installed TWRP v12 (g925t_of6_aou_twrp_recovery_v12) with Flashify, rebooted into download mode and flashed g920t_of6_aou_kernel_v1.tar kernel.
I did get the security manager prompt after the restart but there is a way to freeze that prompt with Titanium Back up. I'm looking for that now

Just checked. KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0 (0×0000) is what it shows. I installed a custom rom (Xtrestolite) and all I needed to do was reflash the second kernel again to get audio back. Fingerprint is the only thing that isn't working so far.
I can post an image of the bootloader screen if you'd like.
